I am at my highest weight since being pregnant 10 years ago. I am 14 stone and 5ft 6.
I just couldn't stop eating/ bingeing and saw myself go above 12, 13 and now at 14 stone. All put on in a year - a stressful year.

I've resorted my fitbit, got the app and walked 5k yesterday and today with an aim to eat 1200 calories. But food is my mental comfort. Gah
I need new clothes now I'm too fat for everything I own.

Sorry I haven't been posting.. I just keep slipping up and feeling down then slipping up more.. maybe Monday now? This is happening every week now. Sorry guys. Bit of a downer post. But well done to all of you doing so well Thanks

ThrownMuse · 12/09/2018 06:24

No apologies needed Duckii...trying to lose weight is an all consuming (ha ha) task. It's really hard and then we fail, feel bad, and eat more. This has been my pattern for the last 8 years since having my son!

If you need a break, have it, come back when you feel the time is right for you!

We've got friends over on Sat for good and wine, so I'll have to forfeit my Friday wine, which I really look forward to. I may weigh Sat to allow for the extra food I binged on due to time of the month...

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

mychildrenarebarmy · 12/09/2018 08:06

I’m still reading but not posting much because it would all be the same.

duckii · 12/09/2018 08:17

Thanks. It's just hard with 4 month old, little sleep and difficult husband at the moment but I need to be stronger. Sometimes I wish I was the opposite -- when I'm stressed, I comfort eat. Some people can't eat when stressed.

Enjoy the extra food/wine. You deserve it! It can be hard when it's time of the month.

Where has everyone else gone? X

OrgyOfBarminess · 12/09/2018 08:29

@duckii

Don't worry just keep popping in and out, I can't bear to look when I've had a binge day either.

Plus it's bloody hard juggling day to day with a little one, you just grab what there, don't b so hard on yourself your doing good x

ThrownMuse · 12/09/2018 08:39

Sending everyone Flowers for those tough days/husbands/moments!

The weather has turned here too, which just makes me want to eat stodge! I've got one of those quorn cottage pies for lunch: it's only 219 calories, and with a big bowl of peas it feels quite hearty. I need to get some instant low-cal hot choc, too...

I stupidly jumped on the scales this morning (why do we do it?!) and I'm the same as I was on Friday. So def weighing on Sat this week to have an extra day to see a loss hopefully: even one pound with satisfy me this week!

duckii · 12/09/2018 17:15

Thank you for your kind words.
I just wish I had the will power.
A few days ago, DH said the following
"I was looking at our honeymoon photos and you were so slim!!!!"
I had a baby 4 months ago.. what does he expect. But then all these celebrities magically go back to their pre-baby weight within weeks! Comments like that make me want to comfort eat! That's why I've been so low. I just don't feel like he's attracted to me anymore because I'm fat and my body has changed so much. That should really motivate me to lose weight but it's not Sad

ThrownMuse · 12/09/2018 17:46

Ouch. Is he normally so tactless?!

I'm so sorry, that's not a very kind thing for him to say. Was it a stupid one off comment? Explain that you have just grown a whole human being and it takes a bit of time for your body to recover from it. Next time, he's free to give it a go himself!

Try not to let it get you down. Your body and what you put in it is nobody else's business!

💚

duckii · 12/09/2018 19:02

@ThrownMuse I wish men could go through pregnancy and birth and afterwards also.
I think it was a one off comment but it still hurt. He knows how I feel about myself and I'm down about it. Ever since I gave birth, he's not very affectionate to me and now that comment. This is why I comfort eat. I need to get back on track. I do miss my old body and confidence

ThrownMuse · 12/09/2018 19:24

Oh Duckii that's really tough, and really unfair. Have you had a chance to tell him how his comment made you feel?

Sleep deprivation can play a massive part in moods and how we view our partner, too. As well as just to day to day exhaustion of being a new mum.

If you can boost your confidence elsewhere, and turn the focus away from your post baby body for now, you may feel a little better. Don't worry (not easy I know!) about rushing back to how things used to be, because it's an impossible goal.

Babies change everything! Be kind to yourself and personally I'd be leaving your baby wirh your husband and go for a nice long walk and a coffee!

ThrownMuse · 13/09/2018 06:38

Good morning everyone...hope people are doing ok. It's nearly Friday!

Usual food for me today (eggs; chicken sarnie; jacket & beans) but must get out for a walk. Have given up on steps, just can't fit them in, so next week I'm going back to having my walk at 6.30am before DP leaves for work!

