So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Me too RibenaFiend, I'm a bit worried as I posted mine last Saturday. I hate the thought that it might have gone missing. Xmas Sad

Itsjustafleshwound · 07/12/2012 20:54

Glad my MNetter got their gift and I hope you enjoy it ...

Happy Christmas everyone ... This is what Christmas is all about for me ...

ShiverMeWhiskers · 07/12/2012 21:29

I am glad to know that my parcel has reached its recipient, I'm sorry I couldn't have sent more, but it was sent with lots of love x
Have a great Christmas everyone! Xmas Smile

FutTheShuckUp · 07/12/2012 21:37

Again thank you times a million secret Santa 071, you are a lovely human being. I hope I'm in a position to be able to do this next year. In fact I will pledge and prioritise to do it xxx

MN125 · 07/12/2012 22:12

To Secret Santa 125

Thank you so much for my gift.

I have been having a horrible couple of weeks and receiving an envelope addressed to the Mumsnetter of the House brought a very rare smile to my face today.

As others have said, your generosity has made me want to do the same for someone else in next year's Secret Santa.

I hope you and your family have a fantastic Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Xmas Smile

Thanks
MyNutcrackerSuiteAudrina · 07/12/2012 22:45

Fret not, MNers. I was getting worried about one of mine but it arrived safely after eight days. Very nail-biting it is, but there are so many reasons why it can be delayed and why people often can't get to or don't know about the thread.

Pictures would be lovely if people want to post them but this video from 2010 sums it all up for me Xmas Smile

For those of you with specks of dust already in their eyes you may want to have tissues and a stiff drink at the ready.

SecretSanta156 · 07/12/2012 22:47

Rabbits

I'm so glad the box arrived (and so quickly. I only posted it yesterday lunchtime.)

Your words about it being a box of Christmas Magic really touched me. My favourite book, when I was a child, was What Katy Did at School. Katy and her sister are sent away to a boarding school and can't get home for Christmas, so their family and friends send them a wonderful box with all sorts of gifts in it. Mostly homemade, and all sent with love.

Our gifts to you and your family aren't homemade, but I hope you all enjoy them, which are sent with love from me and my family. I'd prefer to remain anonymous, but if you can post some pics on your profile I will definitely have a look.

Merry Christmas Xmas Smile

SecretSanta156 · 07/12/2012 22:48

Nutcracker That video is just beautiful.

RabbitsMakeGOLDBaubles · 07/12/2012 23:09

I will ensure to have some very lovely pictures for you to see SS156. It will be January when I post them obviously since we are having a special late family Christmas. I'll hopefully still catch you then.

What Katy Did and the other books, were my favourites too. I was very much like her as a child, and I look forward to being able to give the books to my daughter to read in the future, since she's pretty like her too.

RabbitsMakeGOLDBaubles · 07/12/2012 23:10

(and it's my name, so kinda cool you know!) Xmas Wink

MN047secretsanta · 07/12/2012 23:14

Dog Glad they have arrived. It was a quite hard I'll admit Grin but not one to be defeated! Hopefully they'll enjoy. Merry Christmas to you and all on this thread both recipients and donors x

SecretSanta156 · 07/12/2012 23:17

Very cool!

I wanted to be Katy (apart from the times when I wanted to be Jo from Little Women!)

I love that chapter in What Katy did at School with all the Christmas gifts, and them taking some of the biscuits and a scarf IIRC to the teacher who had been horrible to Katy...I'm going to have to read it again Xmas Grin

I will definitely be around to see your pictures (lurking under my usual name)

Xmas Wink

To SS084

The cards arrived some time today, I got home late tonight freezing cold and soaking wet. A hard day at work, missing my girls and feeling sorry for myself and a lot bit lonely and unloved. The sight of the cards with MNer of the House actually gave me palpatations and I felt (for the first time in years) that I needed a cigarette Blush It just feels so lovely to be the centre of someones attention, and even though I don't know you, the lovely messages inside the cards made me blub.

I think there may be two of you so I'm going to put my thanks separately. If not then excuse my idiocy!

SS084 Thank you so much for the vouchers! I am so touched by your generosity and I think I read upthread that you Googled to check what shops were available to me, that is so thoughtful of you and one shop is a short walk from my house and the other is right next to my work, this is fab as I'm really trying to keep costs down.

I hope you don't mind but I am hoping to get DD a Christmas party dress with some of the vouchers, as she has a few school events to go to and nothing nice to wear. And I'm going to get some nice treaty things for us to pig out on Christmas Day.

And don't apologise about the glittery card Xmas Grin I have all DDs and we live in a disco ball (well it feels like it!)

So again, thank you, Merry Merry Merry Christmas to you and your family and Thanks for you.

P.S. You have the neatest handwriting I have ever seen!

SS084 Again I'm astounded by your thoughtful and truly generous gift. It's something that I would never consider for myself (cos I couldn't justify the expense) but I am over the moon! I had to Google one of them Xmas Blush and then I did this ...

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

(i'm such a pleb!)

Thank you so much, Merry Merry Merry Christmas to you and your family and Thanks for you.

Thank you to the lovely MNer who nominated me, I have no idea why you did but I'm so happy Xmas Grin, I hope that whoever you are you have a fabulous Christmas. And Thanks for you too.

I'm going to donate some of the gifts I have already bought for my DC to a local charity who collect Christmas presents for disadvantaged children in honour of you all. I plan and budget/save for Christmas all year round and my DC have enough, this can be my way of "paying it forward"

Apologies to everyone for the epic post!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 08/12/2012 00:22

Aww, I seem to have something in my eye again

(especially as I have nothing to do with the organisation)

MN084 · 08/12/2012 00:29

Thanks Norma, I needed that. Xmas Grin

MyNutcrackerSuiteAudrina · 08/12/2012 01:09

Norma how wonderful to see you. It wouldn't be the MN SS without you! You are, have been, and will always be a MN hero. You do know that, don't you? Xmas Grin

fanjodisfunction · 08/12/2012 06:59

MN064, thankyou so much for the wonderful secret santa gift that arrived yesterday, it is wonderful. Mumsnet is amazing I love you all.

SantaClauseMN083 · 08/12/2012 09:26

083thankyou

You are very welcome! I was glad to do it and just wish it could have been a bit more. I hope it helps this year, even a little. Or that you buy yourself something really spectacular!

Having such a lovely read, so wonderful, the real spirit of Christmas Smile

I had to pop out and very sadly when i got back I'd missed the post, well seemingly a second post, and there is a red card here addressed to "The Mumsnetter of the House" and even that made me have a lump in my throat. Thank you. I shall go on Monday but I didn't want someone to be thinking their parcel hadn't arrived safely, because it nearly has Xmas Smile Thanks

coff33andmintspies · 08/12/2012 14:20
