So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Another one for MN 164??? I feel very undeserving to receive one, let alone two. I had a card through the door today, so can't say thank you for what it was as I don't know yet, but will pick up tomorrow. I wanted you to know it has arrived safely (and I'm very grateful) xx

I did snigger that the postman has written 'the mumsnetter of the house MN 164' on the card Xmas Grin

InfiniteFairylights · 13/12/2012 15:54

MN096 I have just received my parcel, thank you so much. I will very much enjoy sharing them with my children (if they let me get a look in! Grin) I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas x

MN037 · 13/12/2012 15:59

Secret Santa - thank you!!

I arrived home today to find my package waiting for me! Xmas Smile

It wasn't wrapped - so I didn't have to exercise any self control which is just as well!!

My lovely SS sent me a book (The Perfect Christmas, by Georgie Carter) & a Sainsbury's voucher which is perfect size for a bottle of wine & tin of Quality Street - what says 'Christmas' better than that??

Thank you so much
Xmas Grin

Thank you so much your parcel has literally just been delivered by a very bemused postman :) The gifts are fantastic you really didn't have to include for all my kids although I guess that the older dd's will be over the moon and ds will be very grateful for youngest dd you couldn't have chosen better she is a girly girl so will have fun and finally Xmas Blush and Xmas Shock at the card and amazon voucher you have been far too generous. I truly wish you and yours a very happy Christmas and a very special 2013 for you x

watchoutforthatsnail · 13/12/2012 17:09

Hi.
Im nmetter 210.
Was going to name change but im moving house, have no internet and am posting from my phone ( apols for any typos)

Yesterday i came home after work to find a card and voucher, what was written inside was lovely. Truely.

Mid move i missed the postman and ive got a parcle to collect tomorrow.i cant believe it! ( i shall post once ive got the parcle but it might not be for a few days and didnt want the sender worrying)

Im moving. I got evicted as my landlord wanted their house back. Ive found and am moving only a month from getting my notice. Im a lone parent so its a lot, and ive not been able to take any time off work as ive started a new job ( on the back of my massive work drama this summer)
Ive had an a&e trip myself this last week, the child is ill today on moving day, its freezing, im knackered, im absolulty skint ( and only affording the move as my parents have helped) my housing benefit was suspended monday ( hopefully my proof of docs will sort it out)
Essentially its all a bit rubbish and ive felt crap and not at all festive. But now i do.and its wonderful. Thank you, to my nominator and lovely donators, and avery merry christmas to you.

3girlies · 13/12/2012 17:34

3girliessanta it was such a lovely gift, I have the rose on my kitchen windowsill and look at it every day - it is just the sort of thing I would buy! Just hoping to keep it healthy and plant it out in the spring.
Really generous of you and whoever nominated us, so fab, thanks again.
Keeping the chocs for Christmas eve!
Xmas Smile XXXXXXX

3girliessanta · 13/12/2012 17:44

Hi 3girlies final item I was waiting for arrived today so will post it on to you tomorrow. xxx

SantasLittleControlGeek · 13/12/2012 18:07

MN074 Thank you so much. I came home from work after a rotten (and for me, quite scary) day to your parcel. When DP read the addressee out as being 'mumsnetter of the house' he couldn't understand why I was in tears before even opening it!

I have no idea why I was nominated, my initial reaction was to say there are others much more worthy, but MNHQ was clear in their email that it should be accepted in the spirit in which it was offered. So thank you from the bottom of my very grateful heart to my nominator Thanks , and to my secret santa Thanks .

stickyj · 13/12/2012 18:29

I can't name change, I'm crap at techy stuff. To MN 166, I am posting your parcel tomorrow. Not sure if I'm your only sender but I have had a lovely time sorting it out and I hope it will help at Xmas xx

bionicmummy · 13/12/2012 18:39

oh good, my SS has posted, was panicking because there are several houses in my street with the same number plus I dont get on with my neighbours so was hoping they hadn't taken it (similar number), but its not been posted yet phew

Pantofino · 13/12/2012 18:46

Hopefully mine has been despatched/delivered today.....

