How did this happen. I am so, so ashamed of myself. I used to weigh in 13 stone, then overhauled my whole diet and got down to 9stone 8lb.

But I've put it all back on. And so much more. This is shameful and I cannot believe I have let it get this bad. I've even had to buy some size 20 tops. I have tried slimming world but that didn't really
Work for me. So I'm back to calorie counting. And 5:2. From today. I've got to stop making excuses. I am going on an amazing holiday in January with my 2 best friends and. CAN'T be the size I am now.

I am sick of feeling tired, uncomfortable and just plain shit because of what I eat. I've taken before photos (won't post them as they would scar you forever) and have stuck a photo of myself at my smallest when I still thought I looked fat on the fridge for inspiration. I can do this!!!

I've had a jacket potato/beans/butter and a bag of low cal popcorn for dinner. I need to start weighing my food as I'm completely guessing at how many cals are in the potato. I did have a bit too much butter on the potato though, although I think I can forgive that considering how I'll I've felt plus it tastes better. Completely agree about the gravy, NO WAY ON EARTH can a Sunday dinner be eaten without gravy, that's sacrilege. No idea what's for tea yet, will see how I feel a bit later

Had a chippy tea 🙈 But in my defence it was the first time I haven't felt like death warmed up since Friday morning and it was bloody lovely. Back on it tomorrow. Hope everyone's had a good day

How is everyone doing? I've just finished a big slice of cake 🙈 Managed to escape work early, have 30 mins to kill before picking ds up from school and saw the cafe so.... not feeling too guilty and it's all I've had all day, I am still ill and I've got running tonight and it was SO lovely.

Hope everyone's ok!

Ok today I think. Oats with yogurt and nectarine this morning, then soup with a couple of oatcakes and some cherry tomatoes (very happy that it's soup weather as it's much less hassle than making a salad every day!) Just had a Thai green curry full of veg - aubergine, courgette, brocoli - with some rice. Stuffed! Walked to and from work and snacks have been a banana, clementine and a bit of cooked chicken.

TellysAndWellys · 19/09/2017 19:56

Your day sounds good Heir, really healthy. I've been pizza express for tea which consisted of dough balls (heaven on a plate), pizza and cake 🙈 So not a good fay. Well, a brilliant day actually but not for these love handles!! Oh well. Back on it tomorrow! One meal a day for the rest of the week

Hi @TellysAndWellys @HeirToTheIronThrone @MuchBenham

How are you all doing? Sounds like you've been doing quite well!!

I can't say the same, I have just pigged out on absolutely everything. I ate all the food and drank all the wine. We have also just rounded off our holiday with a takeaway. Oops! Back to the diet tomorrow!

We also found out yesterday morning that I am pregnant, though only just! Very very very early days but I am so excited (and so so so worried already) but I have an extra incentive to get healthy!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 20/09/2017 20:48

Ohhhh lampert congratulations! That's lovely news.

I am doing ok thank you. I ran 8.2km last night as part of my 10K training!! Food today - granola, beans on toast and supper of chicken korma rice thing that a friend recommended. I have enough calories left that I'm about to have a scoop of ice cream Grin

TellysAndWellys · 20/09/2017 21:18

Oh wow Iampert! Massive congratulations, I am thrilled for you. How are you feeling?

This past week hasn't been too good. I just feel like I'm being really halfhearted with it. Finishing today on 1250 cals which is good but it was mostly junk food so not eating the right things. Went to running again on Monday and ran for a bit longer and didn't ache half as much as last week so I'm hoping that's a good thing.

Heir, well done on the training! You're an inspiration!! How was the ice cream?

OP posts:
HeirToTheIronThrone · 20/09/2017 22:44

Ice cream was a brilliant treat! Though weighing out a calorie-appropriate portion was sobering, it was soooo tiny. I can easily eat a whole pint tub in a sitting when I'm in a binge mood. Another reason for the weight, my portions are way over the top I'm realising. The chicken dish I made was to serve four but if I hadn't known that I would have had half I reckon. As it is I have saved some for DS's supper tomorrow and frozen the rest for a quick dinner another time - go me!

MuchBenham · 21/09/2017 07:23

Oh lampert congratulations!! That's such great news. Hope you're feeling ok.
Sorry I've been gone for a while. I started a new job on Monday and it's just been brain overload if you know what I mean. And on top of that I've been v poorly organised this week and ended up eating rubbish. I've got an online shop coming tomorrow, so I need to plan our meals for next week and add some more healthy options.
How's everyone doing?

lampert · 21/09/2017 08:56

Morning ladies!

Thank you. I am a bit shell shocked to be honest, it was only our first month of trying and we didn't really try very much so I am kinda in disbelief! I feel good thank you @TellysAndWellys, just desperately worried about whether I will miscarry. It's so early! I can't believe I can be so worried about something I didn't even know existed 36 hours ago!

I braved the scales this morning and it was not at all pretty. I've put on 5lbs after our holiday so I've really gotta get focused this week.

Well done on your running telly, that is so brilliant. And you too @HeirToTheIronThrone - a 10k run will be super impressive!!

Congratulations on the new job @MuchBenham, are you enjoying it so far? x

TellysAndWellys · 21/09/2017 15:11

Ah Iampert I found out about DS at about 4 weeks. So I know what it's like finding out really early. Just try and relax (easier said then done I know!) but congratulations again! I need to focus, I'm sticking to my calorie count but it's all unhealthy stuff so no good for me. I'll be so upset if I've put on on Saturday but only have myself to blame.

