Just curious really. Have 3 weeks to go til EDD but would be more than happy to go into labour today!
Most people said 1st time mums are usually late so just wanted to see if this was true!

PPS (37 weeks today!) XX

started to get mild contractions on tuesday morning. Got more painful Went into hospital in the wee hours of wednesday morning. Waters broke at around 10am wednesday. Was induced at 1230 after nothing happening. Was sent home on wednesday night as nothing was happening, but was having painful contractions. Spent thursday showing my grandparents around, while having contractions at about 5mins apart lasting a minute. Went back into hospital at 2am friday morning. Was induced again at 6am had only dialated 4cms. Had emergency C section And he was born at 11.55am friday.
Altogether around 38hours of active labour

Lazylou · 25/07/2007 07:12

maveta · 25/07/2007 09:19

3 days over edd and labour 16 hours (after 16 hours of being in hospital Doing Nothing when I was admitted after waters breaking..zzzzz...)

BigHotMama · 25/07/2007 09:32

12 days overdue
After being induced and it failing after 48hrs of contractions and only reaching 6cm dilation, I ended up having an emergency CS, wasnt what I had imagined but was just glad to have my gorgeous little bundle in my arms and pain was worth it.

WinkyGirl · 27/07/2007 20:35

One week late - 33 hour labour.

Hope yours isn't too late

hayley2u · 27/07/2007 21:26

was in labour for 15 hours. was 41 1/2 over

puffylovett · 27/07/2007 21:36

fought hard to go 18 days over without induction.. waters broke at 8.30am, started active labour about 2pm and gave birth at 2.15am the following morning.
Kept active, hiked, shopped, cleaned, bounced on ball, had baths and stayed at home till i was 6cm - had 20mins of gas and air thro transition and a v quick natural delivery. best of luck, hope you get the experience you hope for !

Cazzybaby · 30/07/2007 21:29

Very scared 1st timer here!!

Can all of you keep posting on the short and easy 2 hour births that happened early rather than the 14 day overdue inductions. Then I can remain blissfully ignorant!xx

massivebigpantsface · 30/07/2007 21:32

1 day early, 22 hour labour.

a friend of mine has had three dc's who were 6hrs, 5hrs and 2hrs

notnowbernard · 30/07/2007 21:33

Seven days overdue.

20 hour labour (from first contractions to actual birth)

thebigSea · 30/07/2007 21:34

36 weeks, 2 and a bit hours start to finish.

massivebigpantsface · 30/07/2007 21:34

another friend of mine was about 4 hours, she had acupuncture that morning as she was 12 days over

toomanyshoes · 30/07/2007 21:35

DD born day after due date in 3 hours and 20 mins. Was a fab experience, not even half as bad as i had anticipated

rookiemum · 30/07/2007 21:38

10 days late, had two membrane sweeps, second one seemed to do the trick, 12 hours labour but ended up with emergency c section so don't know how long it would have been without that and wasn't dilating.

Oh if you do go past EDD then nothing works so don't waste time tweaking your nipples three hours a day, eating curries or pineapple, watching scary movies or having ahem "special" relations with your DP due to the mythical inducing qualities of his sacred sperm.

Good luck for the big day.

talkative · 30/07/2007 21:42

10 days late
had waters broken as ds had pooed and waters were leaking
episiotomy
forceps
9 hour labour,

happy healthy baby boy!

good luck and hope all goes well for you and baby

phdlife · 30/07/2007 21:49

week 38, consultant midwife says given my age I have 50% odds of needing help in stage 1 labour
week 39, Wednesday: MW says I'm too big and will need to see consultant on EDD
week 39, Thursday, had a show at 10am
sex around 11:30pm
waters broke at midnight
contractions started immediately and became regular straight away
8hrs labour
2hrs pushing
little imp still had his feet tucked up under my ribs
emergency section
but at least I didn't need help in stage 1!

CatIsSleepy · 30/07/2007 21:50

waters broke 8 days before due date-
caught me out because was staying at my sister's house, waters broke at 5.30 am Sunday (in her bed , panic-stricken drive across London ensued.
However needn't have rushed as dd took 2 and a half more days (and many many contractions) to appear...
labour very stop-start and needed induction in the end, dd finally born 10.30pm Tuesday

Wilkie · 30/07/2007 21:51

9 days early >

(Lots of orgasms, nipple stimulation and dairy milk....HTH)

mixedmama · 31/07/2007 16:22

Bang on time (only 3% of little ones arrive on time) so not expecting the same this time.

30 hours from first contraction to birth (went shoping, out for dinner) but about 12 hours from arriving at hospital with severe cant talk type contractions till birth.

jem1969 · 31/07/2007 18:48

4 weeks early
Didn't think was in labour, just bad stomach pain at 6am. 6cm dilated at 1pm, They broke my waters at 5.30pm, LO born at 6.30pm.

Sparkle123 · 14/10/2007 16:52

DD was born at 33+2 spontaneous labour (still have no idea why she was so prem) Think i possibly went into the labour the day before mum reckons it was wind (yeah right) Got woken up at 5am and thought something was up.. Got to the hospital at 8am to be told i was in labour and no one wanted me because i was 18 and she was so early! Hey Ho.. they were really good in the end.

DD born on her due date. 10 hours if you count from contractions. 14 if you count from when waters broke.
