I am at my highest weight since being pregnant 10 years ago. I am 14 stone and 5ft 6.
I just couldn't stop eating/ bingeing and saw myself go above 12, 13 and now at 14 stone. All put on in a year - a stressful year.

I've resorted my fitbit, got the app and walked 5k yesterday and today with an aim to eat 1200 calories. But food is my mental comfort. Gah
I need new clothes now I'm too fat for everything I own.

Go for it Rafals! Run straight past Costa!

I had wine last night as driving later so no drinking...

HelloViroids · 09/11/2018 09:15

Hi all - having a good time weight wise but a bad time life wise...

My depression has HUGELY spiked, for seemingly no reason - which is very, well, depressing! Dealt with it v badly on Wed, going out and getting very drunk with colleagues after work, then was so low (and hungover) that I called in sick yest... am a mess Sad
The advantage of spewing my guts up, and then being too depressed to really make food yest, is that it’s finally taken me to my first stone loss. Every cloud I guess...
Just checking in to try to a) keep going and b) be slightly accountable and try to treat my body with some kindness.

Good luck with Friday all Flowers

ThrownMuse · 10/11/2018 05:52

Oh Viroids, I'm sorry to hear that, and hope you're feeling a little better today. I think we all have to do what we have to do to get through the tough spots. As you say, just be kind to yourself.

How is everyone else getting on?

I'm flying solo wirh DS today whilst DP visits his elderly DF. We'll head to town for some fun on the pier, then we're seeing a magic show at the theatre.

Mostly we'll be trying not to get blown away, it's v stormy here today!

duckii · 10/11/2018 07:16

Hi all. Not read previous posts. Will catch up later hopefully.
Just a quick update, not been a great week. I'm still the same weight, no loss! Really frustrating. Sometimes I feel like giving up but I hate how I look in the mirror Sad. Really need to get avoid comfort eating...

Hope you are all well and sounds like you are all doing well. Well done! I think need some of your motivation/support ...

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 10/11/2018 16:33

That’s rubbish viroids. Just be kind to yourself and remember you will come out the other side, you just need to sit and wait for it to happen.

Hope you avoided getting blown away, Thrown. Wind and rain have been mental here.

The comfort eating/binge eating is a PITA, isn’t it, duckii. I’m trying too work on distracting myself. I’d say it’s been successful, but I suspect the state of my mental health has played a bigger part in not eating than anything else this week.

ThrownMuse · 11/11/2018 05:56

Duckii do not despair, and do not hate your body. I felt (still feel) like that for so long, avoiding mirrors, photos, social occasions. No matter that I had had a baby, was dealing with PND and the sudden death of my father. I was way harder on myself than I deserved.

It will happen when the time is right, and in the mean time just look after you. Your baby is still so little, and things have been incredibly stressful. I wish I could give you a hug!

Anyway...Sunday 11 November: 14:8 Smile

So one pound off target, total loss 1 stone 6.

Annoyed I didn't hit 1 stone 7, but if someone had offered me this weight loss I August I would have bitten their hand off (boom boom), so I'm keeping some perspective (see, now I'm doing it).

Next goal is Friday 20 December: 13:13, which will be 2 stone.

Anyway! Birthday lunch for me today and by the sounds of the weather outside, it's a super stormy day but I'm determined to run this morning. You may never see me again!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/11/2018 07:53

Go for it, thrown. I haven’t washed or blown away yet. Although I did get quite wet from a huge wall of water that came over the sea wall at high tide on Thursday.

ThrownMuse · 11/11/2018 07:58

I went!!!! Low tide so not too dramatic but that wind is wild! We're going for a pier walk before lunch. Can't wait! This weather is my favourite.

Sorry you got drenched Rafals. 🐟🐟🐟

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/11/2018 09:35

Well done. It was pretty funny tbh. I hadn’t even got to the seafront and was well away from the sea wall, I’ve never seen it that bad.

MostlyHungryAgain · 11/11/2018 15:40

Viroids I hope you are feeling better and brighter today x
Rafals hope you are ok too
Thrown you are our inspiration
Dukki I'm the same, no loss, however this also means no gain, so really it's all good. Keep at it!

Sorry I've been MIA, has been a hectic weekend. I also did loads of cooking (veg chilli etc) and baked a bunch of potatoes so I can grab quick lunches and dinners. I've done sort of ok the last few days but did eat a few bits of shortbread at work! I didn't overeat like I normally do at the weekends.

I feel much less podgy, although the weight scales are the same. Just need to keep at it now!

no exercise - normal.

MostlyHungryAgain · 11/11/2018 15:41

Thrown Happy Birthday!

duckii · 11/11/2018 16:05

Happy birthday @ThrownMuse You have done so well. So enjoy today!!

Good idea @MostlyHungryAgain I need to do that but been another hectic weekend. It's such a busy two months for us and I'm sure everyone leading up to Christmas.

I really need to do extra well these next two weeks before my big 30! I wanted to be fit and slim for it but I guess I'll still be fat lol Blush

Where is the time going?! Please stop for a while so I can catch up and actually loose something!

Does anyone weigh their food with scales?

duckii · 11/11/2018 16:09

@ThrownMuse sorry about your father. What a tough time you must have had. You've done so well now so take lots of photos now on your birthday.
I know how you feel. I'm avoiding most things, no photos with me and my baby and hate looking in the mirror.
Need to remain positive though. I have to believe I can do this!

You can do this! I need to lose one stone at least by 20th December. Is that possible?
How long did it take for you to lose one stone?

