Surprisingly calm despite the fact I've still got to:

  1. Wrap DD x3 presents
  2. Assemble Jumperoo and doll swing.
  3. Do food shop
  4. Clean house
I refuse to panics (yet). Merry Christmas all!

House has been cleaned
Presents wrapped
Food being delivered tonight
Presents delivered to people we wont see on the day
Cinema trip today then work tomorrow morning.
I'm feeling calm but have a nagging suspicion I've forgotten something.

Pasithea · 23/12/2014 10:24

Still trying to get out of hospital

Alexaa · 23/12/2014 10:33

Me:
Wrap DC's and DH's presents
Unpack massive shop from yesterday that was only half unpacked
Tidy three spare rooms (one for each of my brother's staying)
Wash the mountains of laundry
Decide which bottle of bubbly should be consumed this evening

DH:
Help me unpack
Take DD2 and DS2 to the doctors
Pick up meat from Butcher's
Chop wood for the fire
Make the fire
Entertain kids with a DVD or go to the park or something before brothers arrive

middlethird · 23/12/2014 10:50

two gifts to wrap... bit of washing, bit of last minute cleaning.

I have NEVER been this organised, and I am feeling excellent!

Contemplating popping into town to get a few last bits, but then talking myself out of it! It's just not necessary!!

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/12/2014 10:52

Pretty bad here .... Thanks for the thread I think I need it!

Get something for dd and dh (everyone else has something for each other so there's stacks of stuff under the tree, but somehow I seem to have missed those ones) Xmas Blush Mind you dh has stuff for himself as do I ! (we're weird like that!) Art stuff needed for dd though or I'll feel I haven't got her anything (have been stressing about wider family and forgotten nearest and dearest)
Some more tat - magical if poss, or at least interesting/tasty - for stockings
A bit more wrapping of my pressies for people
Go to shops and upgrade dh's shop last night with better bread sauce with actual bread in, some chestnuts to make a nut loaf?, better gravy in a tub etc. (he goes a bit packet crazy, which will do if need be)

Right bath, clothes on, out the door to art shop and Sainsbo's?
Wish me luck!!

Destinycalls · 23/12/2014 11:05

Clean living room.

That's it, even though I am having an extra 2 adults and 2 children for Christmas Day!

Sitting here in dressing gown and on Facebook.

Losers! Xmas Grin

furcoatbigknickers · 23/12/2014 11:07

Wrap dh present
Family cards
Collect m&s order
Tesco few last mintue bits

WestEast · 23/12/2014 11:10

We're currently taking a break from assembling DSDs dolls house before we kill each other. Still need to wrap everything, go for a birthday lunch, buy a Barbie and buy booze for over new year. Getting stressed!

Allegrogirl · 23/12/2014 11:10

Only 4 of us on Christmas Day (hooray!). Most food bought. Anything else not vital. Have kids Santa presents to wrap. Will do in front of the fire tomorrow night.

DH veggie and me almost so easy peasy chestnut and wine encroute for Christmas Day lunch. Mince pies and biscuit making with the kids tomorrow.

This is the most chilled Christmas since 7 year old DD1 was born.

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 23/12/2014 11:14

Need to wrap a few more presents
All the dinner stuff is bought. We're having a turkey circle so not too bad Grin
Delivering presents to DD's godparents
Need to pack ready to leave at about 5pm Christmas Day to go to the ILs...
House needs tidying

Just three of us for Christmas morning, my first Christmas not spent at my parents' house. Going to the ILs Christmas night, then to my parents on Boxing Day night.

hyperhops · 23/12/2014 11:16

so much still to do....

buy last few food bits I missed off order
ice Christmas cake
make egg nog
bake mince pies
make more fudge
wrap dd1 and ds 1 presents
wrap dh presents
buy dh Christmas card
go to garden centre and que up for 2 hours to visit Santa Hmm
assemble stockings
walk dogs (lots as they are picking up on the excitement!)
3/4 loads of washing
sort dc secret santa presents
construct games table
take dc to see nativity 3 tomorrow then out for lunch

must also try to get enough sleep to stop me being a grumpy old dragon on Christmas day Hmm

Iristutu · 23/12/2014 11:28

Still to do...
Hoover and mop.
I've put three loads of washing though this morning, one still to do. Needs to be dried and away for Xmas day.
Strip beds - will do tomorrow.
Wrap two small gifts.
Buy some wine and nibbles.
Quick clean and tidy as mostly we are looking great considering children are home all day.

Go to the panto.

Feeling very calm, my present has not been delivered...it's coming today. Won't be the end of world though if I miss it.

This year I wrapped in wrapping paper then covered in clear wrapping film. They all look perfect and haven't split etc. my top tip for being organised.