SecretSantaMN164 · 13/12/2012 19:18

saintlyjimjams - hopefully, that's my parcel to you. I really hope that the presents are appropriate, particularly for your eldest son. I didn't know what his needs were when I picked the presents, although your 'special requirements' gave me a clue. I conferred with my own eldest son (also 13, also with SNs) and I hope that together we have done ok .

saintlyjimjams · 13/12/2012 19:47

Oooh how exciting :) thank you xxxx

Peachy · 13/12/2012 20:11

I've been trying to post this for a few days so apologies, seems this thread wouldn't run alongside Dh's work program. no idea why.

An amazing box turned up with 6 individual, beautifully presented gifts, 4 for the boys with sweets and moshi monsters, one for DH and one for me. Whilst I haven;t opened it, I can see what is in mine and can only say a sincere thank you, it is so generous and kind.

I let the gerbil eat the box without remembering to note the number, but hopefully it should be identifiable- we are in S E Wales if that helps.

Again, thank you: we are due to hear about ds4's statement application any day, and it's such a nice and warming thing to have this arrive as we worry.

Merry Christmas to you X

MN102 · 13/12/2012 20:45

To the lovely Mumsnetter who sent such a generous parcel to me from Scotland, I would like to send you an enormous THANKS Thanks

Your parcel arrived on a very bad day and was like a ray of sunshine. Even better was having to go to the Post Office and give my name as The Mumsnetter of the House.

DD will love the doll to bits, but she aint getting the selection box Xmas Grin.

Thanks again, it was much more than I expected and it really made my day. I really hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

ss089 · 13/12/2012 20:56

hellonheels I'm so glad it arrived safely.

I'm pleased you liked the packaging I probably need a bit more practice!

I'm sorry that neither the choice of present nor shop is not very exciting but I was a bit stumped so I hope you are able to find something you'd like!

I don't think our paths have crossed, and I didn't know whether this was a gift for you, or for you for gifts if that makes sense. I've had a few worrisome days reading this thread and thinking I should have done ... Xmas Blush

So, I'll take up no more of anyone's time reading my drivel. Xmas Grin

Happy Christmas from all of us and best wishes for 2013. Xmas Smile

SuiGeneris · 13/12/2012 21:04

MN219: your package was posted yesterday special (tracked) delivery so it should have arrived or will arrive tomorrow.
Unlike others I had no clues whatsoever on what you might like/need so picked blind. I hope you like at least part of it!

NorksAreTinselly · 13/12/2012 21:08

Ss089

You did a kind thing
You didn't have to
You thought about a stranger and did a kind thing
That makes you a kind person

Nobody cares about packaging or exciting or being stumped or if it makes sense or worrisome things or what you should have done or taking up our time.

You did a random act of kindness.
That is a properly GOOD thing

coff33andmintspies · 13/12/2012 21:25

Peachy thank goodness it has turned up I just about to interrogate Royal Mail Xmas Grin

If I had known it was you I would have put in some treats for the cats!

Will keep everything crossed that the statement is a GOOD one x

Merry Christmas you and heaps of luck for New Year Xmas Smile

coff33andmintspies · 13/12/2012 21:30

That and I had written the MN number on the wrapper but I forgot to put the written xmas card in the box! Its ok on the gerbil having a feed though! Grin

HappyRecipient · 13/12/2012 22:29

Thank you very much MN178. One delighted little boy and one touched and thrilled mum.

And thanks whoever nominated us as well. Next year I hope to be in a position to give someone else a treat.

MN154 · 13/12/2012 23:28

Thank you for the presents. Much appreciated. Xmas Smile

Having spent the last 15 minutes figuring out how to name change, I shall now revert to my normal name!

Dozysanta · 14/12/2012 00:55

Oops DH posted package for me yesterday told him to put mumsnetter as the addressee but forgot to tell him to put MN020. So to the mumsnetter I have sent to I hope it reaches you alright and the contents are ok. The card inside supports Donna Louise as a clue. Merry Christmas
