Secret Santa Thank You Thread

SantasMooningArse · 28/11/2010 18:10

I have asked in Site Stuff where to put this with no reply, so if it's wrong can you move MN please? Thanks.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous pack of coasters that we can put pictures in, and a box from Amazon with toys including a Rubiks magic puzzle for my ds's.

I want to say a huge thank you to whichever person sent them. They are perfect and the feeling someone cares enough to have nominated and / or bought for us makes a difference. Two weeks ago we thought we were about to become homeless after a bloody rough year and although that has passed we're still feeling very shaken and it's so good to have some light out there. Christmas stands between now and our ds4 being seen at the Paediatrician's request (for those who don't know ds1 has asd, ds2 dyspraxia and ADD, ds3 asd) and this has given me the Christmas spirit I was missing.

Thank you, I wish you all a most wonderful of festive seasons.

santa107d my parcel has also been marked as delivered!

RebeccaMumsnet · 17/12/2010 17:46

Hello all,
Thank you for all of your messages. I am sorry that people have posted gifts and they haven't been thanked as yet, I have been keeping an eye on the Royal Mail website and post is all over the place as we all know.
I know it's disappointing but please be patient, I am more than happy to track to see what is missing but I think, due to the weather, we should watch and wait for a little longer.
Do mail me if you have any specific concerns.

Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

blushingelf · 17/12/2010 17:50

i have also been nominated and am yet to receive anything. if you are my ss please dont think i'm being rude by not thanking you. Xmas Blush

weather has been fine here until today, i'm in south wales.

SecretSanta101D · 17/12/2010 18:12

ThankYou101D - you're welcome. I hope you find something to spend the voucher on.

The box of pressies for your DDs was posted yesterday so should be with you before too much longer. They were chosen by my DDs so blame my 6-year-old for the dubious tastefulness of one of the items!

I give up !! I sent my Secret Santa card over a week ago at the same time as I sent out my own Xmas cards (to all over the country) everyone else received their cards days ago - and I know the weather hasn't been bad where I sent the card.

PigeonStreet · 17/12/2010 18:28

Me too, Sent it at least 10 days ago before the post got really bad...

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2010 20:04

Don't give up DoNot - as has been stated - some people don't have regular internet access (one poster further up the thread had only just got her nomination email as she'd been without computer).

Some - if they're not regular posters/are having a shitty time in RL may not even realise there's a thank you thread.

I remember in previous years some posters have come on and thanked quite a few weeks after things have been sent, as for one reason or another they've not been able to before/didn't realise there was a thread iykim

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2010 20:27

ok - have searched - none of the "eek I haven't heard codes" have been posted in threads elsewhere.

However there are a couple of people that have posted on this thread thanking for gifts but not giving a reference number - (some saying they couldn't find one, others perhaps not realising?) >>>>>>she says hopefully>>>>>>>

I'm hoping that my first donor (76D) has seen my thanks further up

CherryTheRedNosedMonster · 17/12/2010 20:30

i also received an email saying that i have been nominated, but am yet to receive anything, obviously i am incredibly grateful to have been nominated, but mine may be one of the ones that hasnt arrived yet, as soon as it does, i will post. thank you all so much for all the support you have given me this year, and i wish all of you a very merry christmas, and a happy new year! xxxxxxx

From experience and from the experience of the MNers who have organised this in years passim: - I think that you have to accept that some people will not say thank you. It is not right, and not nice for the donor, but it does happen

DoNotWantAnotherMincePie · 17/12/2010 22:40

I hear you Norma but I don't want a thank you ...just want to know it arrived.

miSaltireandwine · 18/12/2010 08:27

I posted mine off this week, however it was going to Lancashire so chances are the mumsnetter won't get it for a while.

My parcels went off on tuesday, including my secret santa, and I know at least one has arrived (my godchild's present) so hopefully my secret santa has arrived or will arrive soon.

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 18/12/2010 14:46

dpd have had a huge back log of parcels. If anyone sent last week through these it will be very unlikely they will be delivered before christmas. No problems to speak of with dhl, parcel force and hdnl.

Thankyou so so much for the generous 25.00 of Tesco's vouchers. We're really grateful and will make very good use of them. It's a great idea at Christmas to be able to get some yummy bits and bobs that we wouldn't normally splash out on. It was a wonderful surprise to be nominated, and amazing to receive such a kind and generous gift from someone I've never even met.

I think it's a lovely idea to do this, so thanks to everyone involved!

MemooMerrilyOnHigh · 18/12/2010 17:28

Those who haven't received a thanks yet, what area were your items posted to?

StayingFatherChristmasGirl · 18/12/2010 17:43

Mine went to the South of England. Home counties somewhere, iirc.

MemooMerrilyOnHigh · 18/12/2010 17:47

Thanks SDTG, I am in Warrington and not sure if I quoted the right reference number when I wrote my thankyou, so is anyone waiting for a response from someone in Warrington?

LilRedWG · 18/12/2010 18:05

Will repost my thanks incase it's been missed. :)

48D - thank you so much for my parcel, which arrived yesterday. The baby clothes are gorgeous - I'm particularly in love with the fluffy brown coat. DD will adore the books, they'll be wrapped and put in her stocking this year. As for the game - I grew up playing that game with my darling Mum and Dad and can't wait to teach DD.

I've had a horrible couple of years and it had culminated in a few weeks of vile bad health. The arrival of a parcel marked for, "The Mumsnetter of the House", really brought a smile to my face.

I've still not figured out why I was nominated, but thank you both to my nominator and my Secret Santa - you are both lovely, kind, people. x

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 18/12/2010 18:29

mines gone to Doncaster.
