I've been asked by RebeccaMumsnet to start this thread. Smile

A big thanks to all at MNHQ for arranging this. You little stars!

When posting thanks, please give the Santa number that should be on your gift so that people can see that their gifts have arrived. Many thanks.

My Thanks :
A parcel from a very generous Santa has arrived: a wonderful Playmobil advent calendar to get our family in the mood for Christmas. I think I'm probably more excited about it than my boys Grin.
Thank you so much to the lovely person who nominated me - I am deeply, deeply touched by your kind thoughts.
And thank you so very much to my lovely Santa638. We will all enjoy your gift enormously: a perfect choice Smile. Wishing you and all your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, and a peaceful and loving 2012. Thanks

This thread has to be the most Christmassy thing about Christmas.

Goodwill to ALL.

It is lovely to read all the messages.

Merry Christmas to you all. xxxxx

NorksAreMessy · 16/12/2011 22:54

"nest of vipers-" pfffft.

I love this thread,
I love seeing people's happy replies.
I love that MN clearly had more people ready to give than to receive...lots of people were nominated more than once
I love that people want to say thank you
I love the happy accidents when people get presents for strangers exactly right
I love that loads of people say that they hope to be on the SSanta list next year
'the kindness of strangers' it is a very powerful thing.

I am still a bit tearful (and a bit tipsy)
I love MN

Solo · 16/12/2011 23:02

Thank you soapbox, you must be very proud Xmas Smile.

Further to my post upthread, I thought I'd tell 9082 that Dd chose a book set today with her £15 and I decided to swap Ds's £15 voucher for cash as WHS didn't have what he wanted with all that choice!!Hmm?? so I went ahead and bought two books that I know he'll read at some point as they'll be in my bookcases now anyway and he can choose something else with the cash. He did mention wanting a bodywarmer, so it may be that that he chooses. Thank you so much once again; two happy children Xmas Smile.

secretsanta233 · 16/12/2011 23:41

Happy Christmas Soapbox! And thank you. Xxxxxxx

Iamseeingstars · 17/12/2011 04:07

THANK YOU TO 1393

Finally had the parcel delivered to me and I am shocked at how much there is in it. there is so much and every single item is perfect for being in hospital.

I am sure my son will also love his present, but he hasnt been allowed to have it just yet.

I cant believe the kindness shown from so many people and it look like others are as surprised as me.

Well done 1393. I would love to know who are but a huge thank you and hugs from me and my family

Thank you so much for the lovely package of treats you sent, that arrived this morning, DS will love the lego and books (and haribo Wink), and thank you for all that lovely pampering stuff you sent me (and miniature bottle of wine!).

Iamseeingstars

Is it 13935?? I thought you might be my recipient and thats my number. I hope you don't mind me not name changing but it takes me approximately 3 years to do it on my phone.

VallhalasDogs · 17/12/2011 12:00

It's DogsBestFriend, aka Vallhala here (the name's a bit of a giveaway, isn't it?). I've registered only to give my heartfelt thanks for our beautiful gifts (Mumsnet match no. 100112 - I can't find a number upon the parcel or card for an individual MNer so I do hope that they can be identified this way) and will be de-registering as soon as I've done so. I hope that the powers that be will allow this to stay, not for my sake but for the benefit of the kind people who made it possible. If not please can you at least be kind enough to put a post on this thread on my behalf, expressing my thanks?

I'm truly humbled by the thought, big-heartedness and generosity of such lovely people... and yes, I DID burst into tears when I opened the parcel. My two girls haven't had the easiest of years and will be so, so delighted with such lovely gifts, as am I.

Thank you SO much.

Signing out now,

DBF xoxoxox

beautifulgirls · 17/12/2011 12:07

To my Santa 8881 - You are a wonderful and generous person. Thank you so much for the box that arrived this morning full of the most brilliant goodies for our family. I promise faithfully to follow your instructions and keep the grown ups things away from the children (it doesn't take much persuading!!). Your timing is just perfect too with the school holidays starting. I especially love the duck bath puff, that is too cute - the girls will enjoy that I'm sure. Thanks. I hope you and your family have a brilliant Christmas and lovely new year. Cheers Wine

I really didn't expect to get a second gift having had another delivery from a santa earlier this week. Mumsnet ROCKS! Thank you to everyone involved in this and whoever it was who nominated me too - I didn't thank you on my previous post and I had meant to. Next year I will make sure I am able to give back to others in this scheme.

Pinot · 17/12/2011 12:30

Awwww Vall Good to see you xx

tinselstix · 17/12/2011 13:20

Ahhhh, I'm so glad the person I nominated got something nice! I'm just sorry I couldn't donate - but next year things WILL be better.

