I am at my highest weight since being pregnant 10 years ago. I am 14 stone and 5ft 6.
I just couldn't stop eating/ bingeing and saw myself go above 12, 13 and now at 14 stone. All put on in a year - a stressful year.

I've resorted my fitbit, got the app and walked 5k yesterday and today with an aim to eat 1200 calories. But food is my mental comfort. Gah
I need new clothes now I'm too fat for everything I own.

Oh Orgy! I hope you are both ok - of course he will be, you may feel a bit wobbly! Such a milestone.

Well done on the loss - keep it up! I'll weigh on a Friday again this week unless I go tits up working at home!

Planning helps me because I am a greedy cow and prone to binging on big portions. If I know what's coming, it calms me down! But it's not for everyone.

mychildrenarebarmy · 04/09/2018 08:15

Good planning ThrownMuse. I want to get back to swimming too but I cannot find a costume anywhere. I’m going to have to order online and hope for the best. 🤞🏻

OrgyofBarminess well done on the loss. I’m sure your little one will have a great day but you are certainly allowed some tears. It is a huge thing.

I was better with eating yesterday, but I’d forgotten we were going out in the evening. It wasn’t too bad in terms of food but I did end up eating some cake to be polite as everyone kept making a fuss about how amazing it was and how I MUST try it (it wasn’t!). We’d had dinner earlier and luckily the rest of the food was buffet style so that was easier.

I’ve neither gained nor lost this week. I’m satisfied with that as it’s been a very up and down week.

duckii · 04/09/2018 13:44

Good planning @ThrownMuse

Well done on the losses and maintaining weight.
I had a bit of a blip.. well big blip last few days. But I'm back on track as of yesterday. Will be weighing myself on Monday so that will give me a solid week of being good (I hope!).

I need goals! My goal is also my birthday which is in 12 weeks. Is 12kg weight loss in 12 weeks possible? Hmm

ThrownMuse · 04/09/2018 18:54

How did it go, Orgy?

Mychildren - my swiming cossie is from M&S and is a size 18. It's a great fit (I'm an apple shape), and lasts me a year generally. It's this one:

www.marksandspencer.com/secret-slimming-colour-block-swimsuit/p/p60130943?image=SD_02_T52_9822_E4_X_EC_90&color=BLUEMIX&prevPage=plp&pdpredirect

Duckii - yes, it's possible but that's 2 pounds a week! Quite tough to sustain for that long (not being unsupportive, just thinking of how I need the odd treat/blip sometimes to keep me motivated!). But if you can do it, we'll cheer you on!

Also - birthday month twins! Flowers.

How is everyone else doing? I am on target for food, but only 7k steps (back to working from home = no breaks), but not stressing too much as will clock up extra tomorrow.

OrgyOfBarminess · 04/09/2018 19:54

@ThrownMuse I managed not to cry but hubby did when he was helping him with his collar, DS absolutely loved it so all good, thank you for asking.

I've totally relied on feeding alone as calorie burning today, DS is only doing a couple of hours this week so I'm taking the car I'm wanting to walk as much as I can.

ThrownMuse · 04/09/2018 21:01

Aw. It's so hard to see them go off without you! Your lovely DP too!

ThrownMuse · 05/09/2018 06:59

Morning all. Sorry, I feel like I'm hogging this thread! I just find it helpful to log my day first thing to help me stay on track!

Food today: egg on toasted pitta; beef salad wrap; homemade chicken stew. Fruit and low cal jelly for snacks. Also find those 60 cal instant soups really handy if I get a rumble!

Working from home but will get an hours walk in at some point.

How is everyone else doing? How is your return to work Today?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 05/09/2018 09:26

My goal this week is 7k steps per day, thrown. I’m increasing it by 1000 a week at the moment. Aiming for between 10000-15000 eventually.

Not doing well with the food tbh. Really stressful week at work last week and now a course of steroids for my asthma mean wagon is somewhere in the distance. Goal this week might just be not to eat everything in sight.

ThrownMuse · 05/09/2018 09:46

Oh Rafal, I hope you feel better soon. Take it all very slowly and cut yourself some slack. Start as you say with just one tiny goal, but don't torture yourelf if you're not ready yet.

Sometimes it's enough to just get through the hour.

JustTheLemons · 05/09/2018 10:46

Morning everyone! Great work on the losses!

