... how do you know??? Did you ask?

I never asked and nobody said so I'm sticking my fingers in my ears, singing lalalalala and assuming that I didn't.

Ok... a few weeks I'll accept... a few years would have made me lots

no with dd1 (section) and no idea with dd2, but the room looked like there may have possibly been a murder so it may have been mixed in with the general gunk of birth

she felt like she was coming out of my @rse anyway

bloody design fault, I tell you, we should all have a big zip down our sides

ROFL at daisymoo's asparagus and [awe] at mears' self-induced enema

spent 2 bloomin hours in early labour either contracting or pooing, never a break. So no 'outcome' when things got serious.

foxinsocks · 21/09/2006 13:38

lol at this

I pooed and puked throughout both labours from start to finish. Luckily for me (and all those round me collecting poo, puke and wiping my nose), both labours were v quick (though quite ferocious).

At one stage, I had so many receptacles around me, I wasn't sure which ones I'd puked in and which ones I'd pooed in!

I have no idea with DS. I know I didn't with DD but that was because it was only about 3 pushes and I was stood up looking down and saw everything that came out.

Actually probably did with DS - two hours of pushing with every fibre - huge piles - stands to reason. Only way I couldn't have is if I had totally emptied my bowels beforehand. And I did spend a lot of time on the loo because of naively thinking I needed to go, not realising it was DS's huge head.

I think a lot of people kid themselves on this one personally.

I have been told I did 1 year after the birth !!! We were having a couple of friends at home and we were discussing birth...We reached the delicate subject of the Did you or didn't you do a poo...and me all proud I said I didnt...and my husband started laughing...and he told that I actually something came out before the baby was born........I think he could have kept it to himself..;-)

hi there i love this thread SoupDragon. I was crying with laughter at it. Have one DD and remember being in the bath and told DP to buzz for the nurse - she came and I said I need to poo and she was like that's just pressure and went away again. Told DP to buzz for the nurse again - she came back and said ever so sweetly (she was lovely) that she thought she had turned the buzzer off - I was like yeah you did but I turned it back on - I need to POO and she got me up out of the bath and I thought we were headed for the toilet but no we were heading for the bed with me all the while going no I need to poo (embarassing as DP was right there walking behind us). Anyway started pushing not long after and DD was born. Dont think I did poo cause it took me about 3 days to do one after, and I've asked DP and he says I didn't. But like the other ladies said "who cares you are getting a baby out of your body", so if I did I don't care! Sorry for rambling...

I knew I was going to poo. I told the midwife. She said 'oh you won't its just the pressure of the baby's head on your bowels making you feel that way..' - but I did poo, just the same.
