Hi, noticed this in 6 year old’s ear just now. Is this what wax looks like? To be honest it looks a bit like some popcorn (which we do have in the house) but ds claims no knowledge... Don’t want to embarrass myself at minor injuries if this is what wax looks like!
His other ear isn’t like this.
Thanks!;

Any news or video?

autumnboys · 25/01/2019 22:04

One of my kids put Blu-tak in his ear to drown the noise of his brother going on and on. It was in there for about 6 months before I took him to the Dr because his speech was getting so quiet. GP had a look & pulled it out. It had.....stuff stuck to it. Envy voice returned to normal volume almost straight away.

Good luck, hope your little one is better soon. Flowers

Smeeeeeee · 25/01/2019 22:14

Laughing at all these stories. Especially the brother who put a ball bearing in his ear so he could read people's minds Grin

Hope you're home soon

Angelicwings · 25/01/2019 22:16

It does look like a bit of popcorn whatever it is!

LunaLovesgood · 25/01/2019 22:17

I used to know a family and the girl rolled up some stickers and stuck them in her ear so her brother couldn't get them. Mum and dad had no idea until they took her to the doctors about a month later as they were concerned about her hearing Grin

userxx · 25/01/2019 22:19

I'd go with popcorn.

babyinthacorner · 25/01/2019 22:20

My 18 month old DS had something that looked similar in his ear. Was light yellow/greenish and looked hard and cracked. I took him to the pharmacy for advice and they told me to take him to the GP. Even the GP couldn’t say what it was, but gave him antibiotics for an ear infection as his ear was so blocked she couldn’t see into it at all. I’m guessing from what MI said that they think it’s a foreign object rather than an infection?
Hope you’re not waiting too long, OP.

MustDust · 25/01/2019 22:23

Hope you're not waiting too long. Been there with Lego up the nose, hope it's an easy removal.
