How much have you spent on Xmas food shopping?

£50 for Xmas eve for 3 adults and 3 DC plus £20 buffet bits for Boxing Day (2 adults and 3 DC)

£269 for the week. About £100 more than normal, £70 of that is the turkey.

There is 7 of us here and we will have 10 people eating on Xmas day.

I have spent £150 and that includes Xmas eve, Xmas day and Boxing day food. No alcohol but a few boxes of cheap chocolates.

Dh thinks that's a lot. He isn't moaning because I was the one who did it online but I think I've done pretty well! Although I'm now worrying I haven't got enough.

About £300 including booze. But we have 6 adults for Christmas Day and 14-16 for Boxing Day.

Ahh screw it. My mum and sister won't care anyway. I am sure they just want my lovely company and will happily share a roast potato between them Grin

I'm usually an over caterer, so I'm sure I will be fine.

£350, for 10 people for 3 days and 5 people for another 3 days. Includes meat and alcohol and party food. About £40 of that was last minute gifts at the supermarket (pjs, alcohol and chocolates).

I got Christmas Day food, food for next few days, and days after - approx 12 days I'd say. Bought cleaning products, toiletries too. My turkey crown was £20 odd. Plus more wrapping paper, tags. Have 6 in my family. Feel a bit guilty that I spent so much - £250. Can u tell lol! Its a lot for me compared to normal!

If my online order comes complete tomorrow, just under £70. However, that is all Christmas food, a bottle of Prosecco and a bottle of wine, all vegetarian, and only for two, so quite a lot really. No household/store cupboard items at all.

£150 is fine. Don't get more if you don't need to. I was just trying to avoid that popping to the local shop every 5 minutes!

£250 for 12 days plus Xmas dinner sounds pretty good actually, especially for 6 of you.

I just ordered more potatoes incase.

It's the one thing me and dh don't agree on. I buy too much food and I think he buys too little. This time I think I have bought too little and he still thinks I've bought too much.

I would say about £300 and that's only for 5 people. However I like to get a big turkey and do things for a few days afterwards before freezing some. I usually buy things like a bottle of gin/vodka/whiskey to have in case someone calls or one of us wants a glad but the bottle could last a year or more so I don't see it as a Xmas expense specifically

Just over £200 for 1 week, including all drinks. Will be having family and a small amount of friends in and out to feed too.

We spent about £99, a bit more than we usually spend. Two adults, a 3 year old and 6month old. That includes food for this week, some extra treats/ingredients that we wouldn't normally buy as well and general household items such as cleaning products and loo roll.

We have 20 people coming, for Christmas Day including booze I am expecting about £700. That includes champagne and two turkeys so not bad at £35 a head, you would pay much much more in a restaurant. We don't really do presents either as hosting Christmas is our present.

£210 over two weekly shops - that is Xmas dinner for 4 people, plus buffet style food for approx 12 adults and 8 DC's for Xmas Eve, and another little buffet style gathering for 6 people post Xmas. It includes approx £70 worth of booze plus both weeks 'normal' shop ie: milk, bread, fruit, etc. Will only need to do a top up shop towards new year. Think I've done quite well.

I agree with Louise, I stocked up but it's only because I don't want to go to the shops after Xmas, I want to stay in and chill out! I usually am very careful with budgeting, I do meal plans and love aldi but I decided this year to play hostess and get everyone together 
The deals in the shops are good, in tesco the standard Xmas dinner veg is all down to 39p per bag, even spuds, so if you really want to be careful you can be. My turkey crown from aldi was approx £9, so you could do Xmas dinner for £15. It's the extras and the treats that add up Wink