SkaterGrrrrl · 23/12/2014 11:33

Going to lovely in-laws tomorrow, thank goodness. So:

Pack for self, DH, 2 year old & 4 year old (involves kids' travel cot, favourite toys, books, foods, baby monitor etc)

Tidy house (wouldn't bother but cat sitter is coming round)

Hoover up enormous amount of needles from under a tree - bought a dropper - never again.

Phone relatives in the colonies so don't have to use MILs phone bill.

Pour large glass of M&S gingerbread rum and drink.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 23/12/2014 11:38

Hoover house (have deep cleaned but dd had 7 teenagers round last night for Pizza and secret Santa swapping.)

Get a final load of washing done.

Ironing pile.

Wrap about 15 presents (was up til 3am wrapping so mostly finished, thank the Lord.)

Nip to Tescos for bruschetta and toppings (family coming here for the big unwrapping Christmas morning so doing a few light bites)

Mum is hosting dinner so no prep for me!

EXCITED!!!!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 23/12/2014 11:41

Pick up DD2's prescription
Go to the bank
Buy iTunes voucher to add to DH's presents
Go to the supermarket for ice-cream and lemonade. Pick up turkey.
Strip 2 beds and remake.
Wash bedding and put away.

Possibly take DD1 back to her student house to sort out a maintenance issue. We live closer than all her other housemates.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/12/2014 11:43

Have to say this is the first year I've really had two elves to help me Xmas Smile
ds (13) put the tree up with dd (15) a couple of weeks ago and since then they've been busy finding, buying, and wrapping pressies for us all to go under it. This is all just as well as last few weeks of term were very busy at work.
Makes such a nice change not to have to do all the wrapping myself.
And surely it's all good practice for them?!

Ahem, as you see I've still not quite had that bath yet, or got myself out of the house quite yet!
For anyone else like me, the sooner we go the less awful it will be and the sooner we'll be back home Xmas Smile

Pregnantagain7 · 23/12/2014 11:53

Today

Make beds
Do ironing
Change light bulbs
Go to the tip
Have a bath tonight

Tomorrow

Clean house- did it properly yesterday so just repairing the damage 4 kids 2 dogs and 2 cats can do in 48 hrs (and a very messy dp!)
Meet my mum to chose Xmas present for me something to wear on Xmas day probably.

snowmanshoes · 23/12/2014 11:58

Well I finished wrapping the stocking presents and both dd's main present with fancy ribbon and tags this morning, just need to add bells lol. Waiting on my final amazon delivery (should be today) and have just started a full on clean deep clean of whole house. Apart from that I'm all done so hopefully tomorrow will be stress free and we can look forward to the panto! Better get back to the kitchen.

MrsPnut · 23/12/2014 12:03

Right, shop was delivered at 10am, some substitutions but nothing major.

Have discovered we need some more spreadable butter but can pick that up on our travels today. 2 out of 3 beds stripped and washed/dried. Just our bed to do now.
Have finished working having done my 6 hours - god bless insomnia! so we are having an early bit of lunch before going to the cinema and I have just had my final parcel pushed through the letter box whilst I am typing so Christmas can start.

I do need to add a trip to the farm shop onto my list though - stock up on coal and logs.

MrsPnut · 23/12/2014 12:04

Oh and OH has hoovered the front sitting room including moving all the furniture so just a quick hoover around the rest of downstairs and a once over with the mop in the morning.

YoullLikeItNotaLot · 23/12/2014 12:10

Was all going well:

Presents wrapped.
going to family for Christmas dinner.
Doing boxing day buffet here but nothing complicated - just open packets & put on table.
House fairlytidy, just needs a clean.
A present drop at family's tonight.

Then I got my period. OMFG I have stomach cramps from hell. Just want to lie down & weep.

Husband has taken over house cleaning duties so I'm hoping a shit-tonne of ibuprofen/parecetemol does the trick & I'm active again soon.

AmeliaPeabody · 23/12/2014 12:33

I'm 'glad' I'm not the only one with still lots to do. I'm feeling disorganised this year, but this is the first day I've had completely free. I have present wrapping, home made crackers (bad decision!) to finish, a little ironing and change bedding. I'm sure there's more

shelley1977 · 23/12/2014 12:44

Ive just done food shop, we're wrapping presents tonight, will prep veg tomorrow and bake some mince pies and still to ice the Christmas cake. Feeling very relaxed this year.

bigbluestars · 23/12/2014 12:44

Food shopping now done, all presents wrapped, stockings sorted.

Still waiting for workman to fit my new cooker hood- was supposed to be here "first thing".

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/12/2014 12:49

Astonishingly very little but its because I'm abandoning anything unnecessary and dh cleaned the house this weekend. There are things that wont be done, but I just dont care. We are going to have a lovely Christmas and I have some unfrazzling of nerves to do before I can get to that point. So I'm having a lovely gentle walk into town for a few bits and bobs in a few few minutes.

Need to dry the bedding and put it on the beds (dh and dd can do that). A bit of ironing including the tablecloth. Then tomorrow its some food prep (dd can help) and thats it.
