£99.82 was the online shop amount, which includes the week's normal groceries. plus whatever DH pays for some wine. I suppose it will probably be about £40-£50 over the normal.

Wowsers ...... I need to stop shopping at Waitrose !!
Also those with two bottles of wine .... What are you gonna drink in the afternoon???

Think some of these sound a bit conservative.
2 adults and an tween:
Christmas Eve - Iceland Lobster x2, Lidl prawns, avocado, bag of lemons, wine. £18
Christmas Day - smoked salmon, cream cheese, eggs, cava and fresh orange. £11
Brought starters - salmon and prawn (£3) 3 bird roast plus veg, sausages, stuffing £24
Christmas pud and brandy butter. Wine £10
Boxing Day - Beef Wellington, £10. Left overs plus cheese chutneys and pickles £8.50. Yule Log £3.

Basically just under £90 and that's all Lidl and Iceland stuff and 3 bottles of wine on a 25% off deal. Guess you could feed one or two more on what we have but that's it.

A good £600. That's for 7 people for 6 nights and of course days as they just sit and eat/drink basically!

I find it very stressful the amount that we spend if I'm honest, try not to worry about it but oh boy it's a helluva lot of money ....

Around £300, including booze but not turkey. Hosting 10 for 3 days. Then hosting NY so will have to get more bits then. Sigh. Still, I'd rather host than charge up and down the motorway like we usually do!

Not all that much more than we normally spend. Minimal booze- got given a bottle of champagne, that will do me fine for Christmas Day.

Meat for Christmas - stuffed pork joint as that is the kids fave £5. Might get a stuffed duck from the village butcher £15. Boxing Day - leg of lamb (Ocado) £8. £3 smoked salmon.Might make some puff pastry mince pies from stuff we already have at home. We have a Lidl pud and small Heston one hanging around from last year that need eating up. Oh and a £3 pannettone.

Am thinking of looking in at Lidl on the way home from the panto tomorrow and poss buying some impulse stuff (hmm Lobster). But otherwise out usual sort of order from Ocado will be coming in at about £87 tomorrow.

My mum used to buy in too much food to eat, I know we wouldn't get through a big Christmas cake and so on. And I seem to have forgotten to order sprouts, mind you no one else in the family will eat them but me.

£102.85 for the week for the five of us. Four adults and ds3 (9). We have bacon rolls for breakfast on Christmas Day instead of cereal/fruit/toast but other than that don't have anything much different.

£200 split between Aldi, Sainsburys and local farm shop. Includes food for this week, our normal food bill is £70. 5 adults and a 3 year old here on Christmas Day

130 online shop... Was happy then realised also 60 for turkey and bits on food order and 120 on alcohol
So 360 ish for 8 of us for 3 days... But 2 are non drinkers, and on me a veggie so prob £50-60 head for few days?

The usual £40 weekly shop, plus £20 in the butchers for a haggis, sausages and bacon (pigs in blankets), plus £5 in the greengrocers for whatever isn't growing in the garden already.
£65 for 4 of us, including drink and pudding, for the week.

£350 food - 7 of us Christmas Day, plus mum and dad staying for a week although we will go to out to dinner one eve.
Booze prob £175- includes Glenmorangie whisky for dad, champagne,Prosecco, port, dessert wine, baileys etc etc.
It seems very extravagant but DH and I both agree that I want to spend minimal time in the kitchen Christmas Day ( hate anyone under my feet although he would happily help) so we always order from M&S for Christmas lunch ( Festive saver menu plus a couple of desserts, starter and a venison joint).
And we never waste anything, husband is a farmer so eats for England ( Ireland, Scotland and Wales!)

My mums spent just over £400 that's on 17 people.

She said she has got to do another little shop on Thursday morning too...

Will be heading to Aldi for fruit and biscuits /chocolate. So maybe £20 there.

Also need a few bottles of tipple.

I only got a small beef joint too. Turkeys too expensive and I'm not keen on it anyways.

£60 on party food and soft drinks for Xmas eve (but only really £30 as used £30 of nectar points).
£40 in Aldi on Christmas dinner for 3 and our share of our Boxing Day Jacobs join.
£25 on cakes/ mince pies/ bits from Morrison's.

That doesn't include any alcohol or chocolate as we've been given 4 bottles of prosecco and a couple of bottles of wine plus loads of chocolate as gifts recently and we have a few choices of spirits already.

Oh actually dh bought a case of beer for about £10-12.

Therefore in total we've spent about £130.

A bit more than normal about £100, but will need to top up around the Monday after Christmas. We eat some different things
but not necessarily more and hardly ever waste food.
Only us four for Christmas lunch, but that also includes buffet tea for 15 on Boxing day, which consists of a lot of homemade stuff- quiche, desserts. Both my dsis and dmum are bringing a dessert too.
DH's dps here for Christmas tea and have bought crackers.

Bought fizzy pop for DC, but 7 bottles of wine and champagne have been supplied by DH's clients and
most people will bring something alcoholic with them. DH just needs to get the beer and last few fresh bits.
DH's work and my DP's have supplied the chocolate.

About £300 for three adults, will last this week and into next week.
We have got a lots of stuff, but i dont like to be without something i have a hunger pang for!

£10 on a tub of roses and a tub of cadburys heroes.

Still have the fresh veg, salad, party food bits for the evening and breakfast bits for Christmas day and boxing day. Probably another £100ish

Waitrose online shop total was £163 but after offers, my Waitrose card picks and the £45off voucher they sent me in the post as i hadn't shopped with them in about 9ish months the grand total was £79, which included a bottle of whiskey for dh. 2 adults 3 kids.

Around £200 - six of us for 'the main meal' on Christmas day plus a nice dinner for Christmas Eve and various bits and pieces. £30 on a special cake which still hasn't been delivered .

No more than usual on booze as we are heavy drinkers all year round - certainly by Mumsnet standards .

£170 for a party for 50 people, mostly drinks
£350 for 3 adults, 2 children for 5 days we will have plenty left over and so will actually last Longer than five days but will meal,plan with what we have left on 27th and get any top ups then. We use up everything make stock from the bones etc.
