EARLY LABOUR ADVICE TO KEEP THINGS GOING PLS

Pg with my 2nd and I've had a 2nd sweep and i'm 2 to 3 cm dialated, as soon as had second sweep i had contractions every 5 mins got really painful especially down below where i had the familiar pulling and stretching feeling. They died down a bit but still had tightenings. Now they've picked up again but not getting the pulling feeling. Just back and cramp and bloody tight.

Can someone give me tips to keep things going? I was walking around garden which brought back pains and now on birthing ball.

See I know Darcy can be a boys name, too..but for me as a boys name it sounds to female, iykwim...same as Ashley, dispite being a both sec name, for me I would only consider naming a boy that...

Saying that, I am not Brittish, so, what do I know, lol..no idea of the history of the names...

there is a little girl called Darci in the Nursery my ys goes too...think she might be polish or russian though....as the spelling strikes me as kind of wrong...

missy, with ms, I had a very slow labour, and even though contrqactions were really wuite regualrly, I did not experience really that painful...but labour was progressing nicely, and in my case back then I am sure it was me myself slowing labour down, because I wanted dh to be there...he was in Northern Ireland (he is in the army and at the time there was the firefighter striking going on), ms was born 1 hour after the arrival of my dh...the moment he came into the room my contractions got really strong and painful....

you know a lovely bath will help you find out if this is the real ting or not...if in warm water contractions stop, you are not in proper labour, if they continoue or get stronger you are...and I don't believe that having a nice relaxing bath will slow down labour if you are in real labour, the same as I don't believe that if you are not in true labour but you don't have a bath, it will become real labour for avoidig the bath...

still remebre all my labours, but especially my first one
It was midnight, and I had the runs (sorry tmi)...so at first I thought I had gotten a bug... and then realised that by like 1-2am there were also some mild cramps along with it...
then I went into the bath, and our bathroom lights were broken, so, I lit lots of candles (dh informed me, after me informing him that I thought I might actually be in labour, to wake him wheni must...men..) and read Little Women (this was only the 2. book I read in english...first one being Daddy Long legs), by 4 ish, I think I woke my mum up (who was visiting us at the time )because my contractioons became more painful...now that women really stressed...well, by 5 I was out of the bath and dh was woken, and then, after some dry toast I called Hospital (Rosie amternity in Cambridge)...and rememerb midwife asking how far aparty (3 minutes) how long...(about a minute)....oh, you don't really need to come in yet unless you want to...seeing that you are a first time mum (hmmmm)...well...we were in hospital between 6-7am anywya, and es was born just a bit after 9am....so...possibly was a good move we went when we did...lol...
sorry just reminiscing (sp?)

WEAtling I think I may have been just unlucky...the intern was rubbish and I assume a womenhater and certainly not for Birth itself and may have needed another C-section under his belt to be able to move on...the mw was just I don't know...what sort of woman comments to teh dh of a frightened and labouring women that is crying, because she is just terrified t5o be in that situation, is she always like this...erm...no,, ususally I am at my calmest ever when giving Birth, grrr....didn't help that she had a very strong irish accent I could not understand....even dh who is englsih, born british, etc...had problems to undestand her...and maybe there was that whole south norht divide and brittish army not the friendly side for said person...I do not know...but hope no other women has that sort of experience, whielst knowing that sadly all over the worlkd women of course have even worse experiences...

missyhols · 07/09/2007 21:35

well i'm not finding them too painful i'm uncomfortable but not too bad. They seem bit closer. I'm going to start timing the length of them i think as they seem to linger
