It's not silly about the bottle , DP pushed for me to express enough for a bottle feed and I cried ths first time he gave if to her even though I've always said I want to be able to express and bottle feed from early on and brought all the stuff to be able to do it, if just upset me so I cried lol the second time was abit easier but I still didn't like it. The only great thing was see'ing how chuffed DP was with feeding her and she went straight back on the boob with no problems thankfully

Enjoy your child free time tomorrow funch!

small how old is your little man if you don't mind me asking? Wondering when they stry to roughly grow out of their Moses baskets

BabyN is 3 weeks old today!! Where has the time gone??? She got weighed and has gained 10oz in a week so I'm really happy and it makes me feel alot more confident with feeding knowing she's gaining weight. First feed of the night hoping for a longer stretch then 2 hours

Hope the sleepy mice visit us all tonight, see you in 2 hours

missingmymarbles · 10/11/2012 00:03

First feed since 7.30. Hopefully wont see you til 5?! Yeah right! One can dream if you're asleepGrin

funchum8am · 10/11/2012 00:29

Hmm we are back just under 2 hours since the, start of the last feed despite all my efforts to get lots of milk into her then. Not impressed! I hope everyone else is having better luck :)

Susieloo · 10/11/2012 00:30

1st feed of the night and I have just done a fairly successful dream feed I hope, he will still probably be awake at 2. I'm coming down with a cold and babyloo is starting to sniffle a bit and is very sneezy, hope its a mild one.

See you all in a couple of hours, attempting transfer ..........

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 10/11/2012 00:43

First feed since going to bed here, I'm struggling tonight between the toothache and tiredness I can barely function. Got DH to take her out in the buggy but she woke up the moment we had all settled down to sleep :(

Hope everyone doing ok, come on babies give us a break tonight pretty please?

NervousAt20 · 10/11/2012 01:27

Second feed an hour Nd ten minutes after the first one!

funchum8am · 10/11/2012 02:26

I am back as well. SO tired! Sorry to hear your tooth is still bad heff; you are doing a great job soldiering on.

Looks like I will be back around half 3 :(

missingmymarbles · 10/11/2012 02:46

I'm back again; only 2 1/2 hours later. Where have my nights if down at 7, feed at 1 and 5 , and up at 7.30 goneSad? I think I only imagined them!

Ameybee · 10/11/2012 03:06

We are on 2 hours again :( sorry to hear your tooth is still bad heff. My eye started to clear up today.... And now I have it in the other eye :( for ffs!!!!! I've had enough now well and truly! I'm really self conscious because I look horrible and its the party today :( then we are having big family meal on Sunday. So I'm guessing I will be back at gp Monday begging for the steroid drops.
Had my friend round for coffee this morning and her 8 wk old is sleeping 10pm-6am every night - am I jealous - hell yes!!!! She didn't want to tell me when I asked because our nights are so crap!
Hope everyone getting some sleep! Sorry for total moan!! X

NervousAt20 · 10/11/2012 03:27

Third feed here only went an hour and ten minutes again. I want to cry

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 10/11/2012 03:33

Checking in. DS been feeding almost non-stop since 9pm and won't be put down. Listening to DH snore is making me shabby.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 10/11/2012 03:33

Stabby, not shabby.

Smicha · 10/11/2012 03:46

I know what you all mean about being jealous of the bottle, crazy isn't it?! However we clearly left it too long between bottle feeds as after a successful couple of first attempts, ds will no longer take one. We have a night out planned for the first weekend in December and my parents are babysitting so he'd better get his act together by then!

amey I hope your eyes get better soon and they don't stop your enjoyment of the party.

I'm sort of just up for first feed, but as ds didn't fall asleep until almost midnight it's hardly an achievement! I wasn't sure I believed that caffeine could pass into breastmilk but I rarely drink coffee and had a 'treat' of one yesterday afternoon while out with a friend and ended up with a very wired baby. I will avoid it like the plague from now on!!

Also, the longer than usual sleep stint has been soured by the fact dh stayed up drinking wine and stuck some loud music on which woke me up half way through. I was livid! He felt my wrath and apologised profusely but I was on my high horse and having none of it! I assume he slept in the spare room as he isn't in here with us unless he's run away after being yelled at by his sleep deprived wife I'm actually still furious just thinking about it Grin

Susieloo · 10/11/2012 03:55

2nd feed of the night and I have just had that smile that means 'its morning now'!!

I'm taking note of your night marbles because I think we are due one fairly soon when miss marbles let's babyloo know the planGrin

minipop just saying hello in case you're reading and too tired to post, how are you and minipop doing?

Your eyes sounds really painful amey and when dp had his eye infection recently he was really self conscious about how it looked.

