YY it's my third thread in as many days and I'm not even bloody overdue (39 weeks today!) but fucking hell I am so uncomfy (SPD plus arthritis is not a good combination with two mental lively DC now off school for a fortnight plus raging heartburn, exhaustion and repeatedly being kicked in the cervix).

Anyone want to hold hands while waiting for bloody contractions to start?

In labour here! Just in time before the induction etc.

chiliplant · 16/04/2015 16:50

Squee! Good luck!x

RL20 · 16/04/2015 21:43

Good luck Catellington!

Chiliplant I'm the same - when I've had internal scans etc I always have to hold my hands over my pubic bone so I feel like I've got some sort of control

chiliplant · 16/04/2015 23:19

Rl20 you wrtre describing twinges and pains when u are sat up on the sofa exactly like I have. I wonder if our babies are in the same position! Mine is like it's pushing against my lower spine and bowel! Its crazy!x

TeachersPest · 17/04/2015 21:07

How's everyone doing? Any more births yet?

Went to MW yesterday who couldn't do sweep due to cervix being unfavourable, externally it was slightly open, but internally it was too closed for her to do anything with. It wasn't the most comfortable, as she gave it a good "rummage" but it didn't hurt, and she had me put my fists under my pelvis to tilt it slightly.

We have agreed to go by my dates and not scan dates to give me a few extra days before they try to jump start things. Moving me from the 6th back to the original 9th. IOL is booked for 22.04 (next Wednesday) if nothing happens before then.

Same old BH here, and have lost a bit of jelly plug tonight, but other than that nothing changes. MW thinks baby is about 9 lbs, and is surprised that his had isn't any lower after I've been having all these BH, but said that can always happen during labour so not a cause for concern. Getting to the point now where I just want him here now. After all these months of wanting him to stay put and for my cervix to stay tightly closed etc, after previous mc, I think he is like "nope you wanted me here, I'm staying here" Wink

Anyways sorry for the rambling on.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok, and not too uncomfortable.

chiliplant · 18/04/2015 11:53

Oh I've had enough as well. It just ranks up the pressure.
Had stretch yesterday. She said it was favourable and could feel head but when she tried t move even further in I couldn't take it and she stopped. Felt bad but It was too much! Said she could get finger in but had t stop before she could send if it would go all the way through cervix.
I'm sick of waiting, I'm sick of texts n Facebook messages, I'm sick if husband saying do u think it will b today? Gahhh! X

RL20 · 18/04/2015 12:26

Hi everyone

Aww teacherspest I feel the same! Previous mc's so have wanted him to stay out as much as possible, of course.
Now at 39+5 I'm ready for him! Smile. I feel like he's going to keep me waiting though!

Chiliplant hope you're ok! I didn't believe people when they said that these last days feel like weeks. My pregnancy has gone so fast so far, and now it's like a waiting game!

I thought something was happening this morning when laying in bed, had the lower back ache which I have only had before whilst sitting on the settee. And then a bit of a period ache, and felt like I was almost going numb around that area and the tops of my legs?! So I took the opportunity to practice the breathing techniques, but nope nothing since!
Still no plug and no BH's here for the time being.
Have a midwife appointment on Wednesday when I'll be 40+2 providing I do go over, and she's said I could have the sweep then if I wanted. I know the rate for them actually working isn't high but I suppose I may aswell!

RL20 · 18/04/2015 12:27

Oh and chiliplant I have a feeling that I may have the same issue when I go for the sweep. I don't feel like anything down there is ready or 'open' yet! Blush

RL20 · 18/04/2015 12:28

On original post I meant * stay in! Not stay out

TeachersPest · 19/04/2015 17:15

Yes I am still pregnant

No I haven't had him yet

Yes he is still cooking and will probably be quite big when he is born, but I don't need your comments about whether bigger babies are easier/harder to birth, are harder/easier to BF etc.

Yes I have got much bigger, I'm growing a human being, that is also still growing (it's a good sign)

And I don't really care whether you are glad that they are going to probably have to induce me in hospital as you were always against the idea of homebirth anyway, on account of the fact that you were not at conception MIL & FIL so it was never your choice!
Hmm

Sorry everyone just had to get those off my chest.

I hope that everyone else is getting along nicely, and not too uncomfortable.

Physically I am feeling fine, though mentally getting frustrated with my body being public property and everyone feeling the need to not only keep commenting stupid thins, but also touching and patting me, and giving me sympathetic noises....

According to my Nan, who I saw yesterday, he is still too high and that's why I haven't got into established labour with all the BH. So she has suggested that I need to scrub some floors on my hands and knees to try and get him further down (but I don't know if I can be arsed with that).

41+3 Cake

RL20 · 19/04/2015 17:23

Forgot to update on here. Hope everyone is doing ok.
39+6 today, waters went last night, no pain, went to hospital and they confirmed it was waters but didn't check if I was dilating or not because I hadn't been having any contractions. Told me to call on Monday morning to get booked in for induction, however have been having contractions since. Not much sleep last night so made up for it earlier when contractions seemed to slow down a bit.
Still having them, but have been told to call back when they are more regular i.e. 2 or 3 times in 10 minutes.
Going to brush my teeth and hair and put some jogging bottoms on just incase we do end up going in tonight.
For those still waiting for signs, I'd only had mild back ache yesterday and the day before and had had no BH's or anything else, so there is hope!

