EARLY LABOUR ADVICE TO KEEP THINGS GOING PLS

Pg with my 2nd and I've had a 2nd sweep and i'm 2 to 3 cm dialated, as soon as had second sweep i had contractions every 5 mins got really painful especially down below where i had the familiar pulling and stretching feeling. They died down a bit but still had tightenings. Now they've picked up again but not getting the pulling feeling. Just back and cramp and bloody tight.

Can someone give me tips to keep things going? I was walking around garden which brought back pains and now on birthing ball.

Good morning missy - hope you're feeling ok, lovely lady! Your baby is on the move! How exciting!
.. and as for the long labour, maybe bub likes a gentle warm up before a sprint finish???

missyhols · 08/09/2007 07:43

Getting frustrating now. I was in agony from start with dd. We'll see.

Hope you come back with good news for us all

Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/09/2007 09:35

Good luck missy, she'll be worth the wait. Mine was slow at the beginning but definately a sprint finish towards the end. Infact is was soooo fast I remember very little.

Thanks guys. Not much happening still 2 cm but my cervix is open and really soft. Been told as soon as my waters were to break it'll prob be a really quick labour. I'm just so down with feeling crap and tired and my spd. I'm terrified my depression will come back which i suffered with last time.

How was you before my contractions have gone erratic now. I'm so fed up

I'm not surprised you're feeling down - you're filled with crazy hormones, and you've been waiting a while. try not to worry though, once you are into labour 'properly' everything will look very different. Sending you lovely birthy vibes and a hug too.

I don't think you'll have to wait til monday missy. Keep active today, eat and drink lots and try to get dh in the mood again!!

Will be thinking of you. It's often true that if things start slowly then the last bit will be a doddle, good luck. xxx

3andnomore · 08/09/2007 13:54

Missy...oh, and I was hoping it may well have already happened...but you know slow labour does have it's advantagesIt gives teh Baby the time to get intels into a good position and often makes labourpains much easier to cope with. The others are right, eat well, rest way, and basically ride the tide here It won't be to long now, I am sure of it Best of luck with it all!
Get hold of some clary sage oil and add that to a bath

Callmeovercautious...when I had es we lived in Bassingbourn, now we actually live in Corby (bought our own house, as dh hasn't got that many years left in the army, and corby suited us, houseprice wise, distance to his work and the inlaws..etc...)

Thanks girls. I've just had a hour and half nap as i was SO tired. My belly feels so sore too. I just wish that the contractions would remain reg and pick up a bit. Something happen please!

I've given up on sex even that don't work.

Curry for Dinner tonight then? Maybe not - wind in Labour is bad enough
If you are lying down keep on your left so baby does not turn back to back - DD did this and it hurt!!!!!!!!!! She did a whole spin and ended up the right way again but it made my contractions super strength

Having only done this once myself I am running out of top tips

missyhols · 08/09/2007 17:19

Lol. I'm about to have a clary sage bath. Feel odd today i'm so tired and I've got a headache on top. Hopefully something will happen soon. At least I've got my doc apt on monday morn so that gives me some comfort. I've had paracetamol as i'm getting some pains and it should get rid of this headache too.
