Sixth thread Shock but it’s OK we are allowed to get excited about Christmas now as it’s September

I’ve been a bit sporadic with this OP in what has been selected for adding in or not as there are too many links to add them all in, hope I haven’t forgotten anything major. Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. I haven’t checked all links to see if prices have altered since last thread so apologies if youg et very excited followed by disappointed. I will try to do better next time. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Snowgirl1 · 11/09/2013 10:19

I bought a Hugless Douglas book as a result of this thread (I think) as a birthday present, but ended up taking it on holiday for DD. I want to buy a replacement for the birthday pressie - but can't remember where I bought it from. I've had a look on Amazon and The Works and searched the last couple of threads, but can't find it. Can anyone remember where it was from??

iloveholidays · 11/09/2013 10:23

I've still got the adults to go although tend to ask for ideas.

In fact still have loads to go apart from my DDs Grin

zipzap · 11/09/2013 10:33

There are 'personal health' gadgets on offer on play.com today as their deal of the day - things like pedometers for a fiver, heart rate/calorie counting watch for £7, blood pressure watch, Electric tooth brushes, manicure sets, razors and epilators etc. some big names like braun and Phillips. No idea how prices compare to amazon sorry.

But might make useful presents for difficult males (or women for that matter), especially if they are into being healthy or maybe need a push in the healthy direction.

zipzap · 11/09/2013 10:35

Oh and for the person looking for Melissa and Douglas jigsaws - tk maxx often has lots of Melissa and Douglas stuff in at very good prices.

Snowgirl1 · 11/09/2013 10:36

Oh, I think I bought the Hugless Douglas books from The Book People with free delivery. The THANKS code isn't working for free delivery now - anyone got another free delivery code for them? I can't justify spending more money on books to get free delivery...

insanityscratching · 11/09/2013 10:45

Mipe · 11/09/2013 11:05

Got some of these for birthday presents and everyone loves them so just ordered some more for Christmas presents - box of 6 chocolate loveheart candles for £1.99.

www.dotcomgiftshop.com/s6-chocolate-love-hearts-t-lights

They have some nice little candle holders for £1.99 as well:

NeverQuiteSure · 11/09/2013 11:07

How, HOW can you be on page 7 already?!?!

I will have to catch up on the 163 posts I have missed, but in the meantime I wanted to offer Thanks to Reastie and the rest of you lovely lot for the Tesco Squinkies bundle (I got the carriage btw, and have used some of the smaller bits to pad out birthday presents); the Charlie pop up book and the Vertbaudet codes which I've used to buy one dressing gown for £6 delivered and another for £10 delivered (including a colouring set but probably another bloody sports bag )

A few more books managed to 'fall' into my basket on the bargain booktime website, including:

This lovely Christmas pop up book for £5 by the brilliant and very collectible Robert Sabuda. For some reason it has not been listed as a pop up, and can been seen better here

This boxed collection of stunningly illustrated fairytales for older children for £7, again, the Bargain Booktime website does it no justice at all. It is also sold by The Works for the higher price of £10, but with the 20% discount codes and free delivery that come up now and again, might be a cheaper choice if you are not planning on ordering any other books. The photos are also much better on The Works website and you can see the presentation box. I have been salivating over 3 of the books from this collection for ages, take a look at the individual book reviews on Amazon for a better idea or google them for photos of some of the beautiful illustrations (Beauty and the Beast for example).

A few cheap Amazon books, for those of you who need a book to get free delivery or just can't resist buying books like me :

Mog on Fox Night for £1.50 inc del. Can't have too many Mog books.

The Pirate Cruncher for £1.75 inc del. Can't vouch for this one, but the reviews are very good.

Other stocking/hamper fillers:

Toothbrush and egg timers for £1.99 inc del

The Flight Before Christmas DVD for £1.99 inc del. We haven't watched our copy as I'm saving it for our hamper, but it has excellent reviews on Amazon.

Apologies if I have listed something already mentioned, but I haven't yet caught up on this thread.

iloveholidays · 11/09/2013 11:07

can I ask what age people would say the Charlie and the chocolate factory book is aimed at?

would it suit a 6 year old birthday?

iloveholidays · 11/09/2013 11:11

Never thanks for the flight before Christmas link, had been thinking about getting that and the £1.99 price tag has convinced me Grin

Mipe · 11/09/2013 11:12

Yes it definitely would :)
