I am at my highest weight since being pregnant 10 years ago. I am 14 stone and 5ft 6.
I just couldn't stop eating/ bingeing and saw myself go above 12, 13 and now at 14 stone. All put on in a year - a stressful year.

I've resorted my fitbit, got the app and walked 5k yesterday and today with an aim to eat 1200 calories. But food is my mental comfort. Gah
I need new clothes now I'm too fat for everything I own.

Hey Duckii - sorry to hear things are tough still at the mo - vent as much as you need to here and don't worry too much about dieting.

Rafal- I think you have found the answer!

I weigh on a Friday, and in stones and pounds. 8 pounds gone so far: hoping to hit double figures this week...

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 17/09/2018 18:08

I’d assume that it was my scales that were wrong but my clothes would suggest differently. There’s no way I weigh less than I did the last time they weighed me.

At least I can breath now and can move about a bit more so I might get down to that weight in a couple of weeks.

ThrownMuse · 17/09/2018 20:37

Congrats, Rafal - great that you are feeling beter.

sansouci · 17/09/2018 20:44

Hello my determined friends! I still haven't replaced the battery in my scale (I misplaced the old one and don't remember anything about it except that it was round Blush) BUT I've been keeping a gimlet eye on my calorie consumption and have upped my steps to 5,000/day. Better than the 2,000 I was averaging before. Halo

ThrownMuse · 18/09/2018 05:46

Hey there San! - that's a significant increase and you should be really pleased. Well done!

I have woken up full of cold but hoping it's manageable and puts me off my food rather than makes me wallow in comfort snacks!

It also sounds fantastically windy outside so looking forward to a blustery beach walk later...

ThrownMuse · 19/09/2018 06:17

Urgh, I am full of a horrible cold, snotty and a sore throat.

Today will be what it will be. Too much work to do so no chance of going back to bed...

Sad
duckii · 19/09/2018 21:23

Oh no @ThrownMuse don't beat yourself up over it, when you're full of cold and have work to do.. it's difficult to stay healthy!

I'm just the usual. Good and bad days, and time is flying by so I really need to get my act together. I just don't know what to eat everyday. I need to meal plan for the week!

duckii · 19/09/2018 21:24

Feel better soon! Star

ThrownMuse · 20/09/2018 06:44

Thank you Duckii - still feeling rough but no appetite so rolling with that.

How are things generally with you? Other than time flying?!

No idea what I am eating today either. Lemsip mainly!

duckii · 20/09/2018 09:03

You need your energy so just take it easy and get better then you can get back on track.

Still the same, and on top we are deciding to buy a new house this week. A lot going on, and I really have very little or no will power and motivation.
I'm barely drinking any water, just eating rubbish - when/where I can! But I think today I will have a tuna salad for lunch and grilled chicken and veg for dinner.

Ps. My DH was meant to be on this journey with me to lose weight as he needs to do as well but he has given up so I think that's why I'm finding it difficult. We did so well together in the beginning because we were there to pick each other up. Now he's stopped, its so hard! Especially when we wants me to make pizza, lasagne, curry etc!!

Funclesmuck · 20/09/2018 09:50

Any room for a ‘not so’ little one?? I’ve started this Monday. Mfp and exercise. I used to be able to run 10k but have buggered up my knee, had an excessive eating/drinking summer and BAM I’m 14:6 stone!!! I am usually around 13 which is till too much, i really want to be 12 stone by next summer.

OrgyOfBarminess · 20/09/2018 10:12

I've completely ballsed up this week, and forgotten to weigh myself.

Having my 6 week check today so they'll tell me and I'll be able to discuss how to manage my calories and breastfeeding hopefully! Wish me luck!

Hope ur all ok?

sansouci · 20/09/2018 11:31

I weighed myself for the first time in 18 months: I weigh 14 st, which is the heaviest I've ever been, except after the birth of DCs. Absolutely horrified. I want to hide in my bed and never come out.Confused

ThrownMuse · 20/09/2018 14:07

Duckii - that is NOT helpful, any of it. And if your DH is not supportive, not sure he has any place commenting on your honeymoon pictures! I hope things clam down for you soon.

Welcome Funcle - none of us are small (yet), so you are in good company! I do MFP too and it's really helping, me.

Hey Orgie - don't worry, you have rather a lot going on right now, but from what I remember, BF burns 20 million calories a day.

San - you found the batteries then? Do not feel horrified, we need to be kind to ourselves!

MaMisled · 20/09/2018 14:15

Please eat more than 1200 cals! Have 1400 to 1500.....You'll still lose 1 to 2lb a week and are more likely to stick at it. Have a 200 Cal treat in the evenings. Good luck!

duckii · 20/09/2018 15:34

Welcome @Funclesmuck I know how you feel. I'm 13 stone and used to be 2 stone lighter and happier. Looking to lose at least a stone by December for my birthday/Xmas. And then another stone by end of April for my LO first birthday.. it's looking unlikely but I'm still going to try!! MFP is really good for tracking.

