EARLY LABOUR ADVICE TO KEEP THINGS GOING PLS

Pg with my 2nd and I've had a 2nd sweep and i'm 2 to 3 cm dialated, as soon as had second sweep i had contractions every 5 mins got really painful especially down below where i had the familiar pulling and stretching feeling. They died down a bit but still had tightenings. Now they've picked up again but not getting the pulling feeling. Just back and cramp and bloody tight.

Can someone give me tips to keep things going? I was walking around garden which brought back pains and now on birthing ball.

oh yes, ys was a lovely story, dispite him being back to back, and well, him turning and twisting in his cord and heartbeat going down, and him being turned via deep internal...and him being a bit blue at birth...those things, really went into shadow, they are not the main things I remember...I still remeber them, but not as negative...which is so weird, if you think about it

watling all in all, I think irish people are absolutely wonderful and really kind and caring and I generally do love the accent.
and yes, actually it must have been the norht bit...and well, being that near londonderry...

however, my mw that was with me for all of my labour at home (as he was meant to be a hm) was soso lovely, and incidently she lived in the village near by us then, which was out of bounds for us (other then driving through to get from a-b) because they hated the army so much....honestly she was wonderful, and I believe was pressured to transfer me by the other m/w etc...she was fabulous and made sure that she gave me the postnatal support and made sure all my postantal appointments were with her, etc...

Honest, it did NOT put me of Irish people

I aven't been here that long really...about a year, lol..but still think I am a newbie of kinds....on mn anyway

Mrsjaffabiffa · 07/09/2007 21:55

missyhols, sounds like things are definately moving for you. I had no3. 4mths ago and this sounds very much like the start of mine. Do try to rest though, I know it's virtually impossible when your mind is racing but it will help. Nothing you do will keep labour going. If it is real labour then it will continue, resting or sleeping will not stop it.

lol at the international birth partners. I'm in France btw

Good Luck sweetie and I'll be checking for a birth announcement.

callmeovercautious · 07/09/2007 22:00

Had DD at Addenbrokes! I love them there!

3andnomore · 07/09/2007 22:02

you moved volunterily or are you with the army and move about ?

missyhols · 07/09/2007 22:35

Well just before i get some sleep. I'm getting contractions every 5 mins and lasting about a min but i'm still not what i would call in pain! So i'm worried its not happening. Sad i know! Although its been like this now from about 3pm

I raeally have a good feeling for you...and well, with my own I have actually never been wrong, had no false alerts (well, wit es I had bad pain at 18 weeks and mistook it for contractions, as very painful, and as I had a m/c before him , I may well have bee more on edge....but that is kindas a differnet thing, right)....

3andnomore · 07/09/2007 22:40

Saying that, at the time I would never truely commit myself to that, as to avoid embaressment incase it wasn't, lol...

meandmy · 07/09/2007 22:42

What do my international birth partners think

DaisyMOO · 07/09/2007 22:56

I really don't want to sound like I'm putting a downer on things, but it is a common side-effect of sweeps for them to start off contractions which make you think you're going into labour, only for them to fizzle out. If you are going into full-blown labour then it will just happen, you don't need to be walking around or bouncing on a ball, really. Personally I would suggest a nice warm bath, maybe a glass of wine and bed. If you wake up with strong contractions, great, but in the meantime just try and get some rest.

missyhols · 07/09/2007 23:07

Def getting stronger gave up on ball ages ago. Now lying in bed trying to get sleep. Spoke to del suite so they are aware.

Am still here Missy! Had to have food and settle DD.

Hope you are still ok and don't expect any reply as am hoping you are resting!!!!

3andnomore - not here with Army but grew up with it! Assume you are at a wet sandy place Am about 10 miles from you in RL.

missyhols · 07/09/2007 23:12

I'm going to try and sleep now before they really do start getting painful. They're ok at min but gradually starting to get sore. Speak soon x

Let us know how lovely she is when she arrives Good Luck x

missyhols · 08/09/2007 06:43

Well i slept through alot of night. Pains had really picked up only to die down again. I've just woke up and still got something going on. I think this is going to be a hell of a slow labour. Might go to d suite to see if I've dialated any further and check on bubs.