How's the job going Benham? New jobs are always a hard, I always feel like a child on my first day at school!

OP posts:
lampert · 21/09/2017 17:10

Oh dear, false start today!

I wasn't sure if one meal a day is a good idea I'm pregnant (I'm sure it will be fine but given I know there's a high chance it could not stick I don't want to do anything I could blame myself for later), so thought I'd get some something light and the next thing I know, I'm scoffing a a jacket potato with cheese and beans, and a kit kat! How ridiculous!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what's for dinner - we have nothing in so I will call at the shop on my way home from work tonight and choose something quick and healthy. I am feeling totally uninspired!

What are you guys having? x

TellysAndWellys · 21/09/2017 17:52

I was so hungry at work so grabbed a sandwich from Tesco... checked the calories afterwards and it was 600 calories!. Had a bag of crisps with it as well :( I'm having jacket potato for tea haha. But with a small tin of beans. Again I'll come in round about 1200 cals again but it just feels a bit rubbish. Really need to get my head in the game again, I've done so well for th past few weeks, was hoping lose 3lb this week and 3lb the next and then thatll be a stone in 4 weeks but don't see that happening after this week :(

I agree the one meal a day thing probably isn't the best idea, not because I think it'll be dangerous to th baby or anything, but you're going need all the energy you can get in the first trimester. I'd just watch your portion sizes and split your calories into 3 meals.

OP posts:
lampert · 21/09/2017 19:03

Well at least you've stuck to your calories @TellysAndWellys tomorrow is another day and you will make great choices tomorrow.

I loathe tracking food and calories but if I don't fast there's no other choice! I've downloaded my fitness pal again to try and help me keep track.

I've had 954 already today so I'm going to try and keep dinner to less than 500 and ensue it's packed with veg.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 21/09/2017 19:07

We do veggie twice a week for health and finance reasons so tonight have peppers stuffed with couscous and a bit of feta with spinach salad. Tomorrow will I think be a write off though as it's my last day at my current job and I have to supply cakes, plus being taken out for lunch...

lampert · 22/09/2017 06:52

Well last night I was late home from work so I did something I never do and picked up an m&s lower cal ready meal. The advantage of this was the start reminder of portion control - id have dished up way more if I'd cooked from scratch!

A veggie day sounds like a good idea @HeirToTheIronThrone. I quite enjoy veggie meals but mr lampert is never too impressed!

lampert · 22/09/2017 06:53

P.s. Enjoy lunch and cakes today!

TellysAndWellys · 22/09/2017 14:56

Veggie night sounds good Heir! My ds eats meat and it isn't banned in our house at all but I don't buy a lot of it simply because it wouldn't get eaten and our shopping bills are quite low because of it. How were the cakes?

Iampert, ready meals get a bad rep but some are ok, thy help you stick to your calories and like you say, help with portion sizes.

Well I've just had 10 minutes kill waiting at the pharmacist and have weighed myself... and I've put on a pound 😭 I AM wearing more clothes then last week, I usually weigh myself early in the morning and I do feel bloated so that may have had an effect clutching at millions of straws there but I am gutted and feel like I've missed out on a week of weighloss. Going take ds out for food tonight then back on properly tomorrow, no junk, no Saturday night takeaway (sob sob) no fizzy drinks and no thinking 'oh it won't do any harm. Because it obviously will!

Happy Friday everyone!

Ending today on 190 calories a bag of Maltesers . Walked through the door at 7.45 and Ive got straight in bed, today has been a loooooong day. On the plus side I haven't had anything to eat so going to 'officially' weigh in tomorrow morning so wish me luck!

OP posts:
TellysAndWellys · 22/09/2017 20:09

Oh and I obviously didn't end up having food with ds, he had a better off from my mother 🙈

OP posts:
lampert · 22/09/2017 21:03

@TellysAndWellys why has it been such a long day? A pack of malteasers isn't going to keep you going - I hope you are ok x

Itsgoodforthegarden · 22/09/2017 23:34

How are you doing OP?

TellysAndWellys · 23/09/2017 06:21

I know, I didn't plan on having just the maltesers but it was just one of those days! Got a phone call just before 12 from school asking me to pick ds up as he wasn't feeling very well. Left work, picked ds up (who miraculously perked up when I walked in), took him to the walk in centre as he was complaining of back ache and stomach ache. Lovely 2 hour wait there. Then to the pharmacy to pick to pick up his prescription (water infection!). Dropped him with my mum and drove to Tesco to grab something quick for tea (brought veggie burgers, baps and salad) started to drive home, thought the steering was heavy, got out to check and had a flat tyre 😭 That is th 4th flat tyre this year. I'm cursed. Luckily I was about a 1 minute drive from a tyre place so managed get there but had to wait a hour for them to do that then realise when I'm about to pay I'd left my card at Tesco. Had to convince them I wasn't going to do a runner with my new tyre, drive back to Tesco where luckily my card had been handed in then back to pay!
Finally make it back to my mums, she's done spag Bol for tea (none veggie) and at that point I just wasn't hungry at all so waited for ds to finish, home and bed.

Aghhh just one of those never ending days where I didn't really get a chance to eat. Much better day today i hope!

Garden I'm doing ok thanks, apart from being wide awake at this time on a Saturday. How are you doing
