I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Or make an appointment to be induced-it worked for me.

I went into labour about 2 o'clock on the morning I was due to be induced.

Pissed my Mum right off, very inconvenient for her. Hmm

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 22:12

contractions, seeker my lovely, is not what's happening with that image.
i just nearly vomitted my guts up.

sorry schroeder -they make you make an induction appointment "because if you don't, they might get full up and then you won't be able to get one"
Hmm
i had to make mine last thursday.
Isbn just doesn't care.

Never be able to look at Noel Edmonds again. My fond memory of Swap Shop in tatters.

nickel think nice thoughts about other quiz show hosts maybe.

nicki1978 · 05/12/2011 22:16

Hi nickelbabe,

I've been lurking since page 14 (read all previous pages to catch up) and just wanted to mark my place and wish you all the best and sending encouraging contracting vibes Smile

I had a sweep on my due day and there was still no sign 2 days later; I remember sitting on our sofa (which unfortunately was not leather) lent over to reach something off the floor and my waters went spectacularly everywhere Grin Shock Blush; probably as a result of squashing my very large bump Grin.

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 05/12/2011 22:17

Think of Dale, that should get Isbn to dislodge!
Or I could just send my children round, that will get things started!

schroeder · 05/12/2011 22:17

Hmm back to the drawingboard.

It's horrible isn't it?

ds was 10 days late, so I know how you are feeling.

it might help if you try and make plans for tomorrow that do not involve childbirth and try and take your mind off it a bit.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 22:19

wow!
i'm going to do lots of leaning over now.
(actually, that probably won't work, because i keep leanign over and nothing's happened.)

it's just destined not to happen ,isn't it?
who'd've thought i could get this far towards having a baby and the n not actually be able to have a baby ?
Confused

thanks for all your wishes, i'm going off to bed now, in the hope that "acting normally" will make something happen.
(stupid sod and his law)

do carry on posting, but if someone sees it gettign close to 1000, can you ask MNHQ to extend?

Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 22:21

Night night. x Perhaps tonight will be the night. (I said that last night). Smile

stripeywoollenhat · 05/12/2011 22:22

(nickel, you could borrow a sick child? juggling out of hours doctors and childbirth worked for me....)

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 05/12/2011 22:27

Ooh Congrats Stripey - although I would run far from Nickel with that news Grin (fanjo permitting of course!)

Get0rf · 05/12/2011 22:28

Awww nickel.

I remember when you announced your pregnancy.

It will happen, just hang in there.

I was on a thread a couple of months ago where someone said that pineapple was good as it had some enzyme in it which softened the cervix. I was unsure if you were supposed to eat it, or use pineapple fingers as a pessary, and I never got to the truth. Why don't you try that and report back? Grin

oreocrumbs · 05/12/2011 22:28

Hi Nicklebabe
I've managed a whole 36 pages of lurking before saying hello!!

My labour tip is a hot bath and putting hot flannels on your boobs and having a twiddle Xmas Blush

Apparently it stimulates your milk, which can make your uterus contract or something of the like!

I didn't use it myself I went into labour when I expected to (sorry), but my best friend did this with her 3 and it worked apparently.

Good Luck Xmas Grin

lia66 · 05/12/2011 22:28

Xmas Grin
CuriosityCola · 05/12/2011 22:28

oreocrumbs · 05/12/2011 22:32

Stripey Congratulations, how lovely, is that 2 babies on the thread now?

GetOrf Your meant to put the pineapple ON your cervix Xmas Blush, according to the same friend who told me about the flannels!

I wonder how many midwives have delivered chunks of Del Monte alongside a baby?

Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 22:33

2 babies! Congrats stripey

Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 22:34

I thought you ate the pineapple. I never thought to 'insert' any. Wouldn't that be stingy? Ow.

NorksAreMessy · 05/12/2011 22:35

Night night nickel.
congrats stripey and the baby stripe

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 05/12/2011 22:39

Pineapple on your cervix??? Doesn't sound like an entirely wise move - I think I'd stick to eating it!!

Nickel - how are sales this year?? making no comment what-so-ever about due dates

Stripey congratulations!!!! Very exciting. How is your older DC? Are you sharing your new DD's name with us or not??

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 05/12/2011 22:40

Congratulations stripey!

I heard that about pineapple too, but it has to be fresh pineapple not tinned and lots of it, so probably more likely to give you the runs!

Now then babynickel as your mum has gone to bed listen up:

We all know that it is lovely and warm and snuggly in there, but your mummy is getting rather fed up of waiting to meet you so please bear that in mind and try to get things moving asap.

youtalkintome · 05/12/2011 22:40

Yay stripey and well done and a of course . Any gorey details? How did it go?

youtalkintome · 05/12/2011 22:41

sorry Xmas Envy
