My 6 year old wants a hatchimal. They are only be released so theres no reviews but the ads are on tv 10 times an hour. Are they going to be a big thing this year? I cam discern much from the little there us online. Are they just a big tomigotchi (sp?).

Interested to hear is anyone else considering them. It would be the big pressie this year as they are getting a trampoline berween thwm

We're currently hatching one dd chose for her birthday. Taking fucking ages!

happyoldtown · 11/10/2016 16:15

Keep us posted Gin on how it is.

Ginmakesitallok · 11/10/2016 16:39

It's like a mini furby - not worth the ££ if you ask me....

Ginmakesitallok · 11/10/2016 16:41

In all its glory.

Hatchimal
Kione · 11/10/2016 17:00

That's not like the egg on the adverts?

Ginmakesitallok · 11/10/2016 17:25

That's what's in the egg!

Idliketobeabutterfly · 11/10/2016 18:38

the thing on the bottom is the nest not the egg

Ginmakesitallok · 11/10/2016 21:48

Wait! It's better than a furby!!

It's got an off button! Hurray! !

backinaminute · 12/10/2016 11:03

Are the hatched toys any good? Or is is actually just about the hatching?

Those who have both - would you get a furby or one of these?

I'm so undecided. Thank you

Kione · 12/10/2016 16:40

Ah ok! Cute that has a nest

Pigleychez · 12/10/2016 18:04

Im debating theses for the girls ( 6 and 8)

DD1 already has a furby that gets occasional use so not sure this would be much different. DD2 has requested a furby but i'm thinking its only because DD1 has one and shes quite protective over it.

Kione · 12/10/2016 18:21

I remember Furbies used to interact with each other, its fun and they must be cheaper now?

Idliketobeabutterfly · 13/10/2016 12:51

Lol almost bought a furbaca at toysrus today.

Letitgoletitgo · 16/10/2016 18:54

Interested to know how these compare to furbies? Ds has asked for a furby for christmas but wondering if this would be more interesting? Never had a furby either. Thanks!

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 19/10/2016 11:59

Anyone know of anywhere that lets you preorder for when stock is available?? Looks like they sell out in Minutes!

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 12:00

no but found a sight that is updating stock info
www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-hatchimals

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 12:01

Site not sight

katienana · 19/10/2016 12:34

Can you hatch it more than once? Do you throw the egg away? Ds wants one, but then he does ask for literally every single thing he sees advertised (including Vanish Gold) so following with interest!

ThanksForAllTheFish · 19/10/2016 12:40

My local Tesco extra had them on stock yesterday - about 50 on the shelves and no one was going anywhere near them. They were £56.99. It was DD that spotted them and went over for a look. I think again it's one of those toys that has been hyped to sell out but really there will be lots more stock available in the run up to Christmas. Maybe waiting to the week before Christmas might be an issue but not this far in advance.

I think I will hold out for the toys r us owlicorn as DD is more into owls than penguins or dragons just now. I've get a stock alert email set up so hopefully we should get one before December.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 12:43

lol our local Asda had them in stock too but display was in homewares in a very odd place.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 12:45

there's a wishlist trick with the owlicorn as sometimes it only shows as in stock if on a wishlist

quicklydecides · 19/10/2016 12:48

Once they hatch, what happens then???
Do they do anything?

strawberrypenguin · 19/10/2016 12:51

Well after deciding I would get one DS has now said he would like one for Christmas. Guess I'm going on a hatchimal hunt!

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 12:57

They are a little furbies. you play with them and train them to talk and play games.

Use the instock site. Thats how I got mine through Argos

quicklydecides · 19/10/2016 12:59

Do you need two or more so they can talk to each other?