My plan is to keep babyloo on my boob for as long as possible until he falls asleep and hope he forgets that he wants to wake up and play!!

Dp is next to me snoring and I feel like randomly poking him to wake him up, Grin at shabby madame

funchum8am · 10/11/2012 03:58

Ooh smicha my DH would feel my wrath if he did that too. If anyone interrupts my naps at the moment they are in serious bother.

Last feed I just couldn't fa e the whole waking her up routine so didn't bother. She only fed for 8 mins and went for 1.5 hrs from start of last feed. So I can spend about 1 hour on each feed repeatedly waking her and go 2 hrs between feeds, or stick to tiny snack feeds and go 90 mins. The latter is less effort and not much less sleep!

amey so sorry to hear the eye lurgy has spread! Hope the doc can help.

NervousAt20 · 10/11/2012 04:06

wow your having a long night, hopefully your LO sleeps after his mammoth feed Smile

BabyN is wide awake and not showing any signs f sleep soon, so going to go and raid the kitchen cupboards in think. Thank god immgoing shoppin tomorrow there's not alot of healthy junk food left

Smallgreenone · 10/11/2012 04:07

Hey all I see there are some rubbish nights out there tonight. Ours is really good so far, first feed since 11, he must like his cot Grin
He is 11 weeks nervous so should really be in our room still but he's too big so we had to move him. We have a motion monitor thing so I'm not too paranoid about him, just miss having him at the end of my bed.
Sending get well wishes to amey and heff
See you all at 7 if I'm lucky but probably more like 6 as baby small has only managed a snack and won't be woken to take more.
Attempting transfer

Smallgreenone · 10/11/2012 04:12

Damn. Woke up on transfer. Start again.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 10/11/2012 04:19

Checking in before I catch up.

Been discharged from midwives now which is good, hated having them turn up with no warning meaning we couldn't go a walk or anything.

Holey nipple looks better, managing to feed ok. Still hurts when we latch for a min or so but easing slightly.

Baby buzzy been up since finished feed at 1:30 am but DH said he would deal with him so I can sleep. He has been fab. Im on couch now feeding and have sent him to bed, I'll prob just stay here rather than go back to bed.

Baby sleeping loads during day still and having to be woken for feeds. We've been waking him after 3 hrs if sleeping but wondering if it should be sooner? Any tips?

I shall go read rest of posts just now. Oh and for those looking for pop tarts and pretzels try American sweets the website. Can't link as on phone

Smicha · 10/11/2012 04:22

DS is still wideawake! This can't possibly be from caffeine 12 hours ago so I think he's just not tired. Grrr. He's finished his feed but is wide-eyed and lying on my knee looking up at me like I should be talking and making noise like I do during the day! The room is dark and silent, he should know by now that this means sleep!!! forgets that child is just 6 weeks old and these things are yet to be learned

MummyV18 · 10/11/2012 04:52

Hiya all,

Just checking in. We've a good few night with only 2 or 3 wakings during the night which has been a welcome relief from the hourly wake ups. I'm hoping its going to stay like this with a view to getting better not worse. Fingers crossed

Today (or should I say yesterday) I went to my boss's funeral. Don't know if any of you remember me posting when he died but it was the most epic funeral, there must have been at least 700 people in that church. He was such a liked and respected man. It was a sad sad Sad day. Came home feeling really emotionally drained.

On a cheerier note I'm going to go to one of those NCT nearly new sales on Sunday. I'm looking forward to it as they are supposed to be really good. (Never been to one before)

And hubby has got a 4 day weekend Smile

Hope you have all managed to get some sleep Smile

MrsNPattz · 10/11/2012 05:27

Hi ladies, first feed here after going down at 11!! Hoping little man will pass on some sleepy mice for you all (and keeps some for himself until he's 18 Grin)

heff and amey sorry things are still bad - heff did you get to the dentist?

susie hope the cold is a small one!

smicha I would be fuming too - bloody wine lol

nervous aw bless you, I might cry too! I will have to keep thinking of that yummy Chinese in a couple of weeks!!

MrsNPattz · 10/11/2012 05:29

vicky sorry you had an emotional day, must have been awful. It's lovely that so many people went though, must have been a very good man - try and think of the good times.

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 10/11/2012 06:10

Well after a rocky start we got 5 hours from 1am until now which is great :) just hoping we're not up for the day just yet.

Sorry to hear there have been some bad nights :(

I couldn't get an emergency appointment because there's no one around to have the DCs until Monday morning, and DD1 would take so much pleasure in destroying a dentists office!

mini how is minipop doing?

mv how are you aftr the funeral? Must have been hard but sounds like an amazing turnout. Sending you hugs.

Still so bleary eyed, attempting transfer and crossing fingers.

NervousAt20 · 10/11/2012 06:24
