Thanks! Grin He was so much fun to make that I'm thinking I might make my niece one too. Maybe a girl elf...

Anyone else having difficulties trying to get their DC to think of an Elfy name? DS1 is 3 and though all his dinosaurs have a name, he isn't coming up with anything for the Elf.

SnowHunIntended · 28/11/2011 20:54

Reshape, very good indeed, what a lovely elf.

Anyone else still looking, who doesn't want the official elf, I've found this one for £26: on Etsy, from a UK seller. Lovely fabric.

Pops head in just to say - there are Elves on shelves Here - if anyone is like me and late in the game and only decided to do this yesterday still looking for an elf.

I've printed my elfs report card and passport. Letter from Santa is all ready on pretty paper, my elf is in his basket surrounded by yummy choccy stars. Everything is ready for him to land his "hot air balloon" on our front lawn on Thursday morning.
I am SOOOOOO excited to see DS1's little face! We're sending off our Santa letters tommorow, via a gold helium balloon, and it shall be a gold helium balloon that brings Kringle the following day! I like attention to detail!! Wink

Alfie arrives tomorow!!! I'm so bloody excited!!!!!
Alfie will be arriving in his basket, with the advent calenders! We are sending our letter to Santa off tonight via 'the magic mail service'.

Alfie's first night of mischief will involve a build a bear teddy, and some superhero costumes! Hmm Grin

Ok Ive just opened up our efl, I didn't realise that they didnt have posable arms and legs?! Confused Have you undone ur elfs arms so they are free? So many elfy questions! Im very excited.

malinkey · 30/11/2011 22:40

Our elf is sitting waiting on top of Santa's letter by the fireplace next to the Playmobil advent calendar. I'm so excited I may not sleep! But I realise this Elf is probably going to cost me more than DS's actual Christmas present!

I don't have the proper one Need so don't know about arms, sorry.

Bugger!!!

Is it out of order for my elf to be a day late?? Blush

DS thinks he is not getting an advent calender this yr due to DD's intolerances etc (chocs out) Been at college tonight so not been organised.

Bernard the elf is in my sock drawer Grin

My plan is to post the letters to Santa that DC wrote yesterday after school tomorrow and then tomorrow morning Bernard will appear with 2 playmobil calenders. Hoping that because they get to open 2 days at once might soften the blow Grin Blush

glitch · 30/11/2011 23:43

Our elf if ready. (totally the fault of MN)
He has Christmas bag in hand containing book, playmobile advent calendar and chocolate reindeer.

My list of things for the elf to do throughout Dec is ready.

I'm just far too excited about this!!! Grin

I mentioned to my parents that I was planning to do this and that I needed to buy an elf. They kindly came back from holiday with one they picked up.

IT'S 2 FEET TALL!!!

It has metal legs under the felt so it can stand up. I don't know if my
DC will love it or fear it, lmao.

HoHoHoFunIntended · 01/12/2011 00:45

I need to see a photo of his two-foot height elf please!

Needananswer, I haven't got one so not sure how doable this is, but could you insert your own wires to make him more posable?

Hello fellow elfers!

Jimmy the elf arrived this morning! He came in a lovely box (which took me about an hour to wrap) with an advent calendar, Santa snow globe which Granny bought, a Santa activity book and a Tinkerbell tree decoration which we bought in Disneyland Paris in September. DD was delighted, but you should have seen her face when she realised that she was only getting one chocolate from advent calendar - she was furious! She's only 3 so won't be doing any elaborate elf hiding until she gets the hang of it - he will probably be on curtain rail in tomorrow - no chocs until she finds him!

Hope everyone else's DCs have enjoyed the elves as much as the parents!

WinterIsComing · 01/12/2011 12:17

Grin at the two foot elf, yes, picture please!

Ours magically appeared in the car after our visit to the grotto. We had read the book previously and the first thing DS did when he had got over his surprise was to shout at it Hmm and us because he wanted the elf to stay balanced where I'd placed him for the journey home and he wouldn't.

Was fine when we got home though and was delighted to find him hiding in the kitchen roll this morning. He seems okay with the no-touch rule too Presumably this is to stop enterprising children from "losing" the elf if they've done something especially naughty!

StaceymAloneForver · 01/12/2011 12:40

why have i only jsut found out about this?? sadly will be waiting until the sales, finding an elf and starting on my story books and list of pranks for next year, dd will be 8 next year so it should be good to keep her believing!!!
