I think you need a couple of more gifts there Methe really, maybe a bike or 2? Grin

Notbythehaironmychinnychinchin · 08/11/2014 20:30

Hmmm methe I think you might be right Grin

Tykeisagirl · 08/11/2014 20:31

A lot of people can't afford to buy much for their DCs, there have been a few posts form people upset about their lack of finances for Christmas. I don't think this thread is going to make those people feel good Sad.

Methe · 08/11/2014 20:32

Should I buy her a pony or is one pony a bit stingy?

SeeChooJimmy · 08/11/2014 20:35

Tyke it's purely a thread for people to share, get ideas, not intended to boast, slate or offend and so far it's going well, to me chritmas is about family and smiling little face not how much other's spend, that's not my aim, it's just a change from list's.

Methe Shock surely that's not enough! Grin

Tykeisagirl, the original thread is on netmums, many people have bigger 'stash pics' and many other's have less.....as you can read from that site, there is no negativity on there, its people asking where they have bought such and such for what price etc x

Tykeisagirl · 08/11/2014 20:39

Hmm, so far a lot of people are taking the piss. To you it may be all about family and smiling little faces but not everyone will see it that way.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 08/11/2014 20:39

tyke like I've just posted on the other thread

I may have got lots for my kids but don't think I paid full RRP for any one present, for example I got the huge £60 batcave and I only paid £24 by looking for deals on Hduk and on the Christmas bargain threads on mumsnet

123Jump · 08/11/2014 20:41

Look, there was a whole load of nastiness on here and NM today, over posting pics of pressies.
I was one of those who stated without mincing my words what I felt about it.
However, the people on this thread are making it clear that you should only join in if you're up for it and going to be positive.
PLEASE let's not start another shit storm!!
Let's respect other peoples right to have a thread that they enjoy, and live and let live.
'Tis the season to be jolly, after all.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE LOOKING AT PILES OF CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR KIDS THEN DONT JOIN IN THIS THREAD.
Personally I don't so I'm off.
Grin

Tykeisagirl · 08/11/2014 20:41

I know about the original thread, and I know that a lot of posters here felt it was a bit much. If I could only afford a few small things for my DCs I'd find these threads very upsetting.

stareatthetvscreen · 08/11/2014 20:42

just realised this isn't a joke thread

Same Ignore, I paid £25 I think from toys r us, less than half price! x

Lilicat1013 · 08/11/2014 20:43

I want to come and play at your house LauraR, looks brilliant! The dolls are lovely as well, makes me wish I had a child who liked dolls.
Here are my most recent pictures

My older son is having:
Leapreader and books, Kidizoom Camera, Smart Snacks ice cream set, Wooden alphabet puzzle, Playmobil shuttle bus, Crayola white board and Leapreader spelling card set, Peek inside animal homes (book) and Peppa Pig Annual

The Playmobil undersea stuff in the picture is from his brother. The boys don't really have the understanding to choose each other presents yet (one is diagnosed autistic and it is likely we will be going down the same path with the younger one) but I want to get them in to the tradition of giving as well as receiving.

My younger son is having:
Cozy Coupe Trolley, Sing and Giggle Mickey Mouse, Green Toys fire engine, Wheelies launcher, Tiny 'n' Tuff car transporter, Lightning McQueen torch car, Dudley Dump Truck, ELC Bag for life, London bus book and Thomas & Friends Annual

The vTech train in the picture is from his brother and the dinosaurs have been swapped to a birthday gift. The Cosy Coupe trolley has Ford stickers on because my son is weird and loves the Ford logo, he will be really pleased to see them on there.

Finally they will be having the Ikea circus tent to share.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 08/11/2014 20:44

tyke then start a thread telling us what you can afford, what you are looking for and you will get lots of people helping with ideas and bargains

Mintyy · 08/11/2014 20:45

God, how gross.

SeeChooJimmy · 08/11/2014 20:47

Tyke I've seen threads on here where people are doing homemade Christmas's, tight budget Christmas too and I'd love to see their picture too and maybe get some great ideas from them, some of the filled cup presents etc sound amazing and a picture would be great too see rather than just a page of writting. it's clear this is just for fun and I would rather people joined in than feel offended in anyway,

Lilicat1013 my DS2 would go crackers for that Mickey Mouse!! We had the Dance Star Mickey but found it ate the batteries for fun! Your cats are beautiful BTW x

lauraR1989 · 08/11/2014 20:48

Why don't people post their home-made presents too? I know a lot do and personally I'd love to see x

Lilicat1013 · 08/11/2014 20:52

Thank you LauraR, they aren't both my cat's though! The ginger one (Albert) is mine and the white one (George) is his friend, he belongs to my neighbour but often pops in and makes himself at home.

They decided to be really helpful when I was trying to take a picture and lay right in the way.

TSSDNCOP · 08/11/2014 20:54

Methe I know you think you're nearly done but YOU'VE FORGOTTEN THE SATSUMAS!!!!!!

Methe · 08/11/2014 20:55

We don't like satsumas so I've stocked up on lots of coal and other fossil fuels.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 08/11/2014 20:57

You can have mine methe as I'm just spoiling my dcs with it.

lauraR1989 · 08/11/2014 20:57
