I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

I don't think I would have noticed if my midwife was pissed Carol I wouldn't worry.

Maybe being pissed during labour would be a bit like gas and air Hmm

Are you having a home birth then nickelbabe? hope things start happening for you soon xx

Ina-May used to recommend alcohol to stop premature labour so maybe getting pissed would be counter-productive.

Okay.
I've been home for about 4 hours.
I've had a nap, read a bit of my book
been to sainsbury's
and eaten half a pizza.

they still haven't got vegetarian haggis at my local branch, so I'm rather annoyed at that.

I have possibly had some twinges.
Before we went to sainsbury's, I had very tight bump, with a kind of grating/stabbing feeling across the bottom of it.
That lasted a minute or so, then it came back after a couple of minutes, but that was it.

It kind of felt a bit like when you've got a dodgy tummy and you really need a poo, but you know that you can't have one.
like that.
and i know it wasn't that, because I'd just had a poo. (and it didn't feel like that before i had the poo)

when we got back from sainsbury's, i kind of got the feeling again, and generally, I'm feeling rather tightened.

Doesn't mean anything's happening, but I thought I'd better update you all, because you're all obviously so excited Grin

youtalkin - we had sex last night.
It didn't do anything, and I think DH was a bit annoyed at having to have sex.
(last time we did it, I couldn't find a comfy position, so this time, we did it kind of missionary, but i was holding him up away from the bump - remember this is the man who can't bend in the middle, so he couldn't hold himself up! Grin )

Cervix and student midwife Jackie - glad we've got the professional in.

just having another twinge now. (it doesn't hurt, so it can't be a contraction. I'm sticking with the word twinge until it feels like something's happening)

you're all going to hate me if this thread goes on for days, aren't you?

oh, I've been drinking Wine in the hope that it'll kick start (not tonight!!) becuase of sod's law, but I think sod's getting wise to me now....

um..... have you by any chance had a little feel around to see what's going on up there?

just so i know whether to finish the bottle or not.

drinking wine an excellent idea, nickel, i did so at 40+4 with dd and she turned up at 4.30am on 40+5... i'm a bit pissed off because i've just gone through two days of contractions and now nothing. contractions are just not fun enough to be having without making a full production of it, imo. bouncing miserably on ball contemplating more (bleurgh) raspberry leaf tea here. pah.

(is the 3rd mr a's birthday, dog?)