Sending good vibes for anyone who needs a boost.

duckii · 13/09/2018 23:16

Thank you @ThrownMuse I did speak to him, he said he didn't mean it like that but I'm not so sure. Anyways, I know I'll feel better about myself when I lose all this weight. How are you getting on? how much are you losing a week? You're doing really well, you deserve that wine! I checked my weight today after 2 weeks of comfort eating. And I've put on about 2 pounds. I thought it would have been a lot more.. who would have thought a gain would make me happy lol!
Tomorrow I'm back on it!!

ThrownMuse · 14/09/2018 15:51

Sorry for the late reply Ducki, was put the house v early today and only just seen this.

It's a tough one; only you know what DP meant but if it makes you feel rubbish, it's not good. I think we all invest in weight loss as a cure all to solving our isses (marital, mental, health...you get the picture!)...I don't know! Just be kind to yourself. We find it hard to prioritise our selves, don't we?! Either way, you matter.

2 pounds is fine!!!! Really nothing to worry about!

I weighed in at 15:5 this morn...so have list 8 pounds since starting. It's not always easy, but the method is working, so that motivates me! My goal is 1.7 stone by my birthday in November, then another half a stone by Christmas, making two. Then a festive break, and another two by April. Then I'll reassess!

Is anyone else still here?

ThrownMuse · 14/09/2018 15:51

But yes!!!! Tonight is wine and chicken curry!

duckii · 14/09/2018 16:26

That's amazing!! Keep it up. It's my birthday month same as yours for my goal for pre preg weight (10kg loss) then LO first birthday in May (preferably another 10kg loss but wouldn't mind with 5) it will be tough but I have to do this for myself. I know what you mean. I don't know why I relate happiness to being slim! What sort of diet are you following? Enjoy your wine and curry tonight, well deserved. It's grilled fish and veg for me!

Yes, where has everyone gone? I hope you're all well!

ThrownMuse · 14/09/2018 17:21

We can do this, bit by bit! In our own way.

I'm doing calorie counting and using MFP to log. I eat the same as the family generally at tea time, but exercise portion control. So I'll eat home made spag bol, say, just not 2 servings. It's hard, but I refuse to cook separate meals!

And I plan and carry snacks if we go out.

It's working for me so far but I'm less sleep deprived! You are doing brilliantly, you really are. Flowers

ThrownMuse · 15/09/2018 06:33

Morning all. Happy Saturday! What is everyone up to today?

Not feeling too hungover so hoping I can stick to my calories.

We're cycling into town as there's a food festival on (will need nerves of steel to resist the cheese!).

ThrownMuse · 16/09/2018 06:33

Sorry everyone...I feel like I'm hogging this thread!

If people don't mind me posting daily it really helps me to stay on track?

Food today: eggs on toast; chicken salad pitta; homemade chilli and rice (small portion!). Hopefully a sea swim later and some walking.

If anyone is still here come and say hello!

ninnypoo · 16/09/2018 17:47

Weighed in yesterday and 5lb down in 3 weeks. Not a huge loss but really happy as it includes fish and chips, curry takeaway, bacon French toast and a few other 'treats'. I'm taking a more relaxed approach in the hopes that I actually stick to this long term and change my habits for good.

ThrownMuse · 16/09/2018 21:13

Well done, Ninny - whatever you are doing it's working!

ThrownMuse · 17/09/2018 06:43

Morning!

Busy day today and out of the house most of the day so all about the snacks today! Lots of walking too so that's handy.

Eggs for breakfast; small portion of pasta for lunch; ready meal & salad for tea as DS has a play date, DP home late, so am pleasing myself! Grapes and 10 cal jelly for snacks.

Important week: I know I weighed 15:5 at the beginning of the year (another new year's lost resolution), so if I get under that it means I really am going in the right direction. So 15:3 is my goal!

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

duckii · 17/09/2018 10:45

That's great @ninnypoo well done. Fish and chips and losing weight? That's a bonus!

duckii · 17/09/2018 11:02

Thanks @ThrownMuse sorry for the late post, I had a very hectic busy weekend. Trying to purchase a new house, LO not well and usual bickering with DH. But onwards and upwards, feeling positive today and it's a new week!

I need to get those low cal jellies again, they're yum!
The weather is changing, it's getting darker earlier now. I miss my long summer walks with the baby! I really hate rain and wind Angry

duckii · 17/09/2018 11:03

Ps. You can do this @ThrownMuse when are you weighing? How many kg loss will that be? I prefer kg over lbs for some reason !

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 17/09/2018 11:09

I think I’ve found the solution. You will need a practice nurse with a set of dodgy scales.

Miraculously I have lost 2kg overnight, even though Se weighed me fully clothed. And I’ve grown 2cm since the last time they measured my height. Both of which have officially bought my bmi down.
