Some fab ideas! Ours has been a good elf so far...left decs for the kids trees, brought them a DVD, had a tea party with other toys. DS wouldn't get why he would be a naughty elf I don't think....cheeky elf however? Oh yes..

pigleychez · 04/12/2011 09:45

Teens- love the Blog. Great fun.

Well the kids were pretty well behaved yesterday and kept mentioning the elf so he appears to be having the desired effect ( for now anyway!)
Last night he went on my laptop and made an Elf Yourself video.

The girls loved it.. :)

Teens, I'd love to see your blog.

Last night Elf Pepper brought some new felt tips for the girls and some activity sheets (which I made- just dot to dots, help the elf to find his hat, draw a picture) it kept them amused for ages this morning!

My Elf isn't being too naughty, just a bit mischevious. He is definitely going to cover the place in toilet roll at some point though Xmas Grin

Pigley that is brilliant! So cute.

OvO · 05/12/2011 13:14

Our elf is very naughty. He was found playing in the bathroom sink with the bath toys, which would have been fine but it was how he was playing with them that's the problem.

There was a boat, 3 playmobil men (one of which was a policeman and had a gun), and a shark. One of the men was falling off the back of the boat and was half in the sharks mouth.

Yes, dear Mumsnetters, our elf was re-enacting a scene from Jaws.

I would let Santa know about this elfs "issues" but I fear for his job. In this economic climate I can't risk this elf losing his job. Not with a Mrs Elf and Elflings back home. I just don't know what to do.

Our Elf has been very good so far and today was found watching from above, perched ontop of the reading lamp. I do have a few more 'naughty' things planned though. We only started doing EOTS on Saturday so he's still settling in.
Kids are loving it and it does appear to be having the desired effect Xmas Grin

Last night Figgy crept into ds' bedroom and pinched a Christmassy puzzle which he then proceeded to do ... but he had to leave a note for ds asking for help as he got stuck! He wrote ds a get well message on the scrabble board the other evening ... I think it is time he got up to a little elf mischief! He can save the toilet paper for when the christmas tree is up ... any other ideas?

Our elf has been naughty overnight, he decided he couldn't wait until December 25th and changed my DCs calendar to xmas day and crossed off all the days on their chalkboard. And apparently, its snowing (according to the calendar). DC's loved it!

Can someone tell me how you do the green wee trick?

HoHoHoFunIntended · 06/12/2011 17:07

Great blog, pigley, love the font you have chosen, it looks very elfy! The video of your two dancing is brilliant, going to have to do that!

Got DS an elf costume, which is adorable.

Louey, I think it's just green food dye in the toilet, or toilet cleaner if it's green would work, I guess!

Xmas Smile Just added a picture of my little elf to my profile. Xmas Smile

sorry, have not read whole thread but I don't get it. Is the elf meant to be real? And do your DCs really believe it's real and not a toy? Do you have to place it really high up so that they can't see it's a doll? (or am I underestimating their imagination Xmas Smile)

thanks teens that would be lovely and I promise not to out you! do you think it would be too late to start it now for this year? I suppose not [hopeful]

pigleychez · 06/12/2011 21:10

sitsyou- Def not too late to join in. We only started on Saturday.

They definitely do buy the whole Magic thing. My girls are only 3 and 18mths and both understand, ( the 3yr old more obviously!) Even my little one loves finding him in the morning and keeps pointing him out during the day.

pigleychez · 09/12/2011 22:22

So what have your elves all been up to? I need some inspiration!

SnowFunIntended · 22/12/2011 18:25

How are all the elves doing?

malinkey · 25/12/2011 21:27

Is anyone else having elf withdrawal symptoms?! Xmas Blush

pigleychez · 28/12/2011 12:47

Yes! The girls keep asking where he is.
They said Goodbye to him and were sad to see him go but being little I dont think they fully got it!

I quite enjoyed it too. DH thought I was mad at first but towards the end he was coming up with ideas too and getting involved!
We even made an Elf blog! :)

The girls told our Elderly neighbours about Elf and them being computer literate, I gave them the blog link. They loved it and moaned at me if I havent updated the blog by lunchtime everyday as they were waiting to see what he'd been up to!!

buzzgirly · 28/12/2011 19:51

We are missing Jimmy the elf too. In fact on Xmas morning dd was more interested in finding him than her presents. Very sweet as she's only 3.
