thank you Not, will look into it.

SkullytonFlowers · 09/11/2014 11:05

right, had a quick look, and briefly, the hudl2 allows you to set up child profiles in which you can designate their age (under 5) (5-8) (8-11) (11-13)

you can set time limits, block access to certain apps and any internet access that isn't age appropriate. so it'll block certain websites.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 11:07

I saw one poster on here though who had been through a silly amount of hides with technical problems, to the point tesco refunded her money and gave her vouchers while replacing the hudl yet again, so there are some problems I think. Oh, def wont hurt for us to wait another year then.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 09/11/2014 11:10

Grin RJ

What age group is Disney infinity suitable from as I have DD wii still in box with games she played only handful of times that DS has never seen.

SkullytonFlowers · 09/11/2014 11:11

and just had a go at setting up a child profile for ds who's 8.

it automatically blocks all the shopping, and peer to peer and 18+ content, it all has a slide bar that allows you to say allowed/blocked.

then it also allows you to go through the apps on the tablet individually and block or allow access as you see fit.

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 11:11

All that,I would maybe be tempted to buy him a normal kindle for reading then, and at some point get a shared tablet?

AllThatGlistens · 09/11/2014 11:12

Oh that sounds perfect, thanks so much for looking Skully Flowers

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 09/11/2014 11:13

With regard to Internet of Hudls etc I know with virgin media I can put restrictions on devices even what times allowed to access internet through wii fii setting

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 11:13

I think infinity is 3+ - my dd is 10 and got the original one last year for her birthday. She loves it, and the new one is supposed to be even better. It also works with the figures from the original set which is great.

sweetsomethings · 09/11/2014 11:16

It couldnt be more obvious what the thread is about by the title.

AllThatGlistens · 09/11/2014 11:17

Oh that sounds great too ignoreme he really is incredibly vulnerable with anything like that so the more control we can put on the better, we are with Sky... wonder if we can set up similar through that?

differentnameforthis · 09/11/2014 11:17

especially the ones who are engaged enough to be excited about Christmas with their kids (regardless of how much they can or do spend) are then not engaged enough to interact with their kids using the presents they bought them

Seriously? You think just because a parent buys a child presents/gets excited about Christmas that means they are engaged in all areas of their lives?

I can give you plenty of examples, but as always on MN, anecdotes do not = data & all that. So you won't believe ma anyway.

It's OK to live in a bubble where you think everyone parents like you, but they do not, sadly.

SeeChooJimmy · 09/11/2014 11:17

I've asked mnhq to change the title since someone is repeated over and over they don't understand it 22 pages I'm sure it would be clear by now but hey ho.

There are loads of apps you can use across both ios and android for sharing pictures and videos, and for video talk. Skype is the biggest one but there are lots more.

lauraR1989 · 09/11/2014 11:19

See you make me laugh x

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 11:19

see choo just ignore them, thread is back on track now.

lauraR1989 · 09/11/2014 11:20

Just realised I forgot to upload my shared presents bundle Grin

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 11:21

Laura I think some posters would need to go on Valium before you did that Grin

differentnameforthis · 09/11/2014 11:21

Ah I see the nasty name calling bitter brigade showed up then.

Some of the name calling is disgusting I wouldn't even dignify that type of language with a reply

And calling people bitter isn't name calling?

It was another attempt to be sneery, it was unnecessary, and while you can defend it all you like you and I both know that. It wasn't intended like that at all, it was intended for what it is. I expressed sadness, you interrupt it any way you like, but your defectiveness speaks volumns.

lauraR1989 · 09/11/2014 11:22

Thanks Ehric, am going to sit down later once the kids are in bed and try and compare the tablet's, as long as I can see them before bed time and share things I am happy, didn't know there was other apps that allowed us to do that

lauraR1989 · 09/11/2014 11:24

dont worry knitted il break them in gently Grin

differentnameforthis · 09/11/2014 11:25

Knitted longleat sounds great. I am unfortunately the other side of the country way to far for us and the days out with tesco vouchers for central scotland are rubbish Sad

no saying people are miserable is far nicer than the cunt comments others have said.

thanks laura luckily I've been flammed that many times on present thread im immune to others nagativity, im excited to give my dds their presents, I know they would appreciate anything the were gifted big or small, I feel no need to feed into people negativity I prefer to share like minded people ideas, photos and I enjoy seeing what their dcs are getting

it is like its a crime on here to spend more than a fiver on Christmas, birthdays, holidays, handbags or a bloody weeks shop for a family of five that include a 8 meal 4 lunch chicken. Grin
