Hi everyone
Started having contractions at about 7pm, only coming every half hour or so so went to bed before 10.
Don't know how often they're coming (still not very often) but I can't sleep through them now. Plus they seem to go on for ages - I thought at this early stage they would be fairly quick.
I don't really know what I want to know except I thought I'd go to sleep and they'd be gone by the morning (was expecting to go 2 weeks overdue). Does this sound like it, or will it probably go on for the next 10 days?

you know, you ladies could go into labour (or not!) at a more considerate hour ! i've missed all the labour threads lately !!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 07:28

Sorry lulumama
So why might my contractions have slowed down then? Could it be that the baby is moving down? (About time!)

Good morning again! so what's happening? katy? maveta? are you there?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 07:44

Hi, I'm still here but contractions have slowed down a lot.
Did you get any sleep?

OP posts:
sauce · 26/04/2007 07:49

No, not yet. I'm on my 2nd cup of tea and had a wander round the garden in my dressing gown & bare feet - beautiful day, btw. Begining to feel a bit heavy-eyed after my rush of adrenalin from getting everyone washed, dressed, fed and out the door.

So I guess you're in labour but it might be a slow start, eh?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 07:50

Well that would do me - as long as it IS labour.

No "bloody show" or broken waters yet, I imagine?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 08:08

no

last contraction was half an hour ago
Right, am going to go and do something rather than waiting round for something to happen!

Morning all!

I´m really confused! Am absolutely knackered and went back to bed and properly fell asleep for about an hour or two, not woken by any contractions or anything. But now I am awake again and have been lying in bed but still getting regular contractions, moderately painful.. not Aaaaaaargh painful but not just ´ooh that´ll be a contraction then´.

Should I whack the TENS on and just lie in bed? Should I tell dh to go to work or stay with me?

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?? lol

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 08:13

How regular?

OP posts:
Katy44 · 26/04/2007 08:14

Mine are every 20 minutes, and pain wise nothing to moan about

OP posts:
Katy44 · 26/04/2007 08:15

Not sure if I mentioned, but my MW's advice when I told her they were every 8-15 minutes was to send DH to work (even though I told her it was 40 mins away)

OP posts:
maveta · 26/04/2007 08:16

I don´t know, I´ve not bothered to start timing them again but I´d say still about the same.. every 5 mins or so.. but still achey periody around my back, stomach and down my thighs.. definitely not increased in intensity or anything.

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 08:17

Can you sit still while you're having them?
(Please bear in mind I know nothing!!)

OP posts:
maveta · 26/04/2007 08:17

Yeah, Dh doesn´t look even remotely concerned and is getting ready to leave now.. probably best though, think I´m going to take the laptop and the TENS back to bed with me...

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 08:19

If he stays home you'll lose the contractions

Think I'm going to do some cleaning or something, maybe have a snooze now they're this far apart, back soon xx

OP posts:
maveta · 26/04/2007 08:22

Okay, keep me posted...

sauce · 26/04/2007 08:24

It sounds to me like you're in the lead, maveta but who knows for sure? It does seem to go on forever at the end, doesn't it? Anyway, be of good cheer because both of you will be new mummies VERY SOON!

heidle · 26/04/2007 08:30

how exciting you two!!!!!!!!
will be watching this space.........

Bethbe · 26/04/2007 09:56

Come on.......I don't care if you're at the pushing stage, come and give us an update!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 10:35

Nothing much to report here, have just been woken up by the phone. Think they've stopped

OP posts:
Bethbe · 26/04/2007 10:51

PITA it may well be (A = abdomen), but it doesn't mean nothing is happening. Hopefully it'll mean a less agressive 'active' labour. Good luck!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 10:55

What do you mean? Is this normal then?

OP posts:
maveta · 26/04/2007 11:20

Bah. nothing happening here. Much like Katy it all seems to have stopped. [SOB] [Pout]
