What time did you go in to be induced?

Hospital want me to go in at 5pm on Friday.

I don't want to. I want to go in on Saturday morning.

Is there any reason they want me there overnight? Will ring hospital in the morning to clarify (couldn't face asking more questions of dopey consultant today!), but just wondered.

From your experience, are they likely to start trying to induce me on Friday evening? Or first thing on Saturday?

(Oh, and some "go into labour naturally" vibes most welcome - thank you!)

ok I'm bringing my time forward to 1.18 - reckon it's gonna be a pretty quick one

hunkermunker · 18/01/2006 09:52

That's what I need to hear, WWW!

Will see if DH can post later - but I wanna be the one to tell everyone!

go hunker!! make sure you move about as much as possible. being upright and walkign helped me with dd2+3. just find something to grip onto during a contraction, i found the end of the bed helped.

hunkermunker · 18/01/2006 09:54

Yep, am pacing in manner of caged polar bear (between posts!) and gripping doorframes.

(Thanks for text, btw - will do )

well - fancy a homebirth ........ if you have it today (which I'm positive you will) SOMEONE has to post before 9.30 tonight as I'm working.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 18/01/2006 09:55

You can't have a baby today......

You would have to call it Beety

hunkermunker · 18/01/2006 09:55

I know, LGJ!

Two things young lady, you were still here late last night,.

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 18/01/2006 09:58

hehe - just looking to see who was born on this day in history - and on my travels found this

"1964, The Beatles made their US chart debut when 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' entered the chart at No.45. It went on to spend seven weeks at the No.1 position."

pupuce · 18/01/2006 09:59

How accessible ? 1 or 2 fingers in?

Lonelymum · 18/01/2006 10:00

Hey fantastic news HM! Sounds like it is realy happening for you today. Thank God you can forget about being induced and looks like you have your wish in that you are labouring during the day rather than the night. Clever baby, knwoing when to come!

It is so exciting when someone goes into labour online.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 18/01/2006 10:03

Ah yes, but has anyone noticed ??

LadySherlockofLGJ · 18/01/2006 10:03

Longer between posts

pupuce · 18/01/2006 10:04

Maybe she's taking a break from us LOL

Lonelymum · 18/01/2006 10:05

Wow this must be one big contraction! Or a phone call to the Maternity ward maybe?

hunkermunker · 18/01/2006 10:06

LGJ, in my (rather weak!) defence, DS wasn't well - had a nightmare. And still not well, poor boy - looks pale and had temp of 40.3 this morning

Pupuce, just further forward - didn't go too "in depth", shall we say?!

Think I'll go in to be assessed in a bit - don't want to leave it too long and have the baby in the car!

Black Eyes ?????

pupuce · 18/01/2006 10:07

... and miss the pool!!!
Women usually have a good idea when to go.... trust your instinct

Miaou · 18/01/2006 10:08

oooh ooh oooh oooh

just seen this

hoooooow exciting! Hope this is the real thing hunker (sure sounds like it!!!)

btw I was laughing and chatting between contractions, right up until delivery (without pain relief either), some of us are like that!

Now if you are going off to hospital you have to put a quick post on here to say you are going....

hunkermunker · 18/01/2006 10:08

PMSL LGJ! Shall we just say nature's prostaglandin has worked again?

rofl

nothing's secret on here, is it?

hunkermunker · 18/01/2006 10:10

Miaou, glad to hear I'm not the only person who can maintain a conversation throughout labour

I just get all "oh, don't make a fuss, there's a dear girl" about it all!
