Surprisingly calm despite the fact I've still got to:

  1. Wrap DD x3 presents
  2. Assemble Jumperoo and doll swing.
  3. Do food shop
  4. Clean house
I refuse to panics (yet). Merry Christmas all!

I had masses to do but can now say that I've deep cleaned the lounge and hall.
I've still got to
Buy sticking fillers
Do food shop
Clean rest of house
Do about 6 loads of laundry
Topup meters
Muck out chickens
Litter trays
Make mince pies
Wrap all presents
Wash new Xmas duvets for kids ready to go on beds tomorrow
Make paper chains
And dig out xmas crockery ready for Xmas day.

I don't actually know why the fuck I'm bothering because it's just me and two toddlers Xmas day anyway and then I'm all alone on Boxing Day while they sod off to their dads, and I'm having a bad week and for the first year in my entire life and I don't feel even remotely excited about Xmas and am not looking forward to it at all.

Bah fucking humbug Angry Sad

happsymum · 23/12/2014 12:57
  1. go cinema with dd
  2. pop into asda for mashmallows, hot choc sachets and any extra stocking fillers find.
  3. buy waitrose cheese hamper bits
  4. pick up brother from train station
  5. wrap stocking fillers, work secret santa gifts and father christmas gifts when dd is asleep.
  6. put all dp family gifts together
  7. tidy up the entire house
  8. panic... panic...breathe!

o dear.

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 23/12/2014 12:58

There's an extra 'and' in there. But you get the gist!

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/12/2014 13:01

Hope you're feeling better soon You'llLikeIt x
Voice of calm is helping BadKitten - but really must get out there at some point.
Still have fed DC cheese on toast. That counts right?! Also things have arrived, so just as well I was in, yes? Xmas Grin

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/12/2014 13:11

Shadows just do what will make it a nicer day for your DC and you for Christmas and then have a rest afterwards on Boxing Day?
You seem to have put a lot of stress on yourself and if it was me I'd be cutting a few corners for sure especially with toddlers

Songofsixpence · 23/12/2014 13:12

Am all done now apart from Sainsbury's delivery and DH picking up the turkey

Have made marshmallows, and then spent hours scraping it off the walls, floor, dog, my hair, the kids, etc, after helpful child number 2 decided to lift the lid of the mixer without turning it off first Hmm

DH's Christmas present that I was panicking about has finally arrived and is wrapped so We can now chill with Quality Street and Christmas movies

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 23/12/2014 13:16

It's all gone slightly to shit here. Couldn't do the last few presents because of a childcare disaster, my bank card got bent and won't work, and then today my DD is sick :(

Have shedloads of wrapping to do and then packing for the stay at my mum's, that is, if DD recovers well enough (I don't think it's noro or anything like that, it's because of coughing afaik)

NotEvenAnEnormouseStirred · 23/12/2014 13:22

Give the house a once over
Load of laundry
Wrap some presents for the neighbours
Make the beds
Go to gps to pick up a repeat prescription

Might need to pop to the corner shop for bread and milk etc tomorrow if we run out but I reckon that's it. I've been uncharacteristically organised this year and everything's more or less done.

OstentatiousBreastfeeder · 23/12/2014 13:33

Shop for Christmas food.
Clean the entire house.
Wrap some presents (thankfully not many as I wrapped as I went this year)
Cook enough buffet food to feed five people for tomorrow.

Did I mention shop for Christmas food? Because this is the only thing I'm panicked about. I'm going to get CRUSHED tomorrow.

Dontwanttobeyourmonkeywench · 23/12/2014 13:54

I just have one more quilt to finish, baste, quilt and bind....by tomorrow!! It will be fine (wibble)

MinnieM1 · 23/12/2014 13:57

I need to -
Bath the dog & wash her bed
Steam playroom floors (this will happen several times before Xmas I'm sure)
Nip to Morrisons for some bits - just milk, yoghurts, bananas & pizza toppings)
Make dough for said pizza toppings
Print photos out of the elf and put all into a photo album
Cellophane the Xmas Eve hamper
Paint my nails
Get my eyebrows done
Iron kids Xmas day outfits
Clean kitchen worktops & empty bin

...thought I was quite organised but it looks like a lot written down Xmas Hmm

MinnieM1 · 23/12/2014 13:59

...oh and swap my top for Xmas day, the wrong size was on the hanger and it's too big Xmas Angry

ToffeeWhirl · 23/12/2014 13:59

I just want to get our hot water and heating working. I have been waiting eight days for the plumber to return with the spare part and am beginning to doubt it will be done by Xmas Sad.

Emmamad · 23/12/2014 14:01

I'm all done! Last wash on, and then a mountain of ironing tonight with a glass of baileys. Christmas then starts for me tomorrow am!

WeirdCatLady · 23/12/2014 14:07

And why why why leave it till the 23rd, Christmas comes on the same day every year!!! Angry

dreamcometrue · 23/12/2014 14:27

Clean bathroom
Clean floor in utility room
Put washing in dryer
Wrap ds presents (Christmas eve night as they're at my dm's)
Collect turkey and veg tomorrow morning.

That's it!

zobey · 23/12/2014 14:38

House to clean. That's it.

RedToothBrush · 23/12/2014 14:52

Today
Get DS's injections
Watch Christmas Movies
Drink and Eat Mince Pies

Tomorrow
Finish wrapping final 4 presents
Decorate Ginger Bread House
Chill and 'Watch Its a Wonderful Life'

Christmas Day
Visit Parents 5mins away in morning for breakfast.
Come home and have Christmas Dinner which goes 'ping'
Drive to ILs 40mins away in the evening and stay over

So no proper Christmas Dinner this year, but also no stress before or after either.

(And we have already done the 10hr round trip visit to my Grandmothers last weekend so deserve the rest).

NanaNina · 23/12/2014 14:59

I need a long lie on the sofa after reading all your lists. I can't believe that so many people stress so much over Christmas when it's just a day. I am putting DDs in place for charities: UNICEF and SAVE THE CHILDREN - a third of the world is starving and thousands of people are living in war torn countries with nothing...........sorry I know I sound a bit ba humbug but I hate all the hype around Christmas.

I think Christmas is a tense time for many people, there is this notion that everyone is living their lives like they are in the TV ads and so feel they are missing out. Sorry I should start a new thread.

Ujjayi · 23/12/2014 15:03

Deep breaths people!

Just the cake to ice (ready rolled icing & silver balls...not remotely time consuming). And a pile of ironing almost as tall as me Shock.

Had 8am visit to the butcher this morning & food delivery arrived mid morning. Finished last bit of cooking: gammon joint boiled & roasted & ready in the fridge for Christmas Eve lunch.

Now watching Frozen with DCs Smile

DH has been allocated the final tidy & clean when he gets home.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/12/2014 15:05

ah oops. Forgot that for bedding to get dry, it actually needs to go in the dryer.

starfish4 · 23/12/2014 15:06

Need to do:

Buy three items of food which I found we now need following this morning's shop

Hoovering downstairs only (did upstairs earlier)

Ironing

Take my Mum to the cemetery

Am feeling chesty, achy and have a temperature so DH can do ironing which he doesn't mind. I might even send him to Tescos for the last items of shopping. We are pretty much there which is just as well, as we have different guests tomorrow pm, Xmas Day and Boxing Day, so I'm having a lazy afternoon in the hope I can shake this bug off.
