Haven't seen a thread for this although i know there was one last year and i wasn't on it but i really need to do something now. I have about 4 stone to lose. I am starting to have aches and pains as i get older and feel fat and awfully self conscious. Going to try low calorie and mfp. Would anyone like to join me or point me in the direction of the right thread?
Thanks

Welcome keep. How's everyone doing? I've not been particularly good as of work sick with stinking cold so not been able to do any exercise and had a few snacks to feel better, but not put anything on, now lost 5kg since Jan 5th so happy with that. Back to the gym tomorrow.

slithytove · 05/02/2015 07:26

Welcome keep - please do, we need more people, it was lovely and busy the first week and has completely quietened down now.

I lost 1.5 at Monday's weigh in. I'm Ok with this but nervous of this week, as I've had a nasty tummy bug, and history dictates that this comes with extra hunger (yep!) and bloating, so feel like I'm going to have to be extra good. I'm also not drinking enough, so clearly not a good thing.

Still I'm 13st 7, so more than a stone off and a number ive not seen in ages! Really hopeful I will see 12 something on the scales by Ds birthday at the end of March. I have DH birthday to contend with before that though Confused and we are at his parents who are BIG eaters. Will have to do my best.

kazzymac · 05/02/2015 08:03

Hi. Can I join in too? I have been doing mfp since 1st jan and have lost 5 pounds. I wished I had found your thread at the start! I'm 5ft 2 and at the start weighed 15stone 2& felt/looked awful. I weigh in every Monday so will post then. Well done everyone so farGrin

I decided yesterday to buy a new set of scales. I think I might be guessing too many foods using MFP as looking back through my diary lots seem to be around 100gGrin Ate out last night but tried to pick food that was healthier but still went over my daily by 500 calories so exercising for me tomorrow!

Wishing123 · 06/02/2015 12:57

StarlightMcKenzee · 06/02/2015 14:31

I'm not doing that well, but I have reminded myself that I am still slimmer than I was this exact day last year.

If that is all I achieve this year then it is STILL an achievement.

I had hoped to have lost more by now but I think the skill to keep going when there are blips is probably the most important one to learn.?????

I'm on 1400, so I am able to eat out, drink and generally develop a sustainable lifestyle change. I eat some of my exercise calories too.

slithytove · 06/02/2015 15:09

I'm on 1500 and usually under
Will keep reducing as I lose weight
Sustainable lifestyle change is exactly what I'm attempting starlight, for the first time ever

snozzlemaid · 06/02/2015 16:19

I'm aiming for 1600 but most days am under that - more like 1400, some days less.
I've lost 7 pounds since Jan 5th, so it's slowly coming off. I've found what's working best for me is protein for breakfast (usually eggs) and a cup a soup for lunch when I'm working. Amazingly when I'm busy at work this is doing me fine when I would usually scoff so much more for lunch and snack as well. Some days I will have an apple or pear as well.
Then I have a smaller portion of what I've always eaten for dinner and a treat with a cup of tea in the evening.
I'm not feeling deprived of anything at the moment. Long may it continue as I have lots left to lose.

kazzymac · 06/02/2015 16:23

I'm on 1450 which is doable so I'm not really struggling too much. When I did this before I was on 1200 and that felt like I was on a diet although the weight came off quicker. Looking back though for me it was unsustainable hence why I am the heaviest I have been. It's got to be more of a lifestyle change for me now.

So weigh in day today. Stayed the same although I'm quite pleased as I had a heavy week with Chinese last night -oops. Need to step it up this week though. How did any one else get on?

Well done [keep]. I am also back on track today so let's keep it going (waves pompoms) Grin

kazzymac · 09/02/2015 17:51

oops I meant keep

slithytove · 09/02/2015 21:46

Well done Kazzy and Keep

I lost another 2lbs taking me down to 13st 5. 12st something is finally in sight and I'm just thrilled. If I can sustain a 1lb loss for the next 7 weeks I'll achieve it by ds's birthday. It won't be easy as we have dhs birthday weekend but I'm going to try and step up the exercise to compensate. I'm also going to calorie count even if I go stupidly over, it might help me to make better choices.

I've also dropped my calories down to 1450 - making these changes slowly seems to be working well.

How's everyone else getting on?

slithytove · 09/02/2015 21:46

How does everyone weigh in?

naked after a poo like me?

kazzymac · 09/02/2015 22:13

Well done to you too slithy. I weigh in the same as you. That poo can be proper heavy you knowGrin

lessonsintightropes · 09/02/2015 22:24

Hi everyone, hoping I can join too? I'm 37, 5'8" and currently 15st 1lb (having lost a stone since New Year). My goal is 11st 4lbs - the happiest weight I've ever been, about 10 years ago now. I'm trying to stick to 1400 cals per day also on MFP and getting in 5 miles (as my Fitbit tracks it) which is in the region of 12 - 15,000 steps per day. It's a long slog to go, but I think some support from you ladies would really help! My goal is to be at my goal weight for a Christmas holiday to Mexico at the end of this year, with some mini-goals on the way - my sister's wedding at the end of March being the next one.