@OrgyOfBarminess that's great, how are you finding BF? It made me really hungry and I didn't lose weight but then thats probably because I ate the wrong things. But good luck with managing bf and calories!

@sansouci I feel your pain.. I think sometimes you need to see the worst to motivate you and then when the pounds drop and you see the weight go down on the scales, it's a great feeling. Just hard to get there. But we can do it!!

@ThrownMuse I know, he said he can't do it at the moment due to stressful job (which is true) he doesn't have as much to lose as me but I'm just going to make healthy food and meals so he will have to eat it and no junk in the house! There's no way I'm making different meals and look after my 4 months LO with very little sleep. Oh, I bought some jelly pots today! I can't remember if you mentioned some sort of cup soup? How are you feeling?

ThrownMuse · 20/09/2018 21:16

Thanks, MaMisled!!!!

Feeling much better thanks, Duckii. Hoping my Friday weigh in will be kind...I've not gone off the rails, but I have had some sweet stuff and some bread as have been feeling so exhausted. You know that feeling!

I think your approach is bang on; do what you can in terms of what you can manage and you'll get there. I don't do different meals either (unless it's homemade lasagne which I will eat, and eat, and eat and then eat again for breakfast).

Jelly is good! I buy the 10 cal ones, but ASDA do some 5 cal ones too! A bit rubbery, but who gives a shit if it stops you mainlining the biscuits, right? Cup a soup I just buy brand own ones, around 60 calories a go? I am always madly hungry at 3.30, and one of those takes the edge off until 5pm. I also find a teaspoon of marmite works too.

Right, bed, then weigh in tomorrow. Wine night for me tommorrow, and fish risotto for tea! DP going out tomorrow so I have the sofa and tv to myself!!!

ThrownMuse · 21/09/2018 06:28

21/09/18: 15:4. One pound off, total loss 9 pounds.

Which Is fine, as did have cheese on toast in the week, and some chocolate.

DEFINITELY aiming for double figures next week! And aiming for a loss of 1.7 stone by 11.11 (which is 7 weeks to lose 11 pounds).

Everybody else Ok? It's Wine Friday! Grin

Funclesmuck · 21/09/2018 07:59

Hi all, thanks for the welcome, I’m not going to weigh until a week Monday to give myself a good go at this. I usually weigh everyday. Stupid I know as I can vary a few llbs in a few hours! I’ve decided I cannot give up weekend treats so am being disciplined in the week instead. I finished yesterday on 1100 cals which was hard going but not totally painful, I’m filling the week with mainly veg, protein and fruit. Today is going to be a test because it’s steak Nd wine night chez funcles on a Friday. But I’ve bought some lovely cheeses and crisp white wine for tomorrow, and Sunday is lamb dinner, so I’m keeping my eyes on the prize. Usually fridays would be a large glass (see bottle) of red and then the whole bloody night is down the pan. But I’ve booked myself into a yoga class at eight tonight and am doing pick up of DCs from their activities so that takes me over the threshold of wanting wine/munchies. Good luck all and happy Friday

ThrownMuse · 21/09/2018 08:27

Sounds good, Funcle. I do that too. For 6 days I stick to around 1300, then Fri eve I have wine and whatever size portion of dinner I want.

Weirdly, allowing me one evening hasn't led to a total binge, and I have found it fine to pick it up again the next day.

Like you I plan quite carefully so I don't wobble. Planning yoga and driving will do it! If all else fails I fuck off to bed early!

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!

sansouci · 21/09/2018 10:44

I did 9,400 steps today and oh! How I ache. My face looks a little less podgy, I think! But I had a brownie for breakfast... very naughty. And then a curry for dinner... even worse! No alcohol, though. And my Fitbit says I burnt off 3,000 calories.🤷‍♀️

ThrownMuse · 21/09/2018 12:37

Holy cow, San - check YOU out!

Brownies and curry come to 3,000 calories, you've broken even!

OrgyOfBarminess · 21/09/2018 16:54

So 6 week check Dr didn't weigh me in fact I didn't even take my coat off! I've not weighed myself at all and I'm holding off until Tuesday. Been really bad for skipping meals this week I've had school runs and appointments every day this week so it's been hectic.

ThrownMuse · 22/09/2018 05:23

Hope you're feeling ok Orgy? Sounds like a crazy week for you.

I had a very flat evening in the end - went for a glass of wine at lunchtime with a friend, picked up DS from school, and couldn't face drinking or eating much at all after that (I am clearly not well!). And I was in bed by 9pm! Hey ho, I'll make up for it next week!

ThrownMuse · 23/09/2018 06:35

Good morning all, I hope you have lots of lovely plans ahead.

DP is taking DS to the local skate park and I need to do some work. Possibly just seeing friends this afternoon.

Eggs for breakfast, homemade squash and lentil soup for lunch. Making pasta bake for tea so I'll have a small portion of that with lots of salad...
