Just curious really. Have 3 weeks to go til EDD but would be more than happy to go into labour today!
Most people said 1st time mums are usually late so just wanted to see if this was true!

PPS (37 weeks today!) XX

8 days late, 27 hour labour although twinges for days and days beforehand!

Pennypops · 29/06/2007 12:08

Hi all, for all of that had to deal with 20 plus hour labours - was that all active labour ? ie, presumably very painful or was it very mild for the first few hours?

Got a bit longer to go than PPS but am curious just the same!

Alibobster · 29/06/2007 14:56

ELR, my baby was back to back as well. Isn't it bloody painful. Oh and 15 days late

lucykate · 29/06/2007 15:00

5 days early, 12 hours from waters breaking to baby born, 7 hours of active labour, pushing for 1 hour

zubb · 29/06/2007 15:03

3 days early, under 2 hours of labour.

mslucy · 29/06/2007 15:04

witchandchips · 29/06/2007 15:10

waters broke at 8pm next day
active labour started about midnight
9lb baby born by emergency c-section 24 hours later

basilbrush · 29/06/2007 15:37

Waters broke Wednesday evening, 40+4, 1 hour after reflexology session
Laboured all Wed night, all Thurs day and night, placental abruption Fri morning 10am and DS delivered by emergency c-section

bagsundereyes · 29/06/2007 15:40

Don't assume you'll be overdue cos it's your first - I did, and found myself having to cancel lunch dates I'd booked throughout the fortnight after my due date when dd turned up bang on time.

12 hours from waters breaking, first 5 hours were ok, next 7 not so marvellous .

Lizzzombie · 29/06/2007 15:41

10 days late
proper contraction for 2 days
wouldnt let me in hospital till i was properly dilated, active labour for 2 hours. (thats a long time to push!) Hadnt slept for the 2 days of contractions, or eaten much at all, so kept falling asleep between pushes. Take lucozade tablets with you. I couldnt keep food down. Not even chocolate! And get a TENS machine. The best invention ever. Good luck x

ShowOfHands · 29/06/2007 15:41

1 week early, 24hrs of labour before they whisked me in for an emergency cs because dd was stuck.

Lizzzombie · 29/06/2007 15:42

one friend of mine had her waters break on the way to get her bikini line waxed in preparation!
Not happy! LOL!!

devonsmummy · 29/06/2007 15:47

2 days early - 2 hour labour, 15 minutes pushing and gas and air for those 15 mins.

Much easier than I anticipated so much so I never told midwife my contractions had started (only twinges) then when I did tell her i was 10cm and pushing! So if you feel those twinges don't keep it to yourself!!! (thankfully I was in hospital)

Make the most of your rest before the baby arrives!!

WeaselMum · 29/06/2007 15:51

2 days early, 5 hours of established labour, used gas and air and had a water birth, no intervention. Best of luck, hope it's a good experience for you too. x

duchesse · 29/06/2007 15:51

10 days late, 38 hours. He was posterior presentation (can be avoided by spending as much time as possible on all fours, or leaning forwards (over stack of cushions) rather than slouching back. Or so I found out for number 3)

daisyhun · 29/06/2007 17:27

2 weeks late - went into labour the day I was due to be induced... baby born 36 hours later (but pushing bit only took 20 mins so not as bad as it sounds!!)

lljkk · 29/06/2007 17:41

Bubba arrived 1 week early, spontaneous, classed as an 8 hour labour, after 30 hours or so of occasional warning contractions.

jetgirl · 29/06/2007 21:26

11 days late, 25 hour labour, baby back to back. She still likes to make an entrance today!

40+8 as I went to bed had first twinge. V. frequent but fairly mild contractions for 20 hours. Went to hospital as planned for induction and given the pessary thing. An hour or so and it had kicked off in earnest. Progressed ok over the next 5 hours, then they realised she was breach so section. 27 hour all in all.

Lyndag · 29/06/2007 21:41

I was due on 13/6, my waters broke a week and half in advanced, and i had her on 9/6, my labour was 18hrs (first stage) 2hrs (second stage) and I had ruptured membranes (placenta didn't detach properly) so that was another 1hr...

I only had her 3 weeks ago, and I have already forgotten/forgiven the birth (I had a a rough time)

ruddynorah · 29/06/2007 21:42
