Brilliant, Aitch!

How's the sleep situation?

PoppyCock · 25/10/2008 21:03

up and down, not compaining yet. this bfing business is a bit relentless, innit?

welliemum · 26/10/2008 01:42

LOL, are you getting bored of bf now?

PoppyCock · 26/10/2008 11:39

yup... at the moment she's takng ages to latch on for somee reason, it's apita. seriously, screaming her head off woth my nipple in her mouth.., starving hungry. it's like she's forgottn how.

welliemum · 26/10/2008 18:54

Oh poo, that is frustrating. I'm sure she'll remember again soon but it sounds awful.

I seem to recall similar with mine - not specifically forgetting to latch on, but they seemed to need to keep me on my toes by inventing a new problem just when I was relaxing and thinking I'd got it sorted.

Sending latching vibes your way...

ILikeToScareYouScareYou · 26/10/2008 20:17

DS is doing the latch on/latch off thing at the moment. It drives me INSANE. You would think he doesn't know what to do

THIS TOO SHALL PASS (repeat to self over and over again.)

Oh, and yay at the weight gain of baby Aitch. Well done to both of you.

PoppyCock · 26/10/2008 21:58

she's been a bit better today but i fear that the introduction of a wee dub (or dummy, as everyone but our family calls them) is making her latch a bit rubbish. but then i do need her to take it, she'd be asleep with my nip in her mouth all the time if poss. or it could be the fact that her nose is blocked up again cos she's got a cold... god knows. can't believe they're all at it.

wastingmyeducation · 27/10/2008 09:00

When DS was struggling with slow-weight gain, I read up on it, and one of the bits of advice was to avoid anything that soothed them, like swings or dummies, but as you already have experience with another child, you are probably better at reading the hungry signs. I just stick a boob in, and he isn't keen on a dummy now, when I could really do with him taking it.
Sounds like she's doing really well.

xx

PoppyCock · 27/10/2008 09:34

i can totally see that, wasting, it does make sense... hmmm. thing is, for dd2 it's important also that she has those long sleeps so that she'll get some good growing in, and the dub is what soothes her when she's in her hammock (she's too light for it to bounce when she wakes, lol). i'm purposely not giving it to her to get her to sleep, iyswim? i'm only using it to keep her there.

that sounds really stupid, doesn't it?

wastingmyeducation · 27/10/2008 10:03

No, that sounds very sensible!

xx