I forgot to comment Monday but I did weigh- 14:06, so another 2 pounds off, which I’m pleased with.

I’m sooo hoping to be in the 13 zone by September 21st. I still think I can do it- if I step up the exercise and stay very strict the next 3 weeks. I went for a 5k run last night and loved it so may do that again tonight- also planning to swim.

What is everyone else doing for exercise?

Happy hump day everyone!

ThrownMuse · 05/09/2018 11:04

Congrats, Lemons! We're cheering you on to get to the 13's by 21/09!

Exercise - just walking at the mo but swimming twice a week when I can. My focus is the food, and it takes so much focus! I'll be having my lunch at 12pm on the dot today!

JustTheLemons · 05/09/2018 11:15

Thanks Muse! I’m hoping!

I agree about the food- I’ve stepped up my exercise recently because in the last few weeks I’ve barely done any as my mental energy was purely focused on getting my eating habits in line! It really is the most important thing.

ThrownMuse · 05/09/2018 14:02

We'll crack it, Lemons!

When I feel myself wobbling I look at the photo I took of myself on holiday, in my swimming cossie in a FULL LENGTH MIRROR SIDE ON!!!!

JustTheLemons · 05/09/2018 14:32

I do the same thing! I got to my highest ever weight on an all inclusive in Mexico for my 30th back in January- I took a lot of awful pictures because I knew I would need to start losing weight and I would want the comparison.

I’ve lost 25 pounds since then and I keep the pictures on my phone to spur me on!!

ThrownMuse · 05/09/2018 16:07

Wow on the 25 pounds, absolutely fantastic. Are you doing the same method now to keep losing?

Sometime the cold, harsh reality of a photo is the only solution!

JustTheLemons · 05/09/2018 16:26

Thanks! Yep exactly the same, counting calories, just adding in more exercise now!

ThrownMuse · 06/09/2018 06:44

Good to know it works Lemons!

Food today: Eggs; ham salad; small portion of spag bol.

I've got that itch to binge today...working from home and always dangerous. Can also feel the wine monster knocking (not this early obvs!)...today is going to take some distraction as tomorrow is weigh day and I really, really don't want to cock it up!

How is everyone else doing?

sansouci · 06/09/2018 08:24

I was so "bad" today.Confused I feel overwhelmed and stressed atm so I ate. And ate. When will I learn that comfort eating is self-sabotaging? I feel bloated and not very well...

ThrownMuse · 06/09/2018 08:30

San please do not feel bad: we are all here for you and we all understand (I have a real itch to binge today as I'm stressed about work).

Today is a new day. Do something nice for yourself, like a walk and a coffee or some flowers.

Sending you a big hug. 💚

duckii · 06/09/2018 08:35

That's amazing @JustTheLemons

@ThrownMuse I went to my mums and she made me my favourite pasta and I ended up having a binge yesterday. (Yes I know, again!) and barely drank any water.. but today is another new day. Had too many cheat days, time to get back on the wagon.

You're doing so well. Working from home must be hard. Too much temptation? Try go out for a walk and keep all your healthy snacks next to you. Either way, you can do it!

duckii · 06/09/2018 08:37

Ps. I've been comfort eating too. It just makes me feel worse afterwards. I'm going out with my lovely, skinny friend today for coffee. She can anything in sight and not put weight on. Wish I was like that!Sad

duckii · 06/09/2018 08:38

Eat anything *

sansouci · 06/09/2018 08:44

Thank you!

"After all, tomorrow is another day" etc but I'm still angry with myself. I've always struggled with my weight, always had a love/hate relationship with food. And I've probably tried almost every diet there is. The only one that worked for me is what's now called the keto diet but it's not a lifestyle. Impossible to deny myself carbs forever.

ThrownMuse · 06/09/2018 09:04

Ah Duckii, you're doing great, esp with a baby!

And I can not resist carbs, they are my nemesis, esp pasta, doubly so when cooked by my Mum! So I understand, San! I did LC a couple of years ago and lost 1.5 stone, then Christmas came...all over.

Thanks for your support, too - I just need to keep in the zone, and I've just made an appointment to go and get my hair cut, to distract me. I might sort through some 'thin' clothes later to motivate me...

If I get through today then it's wine tomorrow!

duckii · 06/09/2018 09:04

@sansouci keto diet works for me too but so hard to stay on it. I don't have as much fat though on it. How do you do it?
