Hi everyone
Started having contractions at about 7pm, only coming every half hour or so so went to bed before 10.
Don't know how often they're coming (still not very often) but I can't sleep through them now. Plus they seem to go on for ages - I thought at this early stage they would be fairly quick.
I don't really know what I want to know except I thought I'd go to sleep and they'd be gone by the morning (was expecting to go 2 weeks overdue). Does this sound like it, or will it probably go on for the next 10 days?

Katy, is a tens machine worth getting? did it help at all?

Katy44 · 30/04/2007 14:31

Hi bananabump
I definitely found it was even though I got sick of wearing it half way through - I quickly put it back on again. I was planning to post my birth announcement/story soon(!) where I'll share all the gory details but it got me to 9cm dilated before we got to the hospital and only the last couple of contractions were unbearable with it on full blast! When exactly are you due?

Oh and I should have said, I think weeonion would recommend them too!

Ooh a while yet, august 4th. Just wondering if it'd be worth borrowing/renting one in time. (Assuming it'd work through my layer of maternal lard)

I suppose it couldn't hurt to have one there as an option! Didn't weeonion do well! I couldn't believe her birth story. She "ignored" her labour pains...doubt I'll be that brave!

Katy44 · 03/05/2007 14:41

Well it worked fine through my maternal lard!
Be careful when you're asking someone to take it off- I told DH it was off as it was having no effect any more - it was actually on as high as it can go, he got such a shock!
Yes, weeonion's story as fantastic, I tried to ignore mine but they shouted louder
Good luck with your birth...not long now really!
