Surprisingly calm despite the fact I've still got to:

  1. Wrap DD x3 presents
  2. Assemble Jumperoo and doll swing.
  3. Do food shop
  4. Clean house
I refuse to panics (yet). Merry Christmas all!

Ironing
Finish cleaning house but not urgent as no family arriving til Boxing Day and it's not too bad anyway, must mop hall and kitchen floors though and a trip to the dump wouldn't go amiss
Organising kids to wrap their presents and husband to go and buy his presents
Food shopping, need turkey, salad stuff, fruit and chipolatas, will be at supermarket very early tomorrow am, but have most things in apart from that
Three presents to buy, will have to be choccies at supermarket tomorrow am I think
Washing, mainly sheets and duvets for guests
That's it! So basically under control. Just the 4 of us Christmas Day so it really isn't a haste.
And cooking mince pies with DD and DS tomorrow, but that's a Christmas tradition and good fun so it isn't a chore!

JLucky · 23/12/2014 18:09

Wrap a few more last minute stocking fillers
Finish tidying the front room (lot's of DS's stuff for him to take back to his room).
Finish the ironing.
Tomorrow evening (after evening meal), set the dining table for Xmas dinner.
Take a few things out of the freezer tomorrow night.

bigbluestars · 23/12/2014 18:26

Vacuum.
Wrap all the presents.
Finish sewing together a giraffe.
Make gingerbread cheeseburgers for Santa (thanks ds2!).
Make a cake.
Pack for going away on Boxing Day.

And go to work tomorrow Sad

Plomino · 23/12/2014 18:35

I started preparing for Christmas yesterday morning after finishing nights . Bought the presents and wrapped them last night until 2.30am - one advantage of still being in night duty mode ! - last few presents picked up today , and food shop done this afternoon . Just collecting the turkey tomorrow and the last few presents to wrap, then that is it . If we don't have it by 3pm tomorrow , we aren't going to . Because at 3.05pm I'm opening the sherry .

Lucyccfc · 23/12/2014 18:39

Nothing.

LeftyLoony · 23/12/2014 18:40

I just need tonip to Costco first thing in the morning and clean the living room and kitchen and that's it. I aim to be parked on the sofa watching a Christmas film with the kids by 1pm tomorrow! Would it be too early to open the wine at that time...?

slithytove · 23/12/2014 19:03

Wrap mums present, write a few more cards
Put up a couple of decs
Make xmas day dessert
Build toy garage for ds
Shower, do hair (mammoth task with 3 month old)
Tidy house
Sleep! Dd was in a&e till 4 am and I've not slept. I'm shattered.

SapphireMoon · 23/12/2014 19:30

Lots.....
Head, hands....Aghhhh....

MeAndMySpoon · 23/12/2014 19:38

Wrap parents' presents and ones my brother sent for us.
Ice cake, which is now marzipan'd.
Sling some outdoor lights over the jasmine bush.
Work out why the battery-powered lights on a bush in the back have stopped working.
Put ivy and stuff round interior lights etc. My Christmas is not Christmas unless I do this. There HAS to be ivy.
Make DS2's toddler trampoline tonight. Confused
Maybe make some gingerbread.
Make a cosy for mum's hot water bottle.
Re-chill Iceytek for more cold stuff - it's too bloody mild outside!

Clean house? Nah.

Loads still to do. DH & I have been sweating with flu. I struggled out to a toy shop this morning to get a final present for DS. We are both starting to feel human now and might risk late night shopping.

BoffinMum · 23/12/2014 20:05

Pre-Christmas hair disaster. Please come and help me on Style and Beauty thread if you can I look like a hooker.

BoffinMum · 23/12/2014 20:06

I also can't find the Christmas stockings.

Dontbugmemalone · 23/12/2014 20:11

Wrap presents.
Clean entire house because it is appalling.
Make mince pies with DS1 tomorrow.
Wrap more presents.
I don't even know what we're eating, DH has gone to buy random food stuffs.
Put away clothes from the clothes mountain on the sofa.

Not much then Hmm

Tattiebogle · 23/12/2014 20:29

Presents all wrapped as of half an hour ago, Pavlovas out of the oven 10 mins ago, so all that needs to be done now is to prepare ahead tomorrow as much of the food as I can.

Starters made, just have to be titivated and assembled on the day.

2 Turkeys - one going to DIL's tomorrow night so it can go in her oven on Christmas Day, and the other one going to my Daughters.

Beef Wellington - Mushroom filling being made tomorrow and the beef will be wrapped in pasty tomorrow night ready for the oven on Christmas Day.

The Veg - each of my girls have taken a veg home with them tonight to prep and bring back tomorrow night.

Bread Sauce, Cranberry Sauce, stuffing - all made.

Have to buy Celeraic for the Gratin.

Pudding made, custard will get done on the day but it will all be prepped tomorrow so I just have to whip things out the fridge.

All the fruit for the pavlova will be cut up on the day by one of us.

Grandchildrens Santa choc fudge cake to be collected from bakers tomorrow night.

Cheese board to be assembled on the day.

Table and chairs for the garden being delivered tomorrow and the children will arrange it all after breakfast and presents have been opened on Christmas Day.

Im feeling calm and really looking forward to it all now even though its a strict presents for children only this year - no one could come up with anything they would like, want, or needed, so we are going without.

Fiftyplusmum · 23/12/2014 20:38

Oh my goodness..... some of you are very busy....
Have to:
Hoover stairs, turn "spare" room into guest room, collect prescription, iron something to wear. However spare room is full of boxes of clutter. Also put up more Christmas decs.

FlowerFairy2014 · 23/12/2014 20:50

I don't really do anything and we have no presents to be wrapped. It really feels like a different world and very easy here and of course work today and tomorrow.

alseb · 23/12/2014 20:58

Go to Asda before work
Work until 4
Wrap last few presents
Clean bathroom
Assemble portable ballet barre.
Relax and then prepare for delivery from FC
Happy christmas to all at Mumsnet and thanks for the giggles over the year!

callmekitten · 23/12/2014 20:59

Mostly just cleaning and cooking left to do. We are having DH's family over tomorrow around 2:00 for a late lunch/early dinner so I want to have most everything done by then. Hopefully I will finish cleaning tonight (the rooms that people will see, as another poster said) I've got all my food shopping done, although I've likely forgotten something. Tomorrow before DH's family arrives, I want to get all my cooking done...lunch for them, cinnamon rolls for our breakfast Christmas morning and the food that we will be taking to my Mom's on Christmas day (I have been assigned "Dips and Spreads")

pressone · 23/12/2014 21:08

Collect prescription
Have mani-pedi
Growl at anyone who makes a mess in my clean house or fridge that looks like a military operation (don't put the ham THERE, that is the raw meat shelf, one shelf up for cooked meats DP!)

OhGood · 23/12/2014 21:17

Pack car. With all stuff for self-catering for a week, and all presents for DH whole family and all baby stuff and all DD stuff and bloody great ham. It's not going to work.

Greengardenpixie · 23/12/2014 21:33

Wrap everything
House is clean and tidy
Done my food shop but could do with getting stocking fillers
Just need to make christmas dinner! Which is a ham, nut roast for the vegetarians, sprouts, roasties, broccolli..but im not stressed at all :)
