Hi,

I created a new thread as the old one is reaching its limit.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Greencouch · 27/10/2022 10:20

I've just phoned them again and I have to wait another couple of weeks as its gone to the national insurance number department. Has anyone else had this?

I'm waiting for the manager to call me back as I am not happy with bring told another couple of weeks!

alwaysonthegomum · 27/10/2022 10:26

@Greencouch ive never heard of that before, I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about x

MissEllie2 · 27/10/2022 10:35

Do you receive child benefit? Is it something to do with not knowing the child’s national insurance number? Try not to worry, I know it’s so much easier said than done x

I have always been doubtfull she will get it and as still no decision it makes me think no as taking longer but we shall see yh I won't call again now untill Monday as that's a week from them having it, let me know if you hear anything x

alwaysonthegomum · 27/10/2022 10:58

@Hayhoarematthews what did you send in as evidence? It’s hard not to be negative when it takes so long. I’m in the same mindset if I’m honest x

Her pediatrician letters and supporting letters from her bladder and bowel nurse and school senco, her repeat prescriptions, the reason for her claim is bladder and bowel incontinence for last 3 years she's nearly 10 I wouldn't of applied if bladder nurse didn't say to as its not getting any better, yh it is especially as I haven't seen anyone mention the same issues as my daughter x

Pictureperfect3rdtime · 27/10/2022 11:07

Bit later than most claims here, I made a claim on the 2nd September, my son has recently been awarding a mobility car through the family fund as hes under 3 years old and cannot apply for mobility for dla.

Should I send this evidence in? I did say about my sons mobility in the care section and I understand that he cannot get mobility for him yet. His mobility effects his day to day due to health conditions

alwaysonthegomum · 27/10/2022 11:08

@Hayhoarematthews i very much doubt you will be refused, decision goes on care needs and it seems your daughter needs much more care than a child of her age.
i can’t understand why it’s taking so long to decide but at least you know at the most the next few days and your wait will be over x

I know a few people have said that and she's also on 4 lots of meds a day to help her it's just the waiting in limbo even if she gets the low amount it will help just with her day to day care and a much needed waterproof mattress aswell

alwaysonthegomum · 27/10/2022 11:27

@Hayhoarematthews there’s light at the end of the tunnel and your nearly there. I’d be very surprised if you got refused.. x

Polly21x · 27/10/2022 12:04

Glad I found this post! I’m also waiting for a decision from new claim for dla my scan date was 22nd of July and I’ve still not got a decision!! And I’ve called there not very helpful at all! Everyone says different things mine was supposed to be with a dim last week and I was told I’d hear this week and yep nothing! I called this morning and a rudely spoken lady basically said just wait! It was with a case manager but did not answer when I asked was a case manager and dm same so yeh currently super stressed

alwaysonthegomum · 27/10/2022 12:06

@Polly21x they are the same thing as far as I’m aware. There are some really rude ones, I get their busy but I don’t think they can comprehend just how much anxiety the wait is for people on the other end of the phone. X

Polly21x · 27/10/2022 12:07

Mine was scanned on the 22nd of July I’ve got no decision yet 🤦‍♀️

Hayhoarematthews · 27/10/2022 12:10

I think it's luck of the draw when you ring I have had a few rude people and who have all been ladies unless been thr same one 🤣 but there has been a few helpfull ones who have given alot of information my claim is with dm and has been for a few days so the anxiety is building as each day passes

KtlouiseT · 27/10/2022 12:13

Hello, first time posting but been following for a while, scan date 25th of July, not heard anything as yet.

Polly21x · 27/10/2022 12:16

I agree it’s so stressful I phoned Last week and a man was super helpful he told me it was with the dm and I should get a decision by the end of this week I no I still have a few days but I could not help but to call this morning and wish I had not! All hope I had on decision being soon she has made me feel as if I’m way off x

Polly21x · 27/10/2022 12:19

Also has anyone been told how long each case stays with Dm? As I’ve heard apparently once with dm it’s 2 weeks I asked the lady this morning she said it’s not true it’s however long it takes all though she was rude and didn’t seem like she had much effort to talk lol 😂

I'm the 25th and mine has been with a dm since Tuesday so hopefully yours is the same

WhatArentWeGoingToDo · 27/10/2022 12:19

I had a scan date of 21st July. Someone from the dept called me on Tuesday to ask a couple of questions. Convinced myself my daughter wasn't going to get awarded, so called today... She was awarded 2 days ago - HRC & LRM until 2026. I'm so happy & relieved that somebody has listened and she can get the help she needs.

I have been told up ton2 weeks depending on the case evidence ect, If that was me I would be ringing up this afternoon and hoping for a nicer person 🤣🤣

alwaysonthegomum · 27/10/2022 12:22

@WhatArentWeGoingToDo that’s brilliant news.
@Polly21x that was like the lady I spoke with on Tuesday very rude and couldn’t wait to get off the phone, luckily you only get off one that’s like that most are really helpful. X

Polly21x · 27/10/2022 12:23

That’s great so happy for you the wait is over for you🥳 my scan date is the 22nd July and I’ve had no phone calls or anything like that hope I hear soon

Polly21x · 27/10/2022 12:25

I was thinking the same lol she seemed so dull made me feel bit silly for calling tbh like she said quiet a few times it’s a matter of waiting shouldn’t be to long now And even I asked how will I hear by post or text she was like I’m not sure it’s a case of waiting! 😡
