The one after Robotgate, away in a manger it’s the 4th Christmassy bargain thread

Away in a manger is a nod to girlwiththeyellowhats - we await a live birth thread on here Wink no pressure to call your DC Holly or Noel

I can?t believe we are on the fourth thread already I blame robotgate for using up the last thread Wink . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Voldermort have you looked on pinterest for ideas for advent calendars?

I'm making gift tags this year using washi tape and Bakers Twine

JustBecauseICan · 25/08/2013 20:45

www.albelli.co.uk/

On the homepage right up at the top there is the free £15 code GIFT for new customers. There are photobooks for all prices, but obv the £14.95 is the best one to go for with the free £15 code.

Postage is £3.95.

JustBecauseICan · 25/08/2013 20:48

www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/free-photo-prints#photobookDeals

That's the other page with the mahoosive photobook. (Photoworld) Haven't done that one yet, so hopefully the code works.

TheOnlyPink · 25/08/2013 20:49

Livvy at 13 I think he is old enough to understand about the cost. We had this last year with DS1(5) and his nintndo 3ds. Ds2 was only 1 and like your children got a much bigger pile but it cost less overall. We explained to him a good few times before santa came that its much harder to make a 3ds and the elves have to spend far more time making the 3ds and wouldnt have time to make much else for him, but the baby toys were all easy to fit together so he could get more.

You could just explain to DSS that the ipad is really expensive and that if he really wants it then there wont be much else under the tree, but the smallies will be getting what seems to be more, but they are just babies. I think he will understand and tbh doubt he will care, its not like they are similar ages and getting stuff he would like iykwim.

IJustNeedANap · 25/08/2013 20:51

Personalised 7 in 1 wooden activity trunk Was £50 now £19.99

JustBecauseICan · 25/08/2013 20:52

Livvy- definitely agree with Pink- at 13 he will understand that an ipad is worth a lot, so won't get so many little prezzies.

sameoldIggi · 25/08/2013 20:57

To counterbalance this thread, have just spent a couple of hours putting stuff on gumtree to sell!

VoldemortsNipple · 25/08/2013 20:58

ilove I had a look at a few freeby websites yesterday. They seemed a lot of faffing around for very little return and a shit load of spam mail. Hence why I went to eBay.

Livvy I think at 13, your dss will understand the difference and won't mind too much, especially such an expensive present with big street cred. But what I do is place all the presents under the tree in one big pile and then pass them out so everybody has something to open. I speed up the delivery of one dc who has more presents. I will also bump out the presents by wrapping up things like favourite food and essentials like deodorant sets.

VoldemortsNipple · 25/08/2013 21:06

Mooseymoo I certainly have been looking on Pintrest and that bakers twine is exactly what I was talking about Smile

iloveholidays · 25/08/2013 21:11

VoldemortsNipple, thanks for that I think I'll give them a miss then!

98percentchocolate · 25/08/2013 21:14

Livvy - my parents used to go to Primark/Penneys, poundland, etc to buy budget gifts and wrap them up to make the pile look bigger. Cost the same and looked the same that way!

98percentchocolate · 25/08/2013 21:14

Thank you so much for starting the thread Reastie
Thanks have some Wine and Cake!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/08/2013 21:15

Livvy you can get him an app voucher to go with his iPad and umm that's it I'm out of ideas Wink I'm sure he will be too busy playing on it to be counting presents.

PoppyWearer · 25/08/2013 21:19

That personalised activity trunk posted by IJustNeedANap looks gorgeous...and I can't think of any little ones to buy it for, grrr!

NOT in the "bargain" category, but might sort out that difficult/picky female in your life (or even yourself), is a Birchbox subscription. They send the recipient a box of toiletry/cosmetic sample sizes every month, for £10 a month, and you can buy a 3-month subscription or longer.

I want a subscription myself. Grin

VoldemortsNipple · 25/08/2013 21:23

Yey... I have just won 18 beauty samples for a fiver smile

iloveholidays · 25/08/2013 21:23

Thinking of buying a selection of these to somehow make advent calendars for my girls. Thought I could either attach via a peg or stick onto a large piece of card for each of them...

Anyone seen anything better?

IJustNeedANap · 25/08/2013 21:39

Did someone post a code for Studio? I'm going to get te trunk for my DD and some Christmas cards but I thought there was a code but ant find it looking through

VoldemortsNipple · 25/08/2013 21:42

Just found this Harumika style studio set, which looks like it would make a nice present for girls who are growing out of toys but like crafty things.

ilove those bags look great. Dotcomgiftshop have some here but they are a bit pricey unless they go in offer of the week.

ratbagcatbag · 25/08/2013 21:43

Can someone repost the book people code pretty please? I can't find them

I've accidentally added the signed messi shirt to my watch list, I think as its at nearly £400 already it will sail over what I'm prepared to bid.

WithConfidence · 25/08/2013 21:46

Studio and Book people codes are in the OP. ^^^

iloveholidays · 25/08/2013 21:48

Oh VoldemortsNipple they look good, but I imagine they will just get chucked in the bin afterwards... Have been thinking of getting a wooden advent calendar but I though maybe I could get a large piece of card, paint in Christmasy colours then glue the paper bags to it, write on the numbers and fill....

Or just attach to pegs and string!
