Just curious really. Have 3 weeks to go til EDD but would be more than happy to go into labour today!
Most people said 1st time mums are usually late so just wanted to see if this was true!

PPS (37 weeks today!) XX

Several friends of mine were around a week early with first babies. In fact, I don't think any were late (unless you count 40+1 as 'late').

3xamum · 29/06/2007 22:49

I was a whole one day early with my first, which got me excited for my next 2 pregnancies thinking I would obviously be a good 2 weeks early. Er no a week late with both, that will teach me!

elibumbum · 29/06/2007 23:42

4 days early
14 hours first stage
2 hours pushing (reckon it would've been shorter if DS had tucked his chin in!).

could be any minute now - good luck!

bumperlicious · 30/06/2007 08:43

2 days late
4 hours 1st stage
2 hours pushing (probably so long due to lack of warm up!)

Good luck, try not to think about the fact that you are now "full term" - you'll drive yourself mad!

JodieG1 · 30/06/2007 08:45

My first was 4 weeks early (waters broke) and labour lasted about 2 and a half hours.

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 09:06

LyraB · 30/06/2007 09:10

DS2 2 days late, 24 hour labour ending in ventouse delivery.

tibsy · 30/06/2007 09:16

4 days late. 6hr labour.

HonoriaGlossop · 30/06/2007 22:09

i was 9 days late: had a sweep at 6 days overdue and went into labour that same night, but had a long long labour taking three days.

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 30/06/2007 22:12

10 days early, 28hour labour.

MamaMaiasaura · 30/06/2007 22:14

ds born at 38 weeks after 48 hour spontanious labour. Emergency C-Section. 8lb 12oz. Was clearly early as jaundice and covered in fur still

mamama · 30/06/2007 22:17

37 + 4

6 1/2 hrs from start to finish. Far too many stitches.

MegBusset · 30/06/2007 22:18

10 days late (felt like longest 10 days of my life and wished labour would hurry up), then 48hr back-to-back labour (felt nostalgic for being still pregnant and chilled on sofa). Enjoy your last few weeks, read books, watch films, sleep! (Especially sleep!)

archiesmummy · 30/06/2007 22:23

7 days late. Water broke at 5, got to hospital at 7 had DS at 10.

wishingfourgotone · 30/06/2007 22:28

Scoobi6 · 30/06/2007 23:02

8 days early.

Waters broke 5am with mild contractions, painful by lunchtime, laboured all night and had forceps delivery at 8am the following morning!

Good luck, put your feet up and enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts

mummytosteven · 30/06/2007 23:02

4 days early

sweetkitty · 30/06/2007 23:12

15 days early, 4h 20 minute labour

(thought no2 would be early for at least on time oh no 12 days late, anyone who is ever overdue has all my sympathy)

elkiedee · 30/06/2007 23:16

due 24 April, labour 26.5 hours in total hospital for induction at 7 pm on evening of 2 May (8 days) - contractions started about 2 am and waters were broken late the next morning, but further dilation took a long time. I was given a time limit for the second stage of labour - pushing - for an hour, though actually it was probably about an hour and a half, then baby was assisted out with a ventouse cup.

Good luck, the first weeks with new baby aren't easy but I preferred them to the last few weeks of pregnancy.

Aero · 30/06/2007 23:19

5 days late.

35 hours from first pain to birth.

KittenKat · 30/06/2007 23:22

due 10th July 06, DD born 1 July at 11:47pm, after 18 hours of labour. However, although technically went into labour at 5:30am, I did not actually have full contractions until around 1:30pm. It was bearable without any pain releif until about 7pm, when I went into hosp.

So, I count actual labour in terms of pain as 10.5 hours!

virgo · 30/06/2007 23:23

two weeks overdue and then induced - gave birth 'naturally' 2.5 days later wired up to oxytocin and an epidural....terrible
