Ok, so I think I may possibly be in labour...

Was woken up at about 6.40 which lots of pain in my uterus, however this isn't unusual at the moment, but I couldn't get back to sleep as it was unusually painful, plus quite painful in my bottom which I haven't had till now, and feeling a little bit nauseous.

I've been to the loo and. well, you know, expelled stuff that needed expelling, and my show, which has been coming in bits for days is now bloody.

Pains are intermittent atm, and not really timable yet (I've been in constant bloody pain for weeks so finding it hard to tell the difference!)

Am planning a HWB, but my first labour what about 5-6 from start to finish, so am anticipating this one to be shorter. At what point should I call the MW?

DH is just getting ready and can hopefully take DD to nursery, just as I'd planned (see my cosmic ordering thread).

What do you think? Time to start filling up the pool?

Happy Birthday Porto!

Interesting about Holst, he was born only a few miles from here.

Feel like things are a bit slow, only because DD's was so quick, I expected this one to be too. It's steady, but feel a bit bad for the MW hanging around. She's just gone out for a walk around the block actually. Just wondering if I should take the opportunity for a bit of nipple stim to encourage things...

Starting to feel the feelings I got last time of not quite performing up to standard. I felt that everyone was disappointed that the second stage was taking so long. This time I made such a big deal about everything be potentially so quick, and it isn't. MW is being great, but I can't help but feel like I'm 'not trying hard enough'. It's the school swot in me :(

You are doing great! Grin

Good luck :)

oopsandbabycoconuts · 21/09/2010 13:25

You are doing amazingly - being upright will help that second stage so will being relaxed.

Bella32 · 21/09/2010 13:25

Oh lordy, Bumper. Am certain the midwife is not disappointed in you. Do you really think she's walking round thinking 'This woman just isn't trying' ? Is she going to give you a report card after?

Banish all such thoughts immediately, Bumper!

PomPotty · 21/09/2010 13:27

Oh don't feel like that - MW is perfectly used to all manner of diff labour speeds.... It's probably taking longer as you are more relaxed this time being at home. It'll take as long as it takes.

Come more positive-ness now please, think of you little baby - you'll be meeting him/her really really soon Smile and hugs

FoghornLeghorn · 21/09/2010 13:27

You are doing great Bumper ! Unfortunately some things are just beyond our control - all you can do is go with the flow.

Don't doubt yourself :)

nigglewiggle · 21/09/2010 13:28

My second took a bit longer to get going than my first. It turned out she was turned slightly. It helped massively to have a wee. The combination of making some room and moving up and down stairs helped to get her in the right position. It might be worth a try.

PomPotty · 21/09/2010 13:28

oops that's not meant to be a link

Bella32 · 21/09/2010 13:28

Anyway, if you've got a bit of time to spare you could always floss Grin

FoghornLeghorn · 21/09/2010 13:31

With DD2 I felt like I was so near the end but when MW examined me I was only 7cm. She turned me on to my right side and within minutes DD2 was born. Maybe a change of position would help ?

pinkbasket · 21/09/2010 13:33

Only just seen this, good luck Smile.

rosieposey · 21/09/2010 13:35

Just seen this too - how exciting! A gorgeous baby by tonight :) Good luck Bumper, from what i am reading you are doing fantastically! xx

ohforfoxsake · 21/09/2010 13:36

Oh Bumper, the last thing you should be thinking about right now is what anyone else thinks!

We're here for the duration, however long it takes. Grin

Take it as it comes, and don't worry about 'performing'!

Bumperlicious · 21/09/2010 13:38

Just sort of of pacing round the house, been to the loo, that bought another one on. Going up and down the stairs a bit, bouncing on the ball. I'm bored tbh! But I worry that if I put some TV or something on it might slow down even more. Better to be distracted or focused?

Sorry to disappoint those of you who thought it'd be over by lunch time!

Put the tv on if you want, better to go with the flow IMHO. Time to focus later.

Bumperlicious · 21/09/2010 13:42

Yep, DD will be picked up by my SIL, assuming her car passes it's MOT Grin (it should!).

I think I am anxious about the next stage, not looking forward to it, so maybe that is hindering me a bit. I need to do some Ina May stylee visualisation of my Yoni opening like a cave!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 21/09/2010 13:44

Y y the lady on twitter only tweeted 9 times - poor effort Grin

Good luck bumper :) sounds like you are doing great!

Bumperlicious · 21/09/2010 13:45

For the record, apart from my cosmic ordering to have the baby today, last night I shoved an evening primrose oil capsule where the sun don't shine! Not sure if that did the trick but worth a try for anyone else waiting.

Bella32 · 21/09/2010 13:46

Oooh - a birth and an MOT? It's all happening over your way, isn't it Bumper?

Watch a bit of trashy afternoon tv - why ever not? Grin

LoveJules3 · 21/09/2010 13:52