Mumnset is bloody great.

KylesSanta · 17/12/2011 14:13

Kylesmybaby, I am so very, very glad that my gift was useful to you. I hope that you like the little box of things for you as well. You deserve a wee treat just as much as your DS.

I hope that he loves his Lego castle and that you both have a fabulous holiday filled with joy and hope.

Thumbinnapuddingwitch · 17/12/2011 15:26

I want to give Thanks to whoever nominated me - I was so surprised! What a lovely thing to do - and also a big thank you to my not-so-secret-after-all Santa who outed herself to me after I'd said I didn't mind her knowing my posting name Xmas Grin
I have already thanked her directly but will do it here as well - but to whomever nominated me, that really touched my heart and I was very moved by it - thank you so much!

CherrysOnTheNaughtyList · 17/12/2011 15:40

oh wow!!!! just got home from town to a box marked with number 3843, which contained a lovely wrapped gift each for the dc's and a card with an amazon voucher for me (someone obviously knows my favourite ever website) thank you very very much. i will make the children wait for christmas to open their gifts, and will order myself something online tonight. oh, and thank you for the little christmas decoration, am guessing your dc made it, please give them a kiss for me Thanks

BeautifulGirlsNominator · 17/12/2011 16:07

I was just checking in to see if my parcel arrived and saw your message BeautifulGirls: I'm so pleased you're enjoying your gifts - you truly deserve it after all you've been through. I'm enjoying remembering being on the receiving end last year and being able to pay it forward this year - Mumsnet DOES rock!. Big hug to your DD

Iamseeingstars · 17/12/2011 21:37

Leftmymistletoeatthedoor

I cant be sure about the number and the packaging has gone back home

I was very impressed with the contents and the variety of what you chose, including the creams, eye mask and the best one was the sprayer. I need something to spray my mouth because I am oxygen and strong medication and my mouth is really dry - thought of a mouth spray and the next day one turned up.

Had to laugh with the socks. I thought there was only one sock and thought it was strange My family were in hysterics when the peeled the two apart.

How are your family now?

Thank you once again your kind generosity. It was fantastic to receive all this in hospital

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 17/12/2011 22:10

Yay it was me! Am so pleased your my recipient. All ok now (touch wood!).

Anyways I'm sorry I couldn't send more, especially for your ds but I thought you could do with a treat and with having to post it so far I was pretty limited as you can imagine.

Oh I'm so pleased it might have made things even the teensy weensiest more bearable for you. I wish you all the get well wishes I can muster.

Merry christmas to you and your family. Xxxx

custardismyhamster · 18/12/2011 01:20

I've had nothing through yet (which sounds really ungrateful and I don't mean it like that) I just hope there's no secret santa thinking I am rude for now saying thank you.

Come on postie!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas

Santa638 · 18/12/2011 02:32

KnottyJustForChristmas
So very glad the parcel arrived and my elves had a huge amount of fun picking the gifts and the biggest Elf (DS age 5), assured me they were exactly what were needed! And I do hope the boys are enjoying playing knights and dragons throughout December (or have you been playing with it?!)
Anyway have a fabulous Christmas, we'll raise a toast to you all on Christmas morning - Santa should be just reaching you to drop off presents as we open our gifts!

Now going to sit down with a Brew and read the whole thread and have a small sob.

Santa6071 · 18/12/2011 09:44

Dear lovely recipient 6071

I do hope that your parcel has reached you by now. Royal Mail tell me that it should only take 3 working days to be delivered to you, even all the way over there!

I hope that you like your presents, I wish that I could have sent more but once I weighed up what was there the postage was already rather expensive :(

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family :)

Santa

I have name changed for this, I was nominated but have yet to recieve my secret santa gift. I hope the post office/post man hasn't gotten confused. Thank you again to my nominator, it was a shock to be told I was nominated, its been a very difficult year and you have been very kind!

MrsKitty · 18/12/2011 21:27

Just popping in to apologise to whoever the recipient of my gift is. Due to me being snowed under (not literally, thankfully Xmas Grin) and ridiculously disorganised, I only managed to get my Secret Santa gift into the post on Friday morning. It's gone 1st class so should be with you before Christmas, fingers crossed.

Don't want to disclose too much info, but if you have a 5 month old daughter, and have yet to receive your Secret Santa gift, then keep an eye out for the Postie over the next couple of days!

MrsKitty · 18/12/2011 21:29

Also just realised that I've outed myself to my recipient, so it'll be a not-so-secret Santa after all Xmas Blush.
