I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Oh you poor thing Nickel, 9 days?!?
I know how awful/ranty/unreasonable I felt with just 3 to deal with.

You know it will happen & I know that helps not a bit right now.

But, onto other issues, sex? Wink

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 05/12/2011 20:57

Yup have seen the baby bump too (although she could be doing a Beyonce Hmm)
Come on baby nickel - and why is your mummy ignoring me? I know I haven't been in for a while...........

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 20:58

sorry talkin :(

you can see, JKS - how i must be 3 tiems as ratty as you felt Grin
We tried sex last thursday. it wasn't fun.
Not in much hurry to try it again.

I thought things might happen tongiht- i've been steadfastly ignoring the bump and any moves it makes. "lalalalalal I can't feeeeel yoooooou!"

thanks for the vouching!
I've already stated that you all think i'm a trolly loon. Wink

i'm actually beginning to feel like it myself.
when I was on the JSing (ttc) thread, i was very normal and philsophical about the whole thing - didn't get stressed or owrried or obsessed much with getting pregnant, and all the way through, i've been very patient and stoic.
now appears to be my time to get impatient and obsessed....
[oh dear]

ta.
I think my fanjo feels different.
It was annoying walking round the shop, cos it felt all baggy and annoying.
my tights felt like they were cutting me in two, but every time i tried to adjust them (really lovely in the middle of the supermarket - i promise i didn't touch any fresh veg!), they were nowhere near the crotch.
Confused

Forget opening like a flower. Like 'lift doors' perhaps? Grin

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 05/12/2011 21:16

Nickel - so hope you got your dates right or it could be another 2 weeks and the thread will be full and it will be nearly christmas and they will have to borrow nickel baby for the nativity in church

MrsChristmasDB · 05/12/2011 21:23

Sparks

A la WHOOOOOMP do you mean ? Xmas Grin

nickel,

Have some more chocs (matchmakers tonight, mint and orange flavours)

PacificDogwood · 05/12/2011 21:24

Here are my top 5 'making labour get a move on' tips:

  • wear your best, most expensive, ideally white underwear. It should be handwash only.
  • have electric blanket on bed, white sheets on said bed (handwash only if you've got something like that for your bed Hmm)
  • buy very, very expensive non-refundable tickets for some event or other for tomorrow night
  • make sure your DH or whoever was going to take you to hospital/be your birthpartner is inebriated every night, without fail
  • unpack your hospital bag.

There, my work here is Done.

neglects to tell nickelbabe that ds1 was 15 days overdue

Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 21:27

If there's a WHOOOMP a pair of those droopy crotch trousers could be a good idea. (I nearly had DS2 in my trousers Blush)

Sibling4 · 05/12/2011 21:32

Go to your local playground. Elbow the toddlers out of the way and get on a swing. Swing high and fast

I did this when DD was being stubborn and refusing to even try to come out. she was born 6 hours later

Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 21:34

I heard that going on the swings can do the trick sibling.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 21:34

If i hadn't been on the ttc thread, then i could imagine that i wouldn't have a clue when the baby was conceived.
as it is, i think it's plausible that the baby was conceived between 10 and 14 days after my period (going by JSing dates) - that means it could be between 10 and 14 days after the EDD.
that's what i'll be tellign the midwife if they threaten to induce me.
as it is, i'm hoping it will come before the 1000 posts are up (do you think MNHQ would let me stretch the thread if it doesn't?)

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 21:35

i don't like the swings. :(

And i've already done climbing over things, throwing myself off stacks of chairs (well, not throwing, just jumping really), and doing al lsorts of thigns that might inconvenience me - i mean, i've got to open the shop every day, haven't i? but nothing's forcign sod's law into play.

OP posts:
Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 21:37

Roundabout or seesaw?

NorksAreMessy · 05/12/2011 21:56

See, you need to sort of sneeeeeek up on sod's law. It won't work if you plan it, just if it is genuinely inconvenient.
I had a romantic birthday dinner with DH when I was 40+8 and have never been served so fast in a restaurant in my life. They really really really didn't want a baby left as a tip.

Sending cervix-opening thoughts of flowers blooming, space doors opening, camera lenses expanding in low light, bubbles being blown, ummm. I might be thinking a bit TOO much about nickle's underbeneathsies.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 21:59

i think i'm thinking too much about my underbeneathsies! Grin

i'm drinking a glas of wine.

see ,the having DH inebriated every night wouln't do much good, cos i'm having a homebirth, so he wouldn't need to drive (and if we needed to go to the hospital, we would be blue-lighted)

Another lurker here delurking to pass on my only tip to get labour started.

Nipple twiddling - one at a time, for 15 minute sessions - throughout an episode of Deal or No Deal.

Got me started at 40 + 9.

I think it was a bit of Noel which did the trick.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 05/12/2011 22:05

Come on, baby Nickel!

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 22:06

(that's very nearly a thread killer, Bee Grin )

OP posts:
Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 22:11

I will never be able to watch Deal or No Deal again.

seeker · 05/12/2011 22:11

Just close your eyes and visualise Noel Edmonds' underbeneathsies. If that doesn't get contractions going, I don't know what will!
