Just curious really. Have 3 weeks to go til EDD but would be more than happy to go into labour today!
Most people said 1st time mums are usually late so just wanted to see if this was true!

PPS (37 weeks today!) XX

eek

bristols · 19/07/2007 22:24

DS was born the day before he was due. I woke up with contractions at 1.50am and had him at 11.32am. I was very lucky indeed. Good luck.

DontCallMeBaby · 19/07/2007 22:25

Six days after due date - first twinges watching CSI at 40+4, epidural the following midnight, born at 8.37am after that. My notes say duration of labour was 8.34, which means it started after I had the epidural, unlikely!

barbamama · 19/07/2007 22:25

5 hours, natural, 8 days overdue

parceltongueisnotgibberish · 19/07/2007 23:49

Yeah they are stressteddy - worth the wait

hotchocscot · 20/07/2007 00:08

2 days late, woke up with first contractions early AM one day over EDD, ds arrived noon the next day, 30 hours total, 2.5 hours pushing. Used tens machine at home (nice sense of being to control something when you are a first timer) then birthing pool for a few hours, then gas and air and finally at 26 hours in a wee shot of morphine. didn't actually stop the pain at the height of each contraction but seemed to let me relax more inbetween and get my focus back. Hope all goes well, relax and rest!

lazyemma · 20/07/2007 08:36

9 days overdue, induced, 4 hour labour

Botbot · 20/07/2007 08:58

I was 6 days early and was in labour for 20 hours from starting to time contractions (then had CS).

I liked being a week early because it meant there was no hanging around waiting for something to happen.

I'd thought I was going to be early because my monthly cycle is really short (about 23 days), and I was right!

pucca · 20/07/2007 09:01

6 days overdue.

Labour for 28 hrs, from waters breaking to dd being born.

pucca · 20/07/2007 09:04

Yet ds was born @ 38 weeks, but weighing 9lb 6oz so size was the issue me thinks, and i had extra waters.

sophybear · 20/07/2007 10:17

4 1/2 hours active labour. Waters broke, huge pain, bang straight in there. Was 6 dys over - had reflexology to help make her come.

sophybear · 20/07/2007 10:18

p.s. I know a LOT of 1st timers who have very very quick births. All say that we weren't told this could happen & it was a total shock.

typhoonsmum · 20/07/2007 11:42

I was in labour 10 hours with DD and was 9 days late.

TheBlonde · 20/07/2007 11:47

nomdeplume · 20/07/2007 11:48

Mild contractions started at 3pm on due date, went to cinema that night, went to hospital at 1pm the next day & dd1 was born 4 hours later. Wish everyone could have it as easy as I did!

vole3 · 20/07/2007 16:59

2 weeks early, 5 hours in total

suezee · 20/07/2007 17:07

i was induced, they started with the prostin gels on a thursday night, monday morning i was 1 cm dilated(begged them to to take me to cdu as they where trying to wait till i was 3cm)then it was about 14 and half of labour on a drip and a machine so i couldnt even move off the bed

clur79 · 22/07/2007 13:09

5 days over
Baby back to back so had around 24 hours of slow labour, but 12 hours of established labour.

All worth it though!!

zebedee1 · 22/07/2007 13:49

DS arrived 4 days late. Waters broke at 1am, contractions started immediately and DS arrived 11 1/2 hrs later.

TaLcYo · 22/07/2007 13:55

11 days overdue
baby occiput posterior
induced
24 hour labour
meconium in waters
episiotomy
forceps delivery

not quite to the birth plan!!!

spugs · 23/07/2007 18:39

started contractions 11 am on my due date, went into hospital at 2am the next morning when things were getting painful. Waters broke at 6 am, baby born at 11.13am after 1hr 20 min pushing. must add to this however that i spent the whole of my labour lying down which did not help at all. she only finally shifted when the mws decided to try a birthing stool and 5 min later out she came (2nd i stood up whole time and 2nd stage took 2 min)
