48 hours to go. How much have we got left to do?

Surprisingly calm despite the fact I've still got to:

1. Wrap DD x3 presents
2. Assemble Jumperoo and doll swing.
3. Do food shop
4. Clean house

I refuse to panics (yet). Merry Christmas all!

Hide ironing.

Put-up remaining lights and do table decorations.
Make little cheese scones to have with drinks tonight
Make ginger cake for next door.
Make stuffing and cranberry sauce.
Make fruit salad.
Buy Xmas meat and decaf coffee beans.
Watch Elf.
WRAP (half done).

Things I plan to do:
Find a box that looks like an 'undersea treasure chest' to put squishy sea animals in. Wrap and hide.
Sew bows on heads of girl teddy bees and on necks of boy teddy bees. Put in teddy beehive. Wrap and hide.
Get Onesie for fussy, skittish teen.
Gussy up shabby dog and toddler depleted decs and tree.
Wash stinky dog and his bedding.
Decant shop-bought red cabbage/devils on horseback etc into baking dishes so DM, Mil, Sil, Bil and Dsis think I cooked from scratch.
Make pfeffernusse and spekulatious biscuits with the DC.
Buy, wrap and hide 4 presents I forgot.
Organise lovely outfits for all events for DCs
Be well groomed and affectionate.
Cook, clean, graciously host etc.

What I'll probably manage:

Chill fizz.

Guzzle!

According to my list all that is left is,

Today-
Get DD to tidy her room
Give the bathroom a quick wipe over
Clean kitchen
Clear and lay table
Go visit family for a couple of hours

Tonight-
Soak ham
Prepare veg
Showers for all 4 of us
Make DH watch Love Actually with me when DCs in bed
Get into stealth Santa mode

I have yet to start..... and I am working today. It is goinig to be very low key - isn't it? Are the supermarkets going to busy today or should I put it off a week?

My new addition to my quite small list is go to the chemists for cold remedies.

Im so ill so most of stuff wont get done dh sleeping off nights at min and is back in work later have put all his pressies in a large amazon box and warpped that
will have to go to co op to get him a pizza for xmas day as doubt i want food luckey its just us

As if my list wasn't big enough I forgot to add dye hair and get it cut.Got appointments for DH and 4 of the 5 DC a couple of weeks ago and forgot about myself . Plus 3 dogs need baths added to the list as well.

Manged to do all the housework yesterday.
Picked up all the fresh bits except stuff for breakfast tomorrow,DH picking that up this morning.
All beds stripped and washing.
Loads of washing done yesterday.
Laundry all put away.
Flowers for my mum bought,going to the cemetery today,first visit for me.
Extra pressies for Dad,Brother and sister in law bought and wrapped.
Electric toothbrushes and headphones bought and wrapped for stockings.
DH bathing the dogs now.
Hair dyed,getting cut this morning.
Youngest DD7 is disabled and autistic,yesterday evening she decided she would like to buy Christmas presents for her 3 big brothers and her big sister so lovely DH is very kindly taking her present shopping today,he's also going to pick up oldest jewellery(I know where to get it from)and he's decided to get him a new mobile as well and a hand held game.
I just need to grab some gift vouchers today from a local shop for 2 oldest DS.
Still a few bits today but I am feeling very excited about Christmas .Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone on here,that you get all done that you need doing and that you manage to enjoy Christmas eve along the way.

I am still cleaning the house and I haven't cleared the spare room for guests arriving later. Plus we have to be out in an hour. I am panicking.

When I get home I'll have an hour or two before guests arrive so I could finish the cleaning then.

Had to go shopping this morning for all the bits we couldn't get earlier in the week.

DH tackled laundry yesterday on his return from PILs. He's going to the storage unit this morning, buying birthday cake and most of the rest of the last bits of shopping, and then needs to flop. He's shattered.

DD is with me at work for a couple of hours, then we go see the Live Crib, buy a few M&S nibbles (including some puppodums and naan breads), buy a Subway sandwich (special request from DD), and head for home.

I am actually hoping to get to do some fun stuff for me this afternoon. Make the wreath, put together a gingerbread house with DD, maybe make a yule log.

We do still have some cooking prep bits to do. And wrapping DD's presents tonight (under tree and her birthday ones - not the Santa ones). I think I've lost the red placemats (boo!!). I took out 3 different single portions of curries this morning from the freezer for dinner - so an easy night. And I need to remember to put the champagne in the fridge because DH's letter confirming his promotion arrived this morning.

So we should, crossing fingers and touching wood, actually be able to relax by about 2ish and totally flop by about 5.

Mop downstairs and tidy my room and 2 DD's rooms. We're at PIL's for Christmas dinner, with friends over tomorrow night. Everything is bought and wrapped, DP is currently out shopping in town for my presents and something for his mum with DD's. He's had 2 weeks off work, silly man!

I'm feeling very chilled

Finish celebrating DD1s birthday (today!)
Wrap all Christmas presents (gift bagging most so not too bad)
Food shop (early doors tesco in the am - done butchery bits today so that helps)
Collect a nappies order boots - DH doing this right now
Get ddx2 little n large boden Christmas pj's out
Fill stockings.
Put a wash in tonight and change DD1 bedding. Bit of laundry to put away.
House has been deep cleaned so just a wick over tomorrow. - will Hoover when DH back/baby awake
Do horses and drop hay bill cash card and pressie to our lovely farmer friend where horses live. - DH doing this when he returns
Think that's it.
Well, better bloody had be.
And perhaps I could add 'bathe self' to the list also.
Only cooking for ourselves (3 + baby) as family all away so quiet day planned will only pop to feed horses with coat and Wellies over jamas at some point!

Now poised after the last couple of things to do an early tea/early bath and Christmas pjs on for a film. Happy days!

Phew!!

Having a sit down after a hectic day! Finally got the house tidy before people arrived and hid the rest in our room.

Veg all prepped and ready for the morning, got to decide when Santa will visit. I think around 5am? Maybe later! He will drop the presents off in the living room. When does Santa visit your house?

Santa has been - but maybe I'm just overtired but it looks underwhelming.

Presents wrapped, stockings done. Flat still a mess but never mind.

Bedtime for me at last!

I have still got to wait for dc2 to go back to sleep after getting up for a wee over an hour ago! Stocking toys are sat in my room waiting but I can hear him moving and snuffling so gonna be a while yet! Dh is in a right strop and is dropping off beside me. So now we're looking at under three hrs sleep for me tonight
