I'm thinking maybe a cashmere scarf or a remote control helicopter?

He has a scarf already though and it's a slighly dull present but then he had a RC helicopter and flew it into one the neighbours gardens never to be seen again so I'm not convinced about that either.

What are you buying?

Nothing.

We decided to put the money we would spend on Christmas presents towards a holiday in January instead.

Ambi · 13/11/2011 18:23

Just to be completely unhelpful.. We get each other exactly the same.. sweet FA. Sorry, not much help. We have a more physical gift giving on Xmas Eve Wink

myron · 13/11/2011 18:23

Kindle

SingingSands · 13/11/2011 18:25

DH wants a coffee machine and an ipad.

I'm just watering my money tree now... Hmm

ENormaSnob · 13/11/2011 18:30

Some very expensive fishing alarms.

Plus pajamas, chocs, smellies and a stocking.

LordOfTheFlies · 13/11/2011 18:32

Kindle -his choice.
already been bought, charged, checked to make sure it works and back in the box.

Now more important, what am I getting?

WhatWouldLeoDo · 13/11/2011 18:32

Pocket digital radio, some books/dvd's plus stocking.

fivegomadindorset · 13/11/2011 18:33

We are going away for two nights in February, he will get a token gift from the children.

Housewifefromheaven · 13/11/2011 18:40

i stubble shaver

allhailtheaubergine · 13/11/2011 18:44

We are getting a joint present of a nice camera - merry Christmas to us from us.

The children will be getting him a belt and some sort of camping gadget I expect. The dog will get him pants or socks.

natashakaplinkyplop · 13/11/2011 18:45

I've got dh a shaver, quite a boring pressie but he is incredibly hairy.

Pinner35 · 13/11/2011 18:47

My DH is getting the Apple TV thingy. He's into his gadgets and whilst I'm not entirely sure what its all about, I'm sure he'll love it. Oh, and a new wallet, some fancy expensive socks he's been coveting and some salted caramels (bleurgh).

rhondajean · 13/11/2011 18:48

DH has finally decided today to ask for a sports watch. I have no idea about them so much research going to be needed. He is going to be a personal trainer by summer so he wants something to monitor his own training and use with clients.

Ive also got him an ipod dock alarm clock, aftershave, a Clinique shave set, Calvin Klein pjs, and will pick up DVDs, Cds, itunes card, sweets, Lynx sets etc as we go. Im thinking about a watch case too cos he will now have three quite expensive watches and it would be nice to have somewhere safe to keep them.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 13/11/2011 18:48

Another one getting a kindle. He's buying me a watch.

Hulababy · 13/11/2011 18:49

Dh has hinted that he needs new golf shoes and some new casual day to day trainer/shoes and a warm jumper.

9y DD wants to buy him some new slippers too as she things his are too grandad like :D

teacoupons · 13/11/2011 18:49

Animal (the character) print lounge trousers, iDad slogan t-shirt, socks, Burberry cologne, Lee Evans' autobiography and a stocking as we're not flush right now.

We're buying each other a joint present - rockband.

Men are pretty tricky to buy for aren't they? If it isn't socks it's usually some sort of expensive gadget.

pommedechocolat · 13/11/2011 19:28

Dh wants a bottle of a particular type of whiskey and a new wash bag. I'd like to add a Hilditch and Key shirt on top of that but think my budget will be blown as will be on maternity leave by then!

RightUpMyRue · 13/11/2011 19:32

Keep 'em coming...

pigleychez · 13/11/2011 19:50

mine are bit boring as he tends to buy all sorts of gadgets anyway.

Bought him a PS3 game he wanted.

Also plan to get some more practical bits. Some of those ice grip things to put over your shoes as he walks to the station every morning.
Huge massive torch (think Million candles! :) ) Keeps moaning his current one isn't very good.
Wallet as his current one is disintegrating.

Huge bag of chocolate poker chips from the girls ( hes majorly into online Poker) plus something else that I havent decided on yet!

Told you it was boring! Poor DH! :)

supadupapupascupa · 13/11/2011 19:55

mine would like a work bench for DIY stuff and some hanging basket equipment. he doesn't remember this is what he wants of course

also on his wish list are 'classic' cds (???) whiskey, cheese, liquorice alsorts, a new dressing gown, new watch (which he would have to choose) GAME vouchers......

SpannerPants · 13/11/2011 19:56

5 new work shirts and a tie
Dressing gown
Cloud B twilight turtle
Stocking - so far has a catapult pencil and chocolate coins

Not very interesting but it's his birthday on new years eve so I can't go too mad on Christmas!

Kveta · 13/11/2011 20:35

i'm thinking of getting him some celts slippers - I got some a few years ago, and they are fantastic, warmest shoes ever!

he always asks for ties and shirts for work too.

For his stocking, will get some hotel chocolat chocs, and have got him a tin car. will probably add a £5 amazon voucher for him to top up his kindle, and maybe some basic toiletries.

80sMum · 13/11/2011 20:38

That's an easy question to answer. The answer is "nothing!" We don't buy each other presents at Christmas. Seems a bit daft.
