I've just been woken up by crampy pains. They're coming every 15 minutes or so, I'm getting niggles.in between too. Are there any 'tests' i can do to see if this is it? I've been up to the loo, no show, no waters etc. drank water and had a little walk around the upstairs. anything else I can try? just to make sure it's not my silly cervix just doing its thing etc. also if it helps I was a miserable irritated bitch all day and kept crying too. Thanks all :)

Morning ravioli I'd try having a nice relaxing bath. It will help if it's nothing or speed it up if it's labour good luck and keep us informed Grin

BikeRunSki · 04/02/2015 05:42

The bitchiness is the clue. I was a right moody cow the day before the night I went into labour with dS.Smile

RavioliOnToast · 04/02/2015 05:53

I'm still hibernating in bed at the moment, the heating is on a timer for 6am so will actively become vertical at that point Grin hubby has to take my young sister to school this morning but he'll be gone an hour and a half tops. I'll have a bath then. They're still around every 13-14 minutes, lasting around 15-20 seconds but very intense pains. If this is it, what a strange baby, actually coming on her due date! Haha thanks ladies, will keep you posted! Smile

I'd just take some paracetamol and stay in bed personally -it might be a long day Grin

RavioliOnToast · 04/02/2015 06:07

I just got up for a cuppa, will try and keep my routine the same for now until it all becomes too much then I will crawl back under the duvet Grin

Really hope it is Ravioli!
I had BHs all night but nothing to show for it this morning Angry

VioletVelvet · 04/02/2015 09:41

Exciting! Good luck!

JugglingLife · 04/02/2015 10:52

OP has gone very quiet........

Soon bagofsnakes, soon.

RavioliOnToast · 04/02/2015 13:15

still hanging in there unfortunately, just finishing my lunch then going to have another bath and get ready, see if making plans to go somewhere will speed the arrival up!

Ooh good luck fingers crossed this is it for you. Even if it's not it's a sure sign that it won't be too much longer. My dc4 was born on his due date and hour into the midwife strike! Very unsupportive Grin

bagofsnakes · 04/02/2015 18:55

Ok, due is tomorrow and baby has definitely dropped even lower - if possible! How is everyone else? Ravioli?

RavioliOnToast · 04/02/2015 19:47

not a thing. regular pains have stopped and have been replaced by a dull achey feeling in my back and lower tummy. stomach keeps going rock hard too. hubby said it looks like I've dropped even lower today too. Hope something happens soon, I'm dreading being home alone with DD tomorrow she takes some entertaining Sad

lljkk · 04/02/2015 19:53

Try to get plenty of sleep. Not long to go now.

JugglingLife · 04/02/2015 20:45

Ravioli that all sounds very much like early labour to me, hopefully you'll have some good news very, very soon.

MrsHooolie · 04/02/2015 22:37

Hope you get some decent sleep tonight OP.
Best of luck.

JugglingLife · 05/02/2015 06:50

How are you doing this morning ravioli, any movement for you bagofsnakes?

bagofsnakes · 05/02/2015 08:26

Nothing from me. DS was supposed to be in childcare today but his child minder is ill so he's home with me and, don't know if this is true or not, but apparently women tend not to go into labour when their older children are around so I'm not expecting anything today - maybe tonight? Anyone know if there is any truth in that? The whole not going into labour when other kiddies are around.

VioletVelvet · 05/02/2015 08:38

Maybe not for everyone, bagofsnakes, but it was true for me. I was in very slow stop/start labour, but then once my DH was home and my elder DC safely tucked up in bed it properly kicked off.

CheshireSplat · 05/02/2015 08:41

It wasn't true for me Bag. DD1 was shouting indignantly, "you're not playing your instrument, Mummy" as I was sitting down doubled over in pain with a contraction!

WandaDoff · 05/02/2015 09:00

I had something the midwife called latent labour with 2 of mine.

I had niggles and semi-regular pains on & off for the last week or so of the pregnancies & my cervix could be stretched to 2cm dilated for the last couple of days apparently.

When the labours started properly though, it was all over very quickly.

JugglingLife · 05/02/2015 09:09

With DC3 I had a home birth. DM and Dsis were camped out waiting for 4 days, it wasn't until they got fed up and went home that he decided to come, waters went within 3 hours of them leaving (just enough time for them to drive home and not make it back!). Sod's law or my subconscious really not wanting them there? Not sure.

bagofsnakes · 05/02/2015 09:36

Juggling, I'm going to go with your subconscious not really wanting them there Smile I've told my family that they are not to come down (they live about 3-4 hours away) until I've had the baby. I'm fine with them being here straight after but I think that if they were here waiting with me it'd just make me more impatient/edgy.
Good to know that my body might just do as it likes whether DS is here or not. Just going to go about my day as normal, trying to ignore the fact that it's my due date, and see what happens. DS is being super sweet and compliant, which is a good thing!
