Calling all night time feeders - always up feeding when we should be sleeping! Let's keep each other company PART 2!!

I think to start the new thread off we should reintroduce ourselves and our babies for the sake of our own memories and also for any newbies who may join Smile

I have a 10 week old DS who is EBF. Has been sleeping through the night for the last week and I'm just waiting patiently for things to go downhill as I'm sure they will Smile

Hmm I've actually forgotten exactly how old DS is! Think he's 16 weeks on Wednesday but I do know he's exactly 4 months on the 19th. Anyway, he's EBF and has never slept through the night - the longest stretch he's managed is 5 hours but on average wakes up every 2-3 hours. He is 91st percentile for weight and 99th for length so clearly I'm doing something right!

What did he weigh at birth?

My DS was 8lb 7oz and is cruising along the 50th percentile for weight and length Smile

He's had his evening feed and I put him in his MB about 15 minutes ago. He's still singing and kicking about. He doesn't his for about half an hour before he drops off so I'm just patiently waiting Smile

I'm Frankel, DD is my PFB and is 12.5 weeks old. I'm very lucky that she only wakes once a night (5am) at the moment but I'm not counting my chickens! DD is formula fed, I did breastfeed her until 8 weeks but a perfect storm of tongue tie, cracked nipples, mastitis and finally an undiagnosed breast abscess led to me giving up for my own sanity.

I don't tend to post during the night (ironic considering that's what this thread is for!) but chatting to you lot helps keep me sane as DH is currently 2 weeks into a 6 month tour of Afghanistan so I'm dealing with everything on my own.

He was 8lb 5oz but I only had a small bump so not sure where I was storing him!

He has just fallen asleep on me post-feed so will attempt a transfer to the gro bag and crib in a bit. Have also topped him up with 2z of expressed milk in the hope that he'll sleep longer. And he is def going in the crib tonight as cosleeping means he thinks I'm an open all hours self-service milk bar!!

DD was born on the 91st centile - 8lb 15oz - but has now settled between 50th and 75th. She was 6 days over due so I guess she had some correcting to do. She's 75th for length and head, or at least she was when they last checked her at 7 weeks. I'm going to ask them to measure her again at her weigh in next week.

Hi ladies I will join you! My DS is 5 weeks on Saturday, ebf and started from last week sleeping 6-8 hours overnight (not last night tho it was 3-4 hours between feeds)! I'm also expecting it to go downhill esp since DS1 (14 months) was and still is an excellent sleeper, so I feel we can't be that fortunate twice Shock

He was born 8lb10.5oz, was 9lb10oz on May 22nd and will be weighed again on Monday so shall see how he's doing then.

Just place marking - I haven't been posting much of late because the dream feed has been doing its job and DD has been sleeping through to 5\6ish the last few nights. She's been a bit more unsettled today though, so I think we might well be up a couple of times. We will see...

Anyway, DD2 is 12 weeks and EBF. She's been a pretty good sleeper so far, which has come as a pleasant surprise after my eldest who was rather more challenging!

Hi everyone! My little girl is 12 days old, I'm EBF, really struggled at first but feel I'm coming into my own with it now. First time mum, quite young (not teenage) so lots of advice needed. Was petrified of childbirth but wended up only having gas and air... Go me!
Babygirl slept 11.30-5 last night, is this too log to go without a feed?! She usually lasts 3-4 hours, was glad of the sleep but worried about her!

It is hard with them both being so close in age as ds1 needs entertainment and time spent and I feel like I'm always bf (but due to a few issues (ULT and a SCBU stay) I couldn't bf ds1 properly so expressed for the first month and then mix fed til 4 months so I feel strongly sbiut continuing bf this time as it's going well so far!

I keep telling myself in a years time they will be playing together and entertaining each other Grin

The nights he has done 6-8 hours I do feel much better but it means I'm in bed at 9-10pm and not getting any time with DH at all. Oh well sleep is more important so I can function for both boys during the day BrewBrew

Can I join? :) Got 6 day old DD2 currently attached and preparing for another night of feedfeedfeed!