MostlyHungryAgain · 11/11/2018 17:20

no Dukii I don't.

today's menu:
B: 2 slices wholemeal toast & no sugar peanut butter, 1 banana
2 x coffees & skimmed milk
L: baked potato & veg chilli
3 x shortbread biscuits (!)
D: 1 x breaded quorn escalope, salad and 1 home made wedge (!).

I think around 1400 :/ (300 was 3 pieces of shortbread!!!)

duckii · 11/11/2018 20:12

That's not too bad @MostlyHungryAgain you should allow yourself a great. Everything in moderation... something I don't understand!! Must lay off the chocs tomorrow....

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 11/11/2018 21:46

Hi folks newbie here
I weigh 16 st 4 which is a lot more than most of you but is 10 stone less than I weighed before my bariatric surgery 6 years ago. My lowest weight was 14 stone and I would like to get back to that.

I ran walked a half marathon a month ago which was hell but an achievement. My problem is I am a teacher and we always seem to have junk on school. I have signed up for RED January which I hope will encourage me to continue with the fitness side. I did a poppy run 10k today which was difficult but I finished it mainly walking again.

Now I just need to sort my diet so I can benefit from the running. It is frustrating as I was eating well and running 20 miles a week in training and I lost a whole 10 pounds I two months. Just have to keep going!

MostlyHungryAgain · 12/11/2018 01:49

welcome aboard Staying!
well done for the weightloss and for the running!

I'm you will sort it with that dedication. Keep at it!

73.1kg this morning. gahh.

ThrownMuse · 12/11/2018 06:59

Thank you all for the birthday wishes; I had a lovely day, lots of fresh air and a fab lunch, and wine and cheese in the evening!

Back on it today and ready for the Christmas Count Down! Woiuld like to see 13:13 by Friday 20th December.

Welcome Staying - I sarted at 15:13 so not that far off where you are, and I'm now down to 14:8, though not as much of an amazing loss as you! Well done! That's taken me about 12 weeks, I think, so going slowly, which is what it is. Am also newish to running, so know how you feel!

Duckii - thank you. TIme is a great healer.

Yes, its possible to lose a stone by Christmas, but that's a very tough call! It took me about 6 weeks to lose that first stone, and I wasn't looking after a little baby, and was sleeping well, and could plan my food, and DS is at school now. It's very different. And no family staying or houses to buy! Be kind to yourself, just go slowly. And take pictures - you might not want to look at them now but you will be pleased you did in a few years time. They grow so fast! I don;t care when I look at those pictures now, I just see my DS.

Back to weighing on Friday now for me, expecting to stay the same this week, but we'll see. I'm going to have a few wine few weeks too, partly weight loss, partly needing to get a chapter of my PhD written by 14/12, so will be working all hours!

Happy Monday, everyone!

ThrownMuse · 12/11/2018 07:54

Wine FREE obviously!

MostlyHungryAgain · 12/11/2018 15:09

I may not weigh in tomorrow as I've had a very carby day and am very ashamed.

B: 2 slices toast/marmalade
L: spicy bean wrap & crisps
S: 1 piece shortbread
D: broccoli cheese escalope and 2 home made wedges.

oh dear.

MostlyHungryAgain · 12/11/2018 15:10

Realising I haven't lost a gram since I joined this thread... Grin

MostlyHungryAgain · 13/11/2018 01:20

73.4 :(

I am going to do 5:2 i think for a few weeks- and do a 2 day tomorrow.

HelloViroids · 13/11/2018 09:04

Hi all

Thanks for the lovely messages.

In spite of a weekend’s food tasting on hol, after a blip yest I am still a stone lighter than I was mid Sept.

Have made a Dr appt for 2 weeks time, and if I still feel so low I’ll ask about upping my anti depressants. Just hope my weight keeps going down along with my mood! (Gallows humour)

Need to try to swim tonight for my brain, never mind my body - wish me luck with motivation.

Good luck for Tues all Flowers

ThrownMuse · 13/11/2018 09:39

Morning folks.

Mostly - don't despair (or go off on an extreme weight loss plan, speaking from expereince the more I swapped horses, the more I gained). That said, if 5:2 works for you, go for it.

We all know this - if losing weight was easy, and life was simple, we'd all be thinner/happy with our weight.

Hello - welcome back, and I hope you had a fantastic time? Being a stone lighter is a cause for celebration, so well done. And I'm sorry to hear you are feeling low. Swimming is a great mood booster, hopefully a paddle and a trip to the GP will tip the balance for you. Flowers

I had a day of disaster yesterday - ended up late at work, then stuck in traffic, arriving home 3 hours later than planned, and DP had cooked nothing. Ended up eating a massive bowl of pasta and finishing off my birthday maltesers. Not great, but there you have it.

On the plus side I have just dropped the car in for the MOT and I ran/walked home, so have ticked off week 2/day 2 of C25K.

Am working from home today and might have to throw away the remaining birthday cheese....

Happy Tuesday everyone.

MostlyHungryAgain · 13/11/2018 15:11

Better day today!

B: 2 slices toast/marmalade and a banana
L: Greek Salad, 3 falafels
S: 1 x piece shortbread (I will be glad when the box in the office is finished!!)
D: cabbage, cauliflower and aubergine home made curry but no bread or rice with it.
drinks: Gin/soda

Think around 1200 is about right.
Actually still hungry but going to ignore it!

Viroids, hope you have a nice swim and that you feel better afterwards.
Thrown, good luck with not eating birthday cheese and at least you don't have any maltesers left to tempt you!
