Secret Santa Thank You Thread

I have asked in Site Stuff where to put this with no reply, so if it's wrong can you move MN please? Thanks.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous pack of coasters that we can put pictures in, and a box from Amazon with toys including a Rubiks magic puzzle for my ds's.

I want to say a huge thank you to whichever person sent them. They are perfect and the feeling someone cares enough to have nominated and / or bought for us makes a difference. Two weeks ago we thought we were about to become homeless after a bloody rough year and although that has passed we're still feeling very shaken and it's so good to have some light out there. Christmas stands between now and our ds4 being seen at the Paediatrician's request (for those who don't know ds1 has asd, ds2 dyspraxia and ADD, ds3 asd) and this has given me the Christmas spirit I was missing.

Thank you, I wish you all a most wonderful of festive seasons.

REF 24D

Thanks soooo much Grin

Parcels could not have come at a better time as I have been stuck in the house for what seems like ages as DD and now DS have got chickenpox.

I am being good and not opening mine till the day Smile

There is too much stuff in the box to list it all but it is all absolutely fab Grin

Tell your Dcs we especially loved the stocking they made Grin And DD (2) wants to go to bed wearing the reindeer outfit Grin

Thanks to whoever nominated me too Smile

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 10/12/2010 17:59

I still haven't had a proper look at the box from 76D - but I did manage another quick peek under the guide of "putting the towels away"

OMG - there are a few small presents (already wrapped) for me. The most presents I've ever had to open at Christmas (since I was a kid) is 2 Xmas Grin

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 10/12/2010 18:08

Oh bugger, do things have to be wrapped??

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 10/12/2010 18:11

no no no Santa - some people have wrapped - my lovely lovely santa has wrapped a few bits for me (yes I was stood up there shaking and sniffing Xmas Blush) and everything else in the box was unwrapped Xmas Smile

sleighBELLasringing · 10/12/2010 18:13

I couldn't wrap my gifts as they were sent straight from the shop - didn't seem to offer gift wrapping.

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 10/12/2010 18:24

I thought about wrapping but want my donor to see if things are suitable first.

830thankyou · 10/12/2010 18:47

oh my goodness thank you so much

you have been so generous and it will help us more thanyou can ever know

Santa31D · 10/12/2010 18:55

Recipient31D You are very welcome Smile

I'm so pleased the parcel turned up ok especially after the bad weather and glad that the kids gifts were ok.

My DD is much younger so it was fun choosing gifts for older DCs but I was a bit nervous I might have got it wrong - that's why they weren't wrapped, which I hope was ok.

Hope you enjoy the 'relaxation pack' - we all need a bit of pampering and me time! Grin

Happy Christmas to all mumsnetter secret santas and recipients!

castille · 10/12/2010 20:00

Waiting santa/ 38D

Another exciting day - collected a giant box from the post office earlier and I can guarantee that DS will LOVE it, thank you!

I have ordered things for the DDs with the vouchers - DD1's went towards something she really wanted but wouldn't otherwise be getting as it was over budget - so she will be a very happy girl. And they will both be amazed to know that a wonderful mysterious stranger has been thinking of them.

Thank you again santa Xmas Smilexx

Santa88D · 10/12/2010 21:04

I'm so glad the disney bits were ok and arrived without any problems. I only wish it were more. Hope you manage to have a lovely Christmas. Xmas Smile

Shock

I did a thank you further up the thread to 2D, more than overwhelmed at the generosity I'd been shown - the vouchers have already been spent on 3 things DS really wanted...they are now nestling at the very top of my wardrobe. Thank you again Grin

I've come back from work today to another parcel Shock from MNHQ...a book for me, a DVD and Hama beads for DS Shock

With a note saying more to come

Thank you so much MN...you really are making a massive difference this year to DS's Christmas

I hope you have a wonderful holiday, and know that you really really have my heartfelt thanks (in fact, I wish all donors and nominators that)

I couldn't imagine ever being part of a nicer nest Wink

Back to the wine before I get too soppy Smile

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 10/12/2010 22:31

Oh wow, I've just had a chance (at last!) to have a proper look through my box. 76D - you must be a mind reader - DS1 and 2 both got new bikes for their birthdays this year (this Christmas was supposed to be a "small" christmas because of the "big" birthdays - not any more) those little flashing bike lights are amazing. And the books - DS1 said just a week or so ago he wanted some books for Christmas!!!

The crackers, the gorgeous wrapping paper and tags, and all the party bits - thank you thank you thank you.

Santa110D · 10/12/2010 22:51

Dear Annie,
Am glad you received it. There's nothing like some lights to make things festive.

X

waitingsanta · 10/12/2010 23:34

Hi Castille - that is great, I'm so pleased you think he will like the gift, I know my 5yo DS would love one so felt happy about choosing that!

Just one more thing to come and it is for youXmas Smile.

shabbapinkfrog · 11/12/2010 01:02

I have been thinking....wondered if you could smell burning??? Grin

Many moons ago my DH and myself were really quite well off. We ran a pub in Middlesex and had shed loads of money. Then we started having children and we were luck y enough to have four sons. Very sadly two of those four boys died. Every year is such hard work...when you are very sad every last thing is such a struggle. Next year, at this time, I am going to be a secret santa. I now understand that it doesn't matter how much you spend....it is un-important. If I can make one other Mumsnetter feel as brilliant as I do right now I will be more than happy.

I would like to wish all Mumsnetters a very happy, healthy and prosperous Christmas and New Year. You have made my heart sing and made me smile xx

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 11/12/2010 02:42

flipping 'eck shabba - wish I'd seen your post earlier - I thought I could smell something burning and have spent the last 1 1/2hrs looking for what it was......and it was you thinking Xmas Grin
