Secret Santa Thank You Thread

I have asked in Site Stuff where to put this with no reply, so if it's wrong can you move MN please? Thanks.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous pack of coasters that we can put pictures in, and a box from Amazon with toys including a Rubiks magic puzzle for my ds's.

I want to say a huge thank you to whichever person sent them. They are perfect and the feeling someone cares enough to have nominated and / or bought for us makes a difference. Two weeks ago we thought we were about to become homeless after a bloody rough year and although that has passed we're still feeling very shaken and it's so good to have some light out there. Christmas stands between now and our ds4 being seen at the Paediatrician's request (for those who don't know ds1 has asd, ds2 dyspraxia and ADD, ds3 asd) and this has given me the Christmas spirit I was missing.

Thank you, I wish you all a most wonderful of festive seasons.

A lovely Disney Fairies colouring set and some pencils have just arrived here - Code 88D.

Thank you SO, SO much, whoever sent them: DD will be absolutely delighted. Thanks for such a thoughtful gift, and especially for making such an effort in this awful icy weather.

And a big thank you also to whoever nominated me: I am so grateful. It is really nice and humbling to be thought of in this way.

Here's to a wonderful Christmas for every Mumsnetter and their families: and a fab 2011. xxx

allgoodnamesaretaken - hi. Amazon was supposed to add the code to the end of the name line (27D) and was supposd to send it without real names, but never mind.

Glad the second parcel arrived and that the games and books are both suitable for each of your girls. I have an 8y DD myself so chose things I knew she would enjoy now and in the past.

I didn't ask for them to be wrapped so that you knew what was coming and could check the were okay first.

I posted earlier in the thread to say thanks, but have realised that as the senders MN name is on the certificate rather than the Secret Santa code; she may not have seen my post and realise that I have received it? I was thinking that as she put her MN name on the certificate she wasn't bothered by anonymity, but as some senders have done it by mistake....anyhoo I don't want to post her MN name here incase she did want to be anonymous, but it is the name of a character from a "complex and multi-level Russian novel...she'll know who she is I hope Wink

Thanks again for your very generous gift, and thanks to my nominator as well . This has helped make the end of a shitty year much much brighter Smile

madmouse · 10/12/2010 08:40

Oh my word I'm crying...

I've had a tough week, been in hospital, still recovering, struggling mentally, been up since silly o'clock with mind racing and then at breakfast time the door bell, and a huge box full of gifts for ds, a gift and chocolates for me and a lovely card.

Thank you so much - it means so much xxx

AttillaTheHan · 10/12/2010 08:56

Is there a reference code madmouse? Given your lovely message there will be mnetter waiting to see if it's them you are thanking!

madmouse · 10/12/2010 09:05

I can't find a code - the sender put her mumsnet name in the card so I've sent her a private message in case she doesn't like to be 'outed' on here

shabbapinkfrog · 10/12/2010 10:37

Oh my word....I just got another secret Santa!!!!! Oh my word!!

25D thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Thank you for my CD and my gift card. I am off to Bolton tomorrow to have a spend.

Cant begin to express how delighted I am. I feel spoiled and thats a lovely feeling Grin

It was my 54th birthday yesterday so I will definitely use the voucher for myself.

Think you were given slightly wrong information. I have 4 DS's - girls are very scary to me, never having had one Grin

Thank you once again. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2011.

xxxxxx

25D · 10/12/2010 10:46

Hi shabbapinkfrog

I misread the email and thought it said dd13 Xmas Blush. I've been watching this thread and twigged a few days ago that you must have been my recipient and realised my mistake.

As a mother of a 1 year old DD, though, I have to say that there's really nothing to be scared of! She's lots of things, but she's certainly not scary (yet Xmas Grin)

I didn't know anything about you when I sent the parcel but once I figured out who you were, I did a bit of forum-stalking and found out a little bit. I think you're amazing and hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas. I'm thrilled and delighted that my parcel went to someone so lovely who's been such a support to others in very difficult times.

And Happy Birthday for yesterday Xmas Smile

shabbapinkfrog · 10/12/2010 11:33

25D thank you so much. xxx

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 10/12/2010 11:38

OMG - SecretSant 76D

I have just received a box (I Xmas Grined at the fact it was an old wine box) full of all sorts of wonderful Christmas goodies and presents.

I haven't had a proper look yet - as DS3 is awake and curious (I let him eat chocolate while I whisked the box upstairs to have a quick peek).

Stockings, gift wrap, decorations, crackers, books, craft stuff, stocking fillers - I'm speechless.

I have confess the lovely little mittens will probably be too small for my monster DS3 - however I have a young friend who has recently found herself a single parent and they'll be perfect for her little boy - so I hope you don't mind if I pass those along?

Thank you to whoever nominated me. I didn't really feel I ought to have been - but I accepted the nomination "in the spirit in which is was intended" as I had thought of how I would have felt if I'd nominated someone and they turned it down.

The DS's have never had a stocking, but I'll be able to fill their lovely new stockings with stuff this year - thank you so much

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 10/12/2010 11:49

StewieGriffinsMum - you've very welcome and I'm especially chuffed you liked the cat purse :o. It was an absolute pleasure doing the shopping (I'm more used to shopping for boys so I was like a kid in a sweetshop) - thank you for the thank you!
