Surprisingly calm despite the fact I've still got to:

  1. Wrap DD x3 presents
  2. Assemble Jumperoo and doll swing.
  3. Do food shop
  4. Clean house
I refuse to panics (yet). Merry Christmas all!

I have nothing much to do, am just waiting for my shopping to be delivered, am charging dd1's hudl then I need to set it all up ready for the big day. Everything is wrapped, house is clean and food is under control.

yongnian · 23/12/2014 15:09

Finish celebrating DD1s birthday (today!)
Wrap all Christmas presents (gift bagging most so not too bad)
Food shop (early doors tesco in the am - done butchery bits today so that helps)
Collect a nappies order boots
Get ddx2 little n large boden Christmas pj's out
Fill stockings.
Put a wash in tonight and change DD1 bedding. Bit of laundry to put away.
House has been deep cleaned so just a wick over tomorrow.
Do horses and drop hay bill cash card and pressie to our lovely farmer friend where horses live.
Think that's it.
Well, better bloody had be.
And perhaps I could add 'bathe self' to the list also.
Only cooking for ourselves (3 + baby) as family all away so quiet day planned will only pop to feed horses with coat and Wellies over jamas at some point!

SquidgyMummy · 23/12/2014 15:10

All the wrapping.
Tidy house - luckily DH is pretty good at cleaning
make stuffing balls, pigs in blankets and trifle.
Prepare leg of lamb for roasting on xmas day
collect MIL present from drop-off point.
Our xmasses are quite small now, so I am not that bothered.
Best bit is 4yo DS's excitement. (Cliched but true!!)

Everythingwillbeok · 23/12/2014 15:22

Buy fresh muffins in the morning from the market

Buy DDs boyfriends grandmother a gift

DaisyFlowerChain · 23/12/2014 15:26

Just got to wrap DHs and the remainder of DS's presents so couple of hours worth with a movie later. House was cleaned yesterday so will just need half an hour tomorrow and the food has been delivered and the bits I needed to fetch were pre-ordered so I just had to pop for them today.

Hate wrapping this close but work was manic and I never got chance to do last week.

Caravanoflove · 23/12/2014 15:26

Clean the house
Wrap about 10 presents
Buy 2 more presents for my nephew and Grandma.
But I'm snuggled under a duvet watching Xmas movies with my kids and it's so lovely it can all wait!

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 23/12/2014 15:33

I've got 3 or 4 more presents to wrap (last minute twitches for DD) and a cake to decorate tomorrow, and I think (famous last words) that's it, all ready to go. Spent today cleaning and tidying so no one is now allowed to so much as drop a crumb before Christmas to keep it clean and tidy it's never going to happen is it.

Homemade stollen is in the oven as I type this .

TheWordFactory · 23/12/2014 15:34

I have a bit more wrapping to do today.

Tomorrow will be all hands on deck. I will shop for fresh food, DH and DC will make sure all the spare rooms are tidy.

Then I will make the cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy.

Then make the Xmas eve supper.

SouthernOne · 23/12/2014 15:36

Just thought I'd rustle up some Paul Hollywood recipe mince pies. The pastry needs to be in the fridge for three hours grrr

Ironing and one room left to sort out.

LikeABadSethRogenMovie · 23/12/2014 15:39

I still need to do the food shop but I'm wasting time "pottering". I should get my butt into gear though as youngest are on early dismissal today and will be home for lunch. Annnny minute now then.... Xmas Wink

BiddyPop · 23/12/2014 15:55

A full reporters notebook page of little jobs to do - mostly cleaning and some prep work tomorrow.

Find the hot choc on spoons that I bought a while back for tomorrow night.

Find the 3 red placemats I bought SPECIFICALLY for Christmas (probably in the storage unit).

Finish laundry piles.

Buy logs and coal. And a few small grocery bits. And go to M&S tomorrow for nibbly bits, DD birthday cake, and something nice for tomorrow night's dinner (possibly something like the rabbit I saw there last week).

Go to the cheesemonger, and Leonidas.

I'd like to make a yule log with DD. We WILL make cookies, but whether that's slicing the dough in freezer to bake or actually measuring and mixing a batter will depend on energy levels tomorrow. And I'd LIKE to have time to do something glittery and gluey and creative with her.

Send a final handful of cards (after I manage to write them).

apotatoprintinapeartree · 23/12/2014 16:15

This thread is very handy, I dont even have to do my own thinking now. :) just remembered to get things out of the freezer.

Nativity3 · 23/12/2014 17:25

The house needs to be tidy and clean for guests tomorrow the family are conveniently out with Dp. I feel like relaxing infront of a film but know I can't until the tidying is done.

Any tips on motivation?

JuxaSnogUndertheMistletoe · 23/12/2014 17:39

Duck ordered, pick up tomorrow.
Vegetables bought.

No tree.
No presents wrapped.
DD's main present not really got yet.

This is the only time I've let dh dictate the timetable. I shall never do it again.

BiddyPop · 23/12/2014 17:39

Mince pies!! Eeek - I forgot about those....

lecherslady · 23/12/2014 17:53

Eek, far too much.

I still need to finish the ironing, cleaning the house, pop into town (half an hour away) to get the last few bits and do some food shopping, oh and we're at a party tonight, another one tomorrow afternoon and my parents are over in the evening!

So I'm burying my head in the sand, pretending it's all going to be okay and wasting time on Mumsnet. As you do Smile.

Bonsoir · 23/12/2014 17:58

I have a slightly anxiety-inducing feeling of haphazardness which comes from the fact that I am hosting three Christmas dinners on three consecutive evenings, starting tomorrow. I keep forgetting which bits and bobs I am serving which night and wondering whether I have the right number of Christmas crackers.

Eastpoint · 23/12/2014 18:01

Presents now wrapped. Definitely short of gifts for teenage son but I wrap £5 individually to add to the pile.

HungryHorace · 23/12/2014 18:05

My list is quite short:

Wrap 1 more present which was hiding last night
Make mince pies
Do one load of washing and get it dry / put away (plus half a load that's loitering from the other day!)

DH needs to drop a present round to his parents' house too.

I think that's it...only us plus toddler DD and baby DS on Christmas Day, so no visitor-type stress to cope with!
