Just curious really. Have 3 weeks to go til EDD but would be more than happy to go into labour today!
Most people said 1st time mums are usually late so just wanted to see if this was true!

PPS (37 weeks today!) XX

1 week o/d

lasted an hour

(2nd time, went into labour on due date...dd born 2 days later)

funnypeevesculiar · 19/07/2007 21:03

4 weeks early

Waters went at 3am
Contractions started c 5pm
Ds born 12.31 am

lauzie · 19/07/2007 21:23

On due date, 23 hours from 1st contraction

Chaotica · 19/07/2007 21:55

10 days late after having full-on painful contractions every 5 mins for 5 days (Probably because DD was in a funny position.)

Had a sweep after 3 days (at which point it finally counted as established labour), ARM after four when DP finally dragged me to hospital and then a drip 3 hours later when that didn't work either... 2nd stage only took 2 pushes though (although it was ventouse). MWs were great and only told me afterwards that they were amazed that I didn't end up with a CS.

Good luck -- I'm sure your labour will be much quicker than this!

Aitch · 19/07/2007 21:57

2 weeks early, 7 hours.

parceltongueisnotgibberish · 19/07/2007 21:59

Induced at +15 days. 48 hour labour. That child did NOT want to make an appearance.

Hopeitwontbebig · 19/07/2007 21:59

9 days late, 18 hours

KC1 · 19/07/2007 22:00

one week late. Waters broke 2 days before I actually delivered. Had to be induced. Took about 5 hours. Very intense. At one point they wanted to do a C section - said the baby was in distress but then it all started happening so I had a natural birth. Don't think I could have coped if I had a C section.

stressteddy · 19/07/2007 22:00

I have a theory about this - judge for yourself whether you think you ar an "on time" person or a "late" person.
If you are on time then your baby will be on time as well
and vice versa
I would consider myself to be an ontime/early person and my ds was one day early
(This is wildly generalised so feel free to dismiss at will)
It has worked with all of my friends though!

pipsqueeke · 19/07/2007 22:00

9 days early 2nd stage was 10 hours (less than 24 hours after wates broke)

muppetgirl · 19/07/2007 22:01

11 days late
induced...
epidural...
ventouse...
episiotomy...
tore anyway..

27 hours

parceltongueisnotgibberish · 19/07/2007 22:01

Stressteddy, I am a very 'on time' person. But my 4 dds' were all +14 days and induced with each one. lol

KC1 · 19/07/2007 22:02

that's funny and interesting at the same time stressteddy. I am usually late and there she was, a week later than she was due! LOL

parceltongueisnotgibberish · 19/07/2007 22:02

What is that apostrophe doing there

EffiePerine · 19/07/2007 22:03

4 days early
mild contractions for about 24 hrs (c ould still wlk, talk and get my hair cut)
proper labour about 3 hours in total (2nd stage just under an hour)

KC1 · 19/07/2007 22:05

muppetgirl, that sounds like a nighmare! I just had gas and air, a tens machine and the dimorphine. I begged them for more dimorphine but they refused. I laterfound out that it's heroin in its purest form. No wonder I was acting like a mad woman. Blame it on the drugs!

ChasingSquirrels · 19/07/2007 22:06

3 weeks early, 2 hr labour.

PinkPotterWeasleys · 19/07/2007 22:07

One day early. Slight twingy backache started at bedtime and dd arrived 7 hours later.

stressteddy · 19/07/2007 22:08

parcel, kc1 - one yes, one no!!
Try it out on your friends!!! See what they think
It's never failed me with my friends when they are due!!
Parcel, maybe your hormones through your timeliness off!

IdrisTheDragon · 19/07/2007 22:08

11 days early. Active labour lasted for 8 hours 5 min

PinkPotterWeasleys · 19/07/2007 22:10

Stressteddy - I agree! I always said it'll be on time "I don't do late"! and she was a day early!

parceltongueisnotgibberish · 19/07/2007 22:13

lol stressteddy. Or maybe I just had VERY lazy babies.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 19/07/2007 22:20

12 days late.
11.5 hours from first twinge to birth

hoolagirl · 19/07/2007 22:22

8 days late and had contractions from weds morning regularly till he arrived on the saturday night

stressteddy · 19/07/2007 22:23

Another yes from pinkpotter - come on, come on - let's see if this theory is a winner!