RL20 · 19/04/2015 17:25

Oh and TeachersPest, if all is ok I don't think you have to agree to an induction! They will just monitor you daily/regularly so that you could still possibly have your home birth. But I'm sure everywhere is different but do double check that x

JontyDoggle37 · 20/04/2015 04:44

38+4 here, spent twelve hours last tues night in early labour, then it all stopped. Woke up an hour ago with backache/period pains so laying here willing it to get going properly this time!

ladyrosy · 21/04/2015 10:29

40+10 here. Just got a text from my mum saying she thinks her prediction that I will give birth tomorrow is right. Feel quite stressed.

ladyrosy · 21/04/2015 10:30

I guess I am 41+3. I've been thinking about things in terms of days past EDD.

cowbiscuits · 22/04/2015 14:25

Hi Ladyrosy- hope your mum is right!

Any news from anyone?

Anyone new want to come and join me in waiting for our babies? I've been on the April antenatal thread but there's only about three of us left now, and it's more of a post-natal thread.

Planned on having a lazy rest day today. Why is it that when you're busy all you want to do is have a quiet rest day, and when you can have one, you feel bored?

39+5 here waiting for DC#2.

FizzyBubbly · 22/04/2015 14:55

Hey Cowbiscuits! Not sure how I've missed this thread but as one of the very few remaining April-ers I think I should qualify for this one too! Know what you mean about being a PN thread! Only 39+6 but starting to feel overdue with everyone overtaking me! When was your DC1 born? Went into labour at 40+4 with DD and she was born the next day, but have got everything crossed this one comes a bit earlier.

Hi to everyone else waiting (im)patiently!

cowbiscuits · 22/04/2015 15:02

Hi fizzy, my DS was born at 40+8. So I'm not really thinking anything will happen soon. But that doesn't stop me getting my hopes up at any little twinges.

minimooo · 25/04/2015 07:45

Hello, can I join you for a bit? I'm 40+1 today. Been feeling really positive and happy until yesterday when midwife confirmed that baby is still not engaged! Now I'm beginning to doubt she will come out on her own, but ideally want to avoid any medical inductions. Am having some on-off braxton hicks though, and some period pains, so we'll see what the next few days bring. Hope you've all managed a good night's sleep Smile

cowbiscuits · 25/04/2015 19:02

Hi minimoo! I'm 40+1 today too so we've got the same due date. Is it your first?

I wouldn't worry to much about baby not being engaged I think they will find there way.

I'm having lots of BH sometimes quite regularly, but never goes anywhere. Whenever I have backache or lower tummy ache it just turns out to be needing a poo!

We'll get there in the end!

rightguard · 25/04/2015 22:33

just thought I'd update... waters went at 5 am on Monday 20th, contractions started straight away, 2-3 minutes apart and bloody painful. Mad dash to hospital at 100mph, admitted at 6 am, examined straight away and was fully dilated. ds1 was born at 6.22am.

He's perfect and lovely and all newborn squishy, but we were both quite ill, I ended up in surgery to remove placenta and had several blood transfusions, he picked up an infection so has been in nicu for antibiotics. but we finally got discharged today and are back home Grin Grin

ladyrosy · 25/04/2015 23:47

Congratulations rightguard! Fab and dramatic news!

Once it hits midnight, I am 42+1! This will be my second night in hospital. So far in the way of induction, I have been given 1x propess and 2x prostin. Waters broke 24 hours ago and I am contracting, just not hard enough or regular enough!

Baby is happy and completely unfussed by it all. I am fairly comfy. Food is pretty decent, and the staff are lovely.

cowbiscuits · 26/04/2015 07:29

Rightguard! Sounds scary, glad you are home, hope you are all recovering. Congratulations!

Ladyrosy, glad to hear you're comfy and everyone treating you well. Hope baby comes soon!

40+2 here. Nothing much happening. Want to meet my baby now!

minimooo · 26/04/2015 08:06

Thanks for the welcome cowbiscuits, brilliant that we have the same edd! I get the poo thing too Grin

I spent yesterday bouncing on my ball and might persuade dh to go on a walk later to see if we can't get things moving.

Wow rightguard, sounds dramatic but glad you and ds are both ok and at home now.

Hope it all gets going soon ladyrosy!

jbee1979 · 26/04/2015 09:00

Can I join please? 39+1, booked for sweep on Friday at 39+6.

DH has been so excited every time I've had a twinge - but now says baby can't come today as we're going to see new Avengers movie later.

Agreed - cramps turn out to be poos, I have a little bit of EWCM, no BH as far as I know (first baby) headache, swollen gums and cold symptoms.

Dr Google says the baby won't come when you're feeling under the weather AND that feeling under the weather is a sign of impending labour - so I don't know!!

Can I ask, for those of you who've had a successful sweep - would I be okay to drive home after? DH can't come to appt on Friday with me, DM has fallen out with me, and it's too early for SIL who has to take my DN to school first.

Congratulations to those who've had babies and good luck to those still waiting!!