She was 8lbs 15oz but has dropped 11% when she was weighed earlier. :( Need to make sure she registers a gain in the next 48 hours before she is weighed again, so I suspect I won't be getting much sleep!

I've moved a big comfy chair into the bedroom, so at least I won't be in agony from the pressure to my stitches after a couple of hours!

Evening all.

My pfb is Finlay, he is 9 weeks old he weighed 10lb 14 at birth, he is bf, he usually goes from 11pm to 5am roughly. He is asleep on my chest in his sleeping bag at the moment and the dog is asleep next to me snoring!

salmon - does DD feed a lot during the day to make up for not feeding at night? And having lots of wet and dirty nappies? She will be weighed again soon I assume when you meet the Health Visitor (unless you have done already) and that will give you a better indication as to wether missing overnight feeds is an issue. If DD is otherwise well I wouldn't worry too much at this stage Smile

Welcome spirael - an 11% drop isn't too bad especially as your DD is still so young. When I had DS he dropped from 8lb 7oz down to 7lb 11oz on 48 hours. I was upset by it but once my breast feeding seemed to improve he was soon back at birth weight.

Having two is tricky whatever the age gap Cannot but at least my 3 year old can sometimes entertain herself. You have my respect! I agree that I'll be fab in a few monthes when they have got readymade playmates though Smile

Salmon if your little one is gaining weight without problems then I'd make the most of the sleep while you can. They'll wake you if they're hungry!

Spirael my DD weighed the same and also lost 11% by Day 5. The HV put the fear of god up me by muttering about "needing more monitoring" but thankfully she was gaining weight again by Day 7 and was a healthy 12lb at her 10 week weigh in. I'm sure she's gaining rapidly again as some of her clothes are looking a bit tight!

Hi all, my boy is 13weeks today, 3 months tomorrow. He's ebf, and is starting to sleep about 11- 4/5/6ish most nights, although was up at 3 last night!

I've moved him into 3-6 month clothes today, the slightly big-ness makes him look all cute and new and tiny again. Smile

Forgot to say we have the sleepyhead for him to sleep in, in his cot, it's genius he sleeps really well in it! We only use the Moses in the lounge (though I could just carry the sleepyhead into the lounge to use too!)

It means his transition to his cot will be easy I think Shock

writer twentiethcentury She will be weighed on Tuesday, when hv weighed her at 3 days she had lost 4oz. She was only 6lb15 at birth and was 10 days overdue so she is small. She feeds around 5-6 times in the day and had wet and dirty nappies so I'll enjoy the sleep & hope she does it again tonight! Currently giving her her last feed, wish you all luck for a nice nights sleep! Xx

Blimey salmon my newborn was feeding 12-13 times a day, lol. I was bloody shattered!!

I'm getting him weighed tomorrow as for the last week he has been sleeping through the night so has dropped about 2 feeds a day (he now has 6-7) and I'm worried that it might be effecting his weight. Weigh Ins can be quite stressful can't they, lol Grin

Evening all, I'm already up for a feed :( He lasted 2.5 hours and I've been asleep 1.5 of those. So much for going to bed early to get a "long stretch"

Anyway DS (PFB) is 12 weeks was 7lb5oz at birth. Lost 10% due to not feeding well at the start but is now gaining well. Was tracking the 25th but jumped to the 50th percentile last time I had him weighed a few weeks ago.

He's an utterly crisp sleeper waking 3-4 times a night, rarely going longer than 2 hours asleep. Naps are all taken in my arms and are rarely longer than 45 minutes.

We co-sleep and feed to sleep - my back is breaking from all the rods...

Like Frankel I've also had more than my fair share of BF related ailments : baby not latching for the first week, mastitis, recurrent plugged ducts, hideously cracked nipples etc but the little tinker spits a bottle teat out and so it's EBF here still whether I like it or not!
